    MY BS/Ninja

Take Build Up. Seriously. Lose one on the patron powers for it, any one.

Number me amongst those who simply could not, for all attempts, get used to those crab legs. I was all pumped for a crab and then - oy - teh legs...

Then crabby sat abandoned for a year and escaped deletion only because a friend had paid real money so I could have his name. Then I respeced into a Huntsman and now when I play him I hear the voices of angels who all (in my mind's eye) have the faces of Aisynia's avatar.

    What server?

My original 50 is on Freedom and I'm spread across a couple of other servers. I concentrate my important alts on Virtue however because it's the only server with a reliable raid schedule, or for that matter, any raid schedule. I like rolling in my banked HOs.

    What server?

Virtue - where I claim to be an RPer but really I'm just barking mad.

    BS/Nin first run

I figured this for a PvE build, and why not? My CoV beta character was a Ninjitsu Stalker and the recent buffs have made Stalkers a lot more playable.

You can manage capped melee defence if you slot your attacks with two full sets of Touch of Deaths and two full sets of Obliterations. That's an extra 18% defence to melee. It won't be cheap.

Also drop Blinding Powder. It sounds good on paper but it's really disappointing in practise. You want capped positional while you work to buy those sets? It's right there in Kuji-in Retsu. It's Elude!

Also I don't know if you're committed to Mako, but if you take Soul Mastery instead you can get Shadow Meld at 44 which is a mini-Retsu that will also cap positional defense.

Be careful what you ask for - you may GET it.

    Welcome!
  7. I just ran a Manti TF with a full team and yes sirree we had one, often two and occasionally three level 40 Paragon Protector Elites in our spawns. We had a rad, an Ice 'fender and two TAs so they were more dead then deadly but not a good thing nevertheless.
  8. Hellfrosts also spawn along the edge of Villa Requin in Sharkhead. Those ones are all lvl 25-27, so a bit lower then the ones in Potters Field.
  9. Bah, I'm so sorry Alpha. I had friends over that day and we spent the afternoon getting bladdered on port.

When I was seeing my guests out I heard shouting outside and went out to find the media at my door in a screaming match with a cluster of my neighbours over a currently contentious block crisis. (A neighbour from hell facing eviction who went to the press).

An altogether surreal day. I had copied Arcana to Test and had hoped others would make up for my absence. My deepest regrets.
  10. Nice work guys! Folks always underestimate the darksquids until they see one in action.
  11. I have an SG mate in his early 60s. He has some amazing stories about his service in Vietnam. I'm only 46 and he makes me feel like a kid.

  13. I'm seeing the same thing. My regular memory usage for CoH has gone from 650-800Mbs to 1-1.2Gbs.
  14. I had absolutely no intention of making a Broadsword Stalker. I didnt even roll a test version when I had the option of a bump to 50.

But the name Hasta was available, and BS gets the Roman puggio sword, and I had the Mac pack kilt, and the Cimeroran portal goes both ways so why shouldn't someone try to sneak through it, and, and... *whimpers*
  15. Alternatively:

  16. I saw something similar today when part of a friend's global turned from "Frost" to "d ort" (with the space). The lower-case "o" was the only unaffected character in the string. The first part of his global (it's two words) was normal. Oh, this only appeared on the channel listing screen, -not- in the actual chat pane. I asked the friend to check and he was seeing the same thing at his end.

This isn't a new I16 bug however. I saw a similar bug a week or so before the issue launch where all uppercase "U"s disappeared from my interface. It persisted when logging two different heroes but disappeared when I logged a villain on the same account.
  17. I don't usually crow in public but I'll probably never see another Master's badge.

Got this on the first run with a half-SG, half-PuG team, all very good. We were dealt a pair of void bosses and an extra cyst but no one muttered. Tactic: Played 75% human form, popped Dwarf a couple of times to assist the Tank with ambushes and adds, used buffed Nova versus the AVs.

My health dropped to 50% once on the cyst mission when a Cyclops spawned on top of me but otherwise never dropped below 90% for the run.

But that's my adventure. What's yours? Who got a shiny badge they didn't expect or had a great I16 first night?
  18. I've gotten that exact same graphics glitch. Like you it's rare, it effects 3d windows only and it requires a reboot of the system to clear. If I quit and relaunch the game client the launcher, loading and login screens are normal but the glitch still appears on the character screen.

It's rare enough (once every four to six weeks) that I've never addressed it. It only started occuring a few months back and I attributed it to overheating.

My DXDiag for comparison. Old drivers, I know.

Yes, it's fixed. Bill's points are all correct.
  20. Do we have a confirmed date yet?
  21. Your pet at 32 will also make the journey substantially less painful.

The nice thing about Dwarf form is that you can shape shift if mezzed, making Dwarf a get-out-jail-free button - a Break Free that never expires.

Two remarks here - one OT - but I didn't want to double post:

This isn't just the Kheld forums. People don't write guides anymore. I can remember the day when every second person to hit 50 (being a big deal at the time) celebrated with writing a guide. I did the elec/eng blast guide back in Issue 2 (long deprecated by ED). Go to any AT forum now and you won't find build guides much newer then I11.

I asked a friend who is a prolific guide writer why he stopped. "Too much board drama" he said. "You make a target of yourself and everyone with a different opinion tries to rip you down."

I've spent the last couple of weeks grinding Ouroboros badges. Some of the debuff conditions for the badges are pretty nasty. "Enhancements have no effect" or "Character is under debuff" which is the equivalent of doing an entire arc with Vahzilok wasting disease minus the flies. Dwarf, which I otherwise don't use much, has been a godsend. Double Mire has compensated for floored accuracy and gotten me through Rikti Magus fights where inspirations were disabled.

JusticeZero and Dr English both nailed it. I figure I've got the endurance, I may as well put it to work chewing on the targets I haven't gotten to yet, especially if they're stunned and not objecting. With Mire it'll have defeated the minions by the time I've done with the boss.

My only beef with OD is the rather lengthy rooting activation. It's rather superfluous for a forms-centred playstyle but handy for all-or-mainly human form players. Whether or not it does comparable damage to a single Nova AoE is irrelevant. It's a tool for those who can't or don't want to switch forms. For me it's the latter: The 2 seconds faster I might defeat that spawn is just going to get eaten up in retoggling afterwards.
