I feed my cat Nutro Max dry food, and put it in one of those self-feeders and keep it full. That way she only eats when she's hungry and doesn't beg.
I don't like feeding them canned food because of the preservatives, plus dry food is better for their teeth, kinda like a Milk Bone.
And I've never had a vet "recommend" food for me like that... I told mine what she was eating and the vet said it was perfectly fine. -
