    A Huge Thanks!

Just so you know - the market no longer wipes your inventory after 60 days. So you could have forgotten about it until next year and still gotten your nice reward. From the 2nd line in your post, it sounds like you might not know that change has happened.

I'm close to 2 billion destroyed- the prestige thing is WAY ahead of everything else.

    [/ QUOTE ]
True. I had 200M I didn't know what to do with last week, so I spent half of it buying prestige to add things I don't need to my otherwise fully functional private base. I didn't know you had a prestige matching program going on.

  3. Had a /DA scrapper once ask me not to bubble him because his toggles and attacks took all his endurance. Said he couldn't afford to use more end running bubbles, too. After I explained to him that the bubbles cost me endurance and not him, he was happy to have them, and became a very effective aggro magnet.

Many people just don't understand the game outside of what they play (and sadly, many don't even understand the stuff they do play). Often, it's lack of experience, but sometimes it willful ignorance.

You are right on the money. This is, in my opinion, why so many lottery winners go bankrupt almost immediately. By and large, I think a large number of people who play the lottery don't understand finances in the first place.

    [/ QUOTE ]
But I've been playing the lottery for so long, I just *HAVE* to win soon!

  5. We have another satisfied customer of the RagStore. Sold for half the "typical" price, just because I want to make sure casual gamers still have enough to purple out their warshades.

  6. I bet Mod-8 is ready to smack this niche up any time now. I'm off to read more enjoyable threads.

    4) Then (I alternately forget and remember the poster; today is a "forget" day) a newer market poster at the time wondered if they could get a level 1 character a million influence without defeating anything. Done.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I don't think this refers to my work in this area, but I did do something similar. Started a level 1, skipped the tutorial, killed one enemy, gave away all but 1 influence, then went to the market. In a week, I had over 100,000 inf. A few weeks later I had over 1 million. I got tired of it, and got to level 6 for extra slots, then got bored at 10 million. Guy is still at the market in Atlas, waiting for me to be interested again. Getting to 100,000 inf took less than 2 hours logged in time if I remember right.

Many thanks to all helping on this project.

I have two level 32 KBs on Champion. We can try to move them through the market. Not sure how much I'll be on tonight, but look for either of my accounts in TheMarket later and we can try to move them.

  9. Can we please not start talking politics and real-world gov't spending here? Please? Please, please, please? No one will change anyone else's mind, and we'll just end up getting Mod-8 smacked.

p.s. The real source of our economic trouble is [this information deleted by BAB, cthulhu, Mod-8, the illuminati, and 7 of the last 13 Presidents].

  10. So having not visited defenderville in a while, I just stumbled on this thread and read it in its entirety. On the one hand, Hobo is right, but understates it as he often does - everyone knows no mission in this game has ever been completed with less than 50% of the team being made of healz0ring.

On the other hand, I guess something is wrong with me for soloing almost the entire lifetime of my D/D def because 1) teams often annoy me when I'm on a character capable of soloing well, 2) I find the speed of D/D to fall into the "soloing well" category, and 3) with hentaicles and nightfall damage on top of tar patch, and the enemy rarely hitting me through darkest night, shadowfall, and fearsome stare, it's easy to pull and destroy aggro-cap enemies at a time so missions don't take very long post stamina.

This gives a cross-faction market, keeps the RPers happy, and provides an extra Inf-sink, and one that people will FLOCK to. It's win-win-win!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Other than competition being spread out over 3 markets instead of 2 and everyone under level 35 being blocked out you are right.

    [/ QUOTE ]
There's a totally simple fix to that. Once DJ Zero in Pocket D sees how well the guy in Cimerora is doing, he sets up his own 4th market, not linked to any of the other 3. He also only pays in his own new currency, ZeroClix.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then the Rikti can open one in the War Zone, and they would have a 5th market, not linked to the other 4 - and they would have a new currency called "GuhR'eenbax" that you could only spend there.

    T'uff Luh'k's Salvage:Recipe Purchase point

Owned and managed by the renegede Rikti T'uff Luh'k (and his partner Nah-T'Nuff), this ruthless negotiator will deal with anyone from any faction.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Once they do that, the time-travellers will see how lucrative this all is and set up a 6th market. This market will accept influence, infamy, ZeroClix, Rogue-bucks, and GuhR'eenbax as payment for purchases, but would only pay out another form of currency. I'll leave the name to more creative types.

I'm liking the new marketeering possibilities.

Just remimber if they Cap prices like a white salvage at 250, I will Vender it over losing the 10% in WW fees. People will stop posting items and making side markets a place to make X times more money as ppl look for a way toget it.

as soon as you pay the buy it noa price, your setting that up for someone else.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If they cap prices real black markets will spring up not using the consignment house/black market.

    [/ QUOTE ]
This. Please, devs - give us market caps.

    I want to be richer.

  13. I can say I've been buying LotG +rchg, Miracle +Rec, and Numina's +rec/+rgn for 25-35M and selling them for 70M-120M, depending on which level and which of those three I get. It's a nice niche to play on a character you only log every 5-15 days. I usually turn 2-5 of those per login, but sometimes I only get a single flip.

set to 6 running with just my 2 accounts = 1 purp unbreakable constraint chance for smashing damage and the devs wonder why it cost 100-200 mill per purple.

    [/ QUOTE ]
When did this happen? I've never seen a dev asking why purples cost 100-200 million.

unless you nerf the farms and put a cap on sale prices in relation to item level in ww/bm, you won't deplete inf. People will find a way around what you are trying to do if it was implimented.

I do like your idea, but it will only work long enough to be worked around.

Devs, pay attention to this person. We need market caps!

    RagManX

[/ QUOTE ]Assume Item X is capped at 10,000 inf. But you've seen it sold via broadcast for a million or more. Where would you sell it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

shhh. Rags and I are in favor of market caps so we can get rich buying off the markets and selling in a true black market.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes. I meant to come back and respond to this. I could get rich so much more easily if the devs would implement real market caps now. I can just put in hundreds of bids for those 5,000,000 Luck of the Gambler +rchg IOs and sell them via global chat channels for 100,000,000. Sure, lots of other folks would be competing with me for them, but I'm patient, and would prefer to get the occasional LotG for 5M than the occasional LotG for 37M.

  16. Most I've spent in a short time was 200M to Smurphy to get a villain pacted to 39. My D/D def cost a bit over 1 billion over about 3 months to fully build. His "worth" if I were to respec and sell everything is probably double or triple that now (thanks MA!), so I have no idea how much it would cost to do the same kind of thing now.

  17. On a frequently played character, I vend or delete depending on how close I am to the vendor. On characters that I don't log in to for weeks at a time, I list them for 1 inf, and delete them if they are still there next time I log in.

I have the fear that someone might need one of those respec recipes, someone new to the game... so I refuse to flip them or price them high.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I haven't worked in the respec recipe niche in a long time, but when I did, I just gave the recipes away to people I heard saying they needed a respec but weren't high enough level and couldn't afford the recipe.

I mean, I kicked them twice, did a Nelson laugh, and raised their great-great-great grandfather from the dead just to tell them they had a weak descendant that should embaress them. Yeah - that's really what I did.
