  1. Sounds like a great idea, but I can tell you from lots of experience running with superteams that you are setting it up to be extremely difficult to do. More than 1 or 2 builds in a team and it gets really tough to get everyone together to play. Too much diversity and you set the entire team up to really suffer when one build is missing. Good luck - if I had time to play enough to contribute, I'd try to join in.

I bought a level 26 Miracle +recovery crafted IO for 17 million in the past week or two. If you spent the 100 million it typically goes for, then you are the problem, not the seller. Why are you in such a hurry to get every IO you want? If you were to take your time to IO your character, you could do it for 30-60% off what you just spent.

  3. I can totally understand how people can be poor. I have a lot of characters under level 10 that haven't done much on the market and are poor. After 10 or 12 levels, though, it's really, really, really hard to not be rich. And if you are trying to not be poor, it's hard to remain in that state beyond level 5 or 6.

I typically get bored around 400M. I've only had 4 characters cross 400M before this guy hit 1B, and only one of them got over 600M. I usually start giving away pricey IOs to strangers or Repeat Offender SG-mates when I got close to half a billion (I've given away several Miracle and Numina uniques, about 10-12 +stealth IOs, a few purples, and the +tohit set that gives global defense). I've got a few billion across all my marketeers, but this is the first induhvidual I've had hit 1B. Now I feel the need to hit 1B blueside, too.

See what im saying is the OP tried to hard to make cash, if he would have played the game as intended,
The devs intended the market to be a form of PvP. And the OP didn't even spend all week-end just working the market. Sounds like he played exactly as the devs intended. It sounds like you just don't understand anything.

    Thanks Smurphy

I've heard a lot of people complain about the GMs in this game, but honestly I've only once had a problem that wasn't quickly resolved via petition rather quickly, and it was sufficiently non-critical that I just waited until the week, when I expected them to be less busy. I think we have great GMs for this game.

  8. I finally felt that I had to join the club. I spent the last 3 weeks working one marketeer hard enough to join the club. He started at somewhere over 300M, maybe over 400M. Through persistance and abusing the rich:

Now I just have to decide on whether to convert that into prestige, try to grow to the cap, or ignore that character as I have the last few months and get ma0r ex peaz for my non-50s.

  9. I love my defender nukes. Just remember that by and large, defender nukes are end-of-battle attacks instead of start-of-battle attacks that blaster nukes are. And as a kin, you have the option of eating one blue inspiration and then using transference to get right back into the battle if you don't kill everything with your nuke.

It's not a power I use every time it is recharged, but I do use my nuke a lot.
  10. I laugh and /em facepalm simultaneously when reading all the people trying to carry on an intelligent discussion with Turbo Ski. Really, no matter how well written your post is, Turbo Ski will go "/em FingersInEars; /say 'lalalalalalala'" and ignore you. Best bet is just deal with the non-troll posters, folks.

Sorry to hear about that, Fury. Some people don't realize how the powers work, and some tanks are just no good at playing. You are better off not being on that team, anyway.

  11. I made almost nothing. No one bought my slightly-below-last-5 listed purples and PvP IOs villainside, and I did nothing to prepare heroside. I did have a few lowbies that I rushed through a dozen or so levels, and they bought raw components for Resist and Defense common IOs. They used those to earn their starting millions, although I don't think any of them went over 4M. I just didn't have much time to prepare nor to play this week-end.

Indeed. Just PvP and they'll eventually come your way.

About the same here, although I'm more in a 12.5-12.8% reduction in forum desire.

  14. The problem I have with the market forum now is it's under "Player Help" and I feel obligated to help. I wish they had put it under the "Player Insult" or "Player Mock" sub-forums!

IMO setting a price cap and adjusting the drop rates is a good place to start.

    I doubt you would, though.

I'm so glad people remember I strongly favor this excellent idea.

I still haven't gotten an explanation for why Stalkers would even want Ice Melee, one of the worst damage sets going.

    So, why?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dude just picture a pair of baddies chilling out in a hallway or a cave and one turns to the other, "Did it just get cold in here?" Suddenly BAM! IMPALED!!!!!

    Nuff said!

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would wish for an ice melee stalker primary with a modified chilling embrace. Make it -rchg/-spd with no aggro alert, and you set up this situation perfectly. If blasters can have a low damage confuse aura with no aggro alert, stalkers should be able to get a non-damage aura with no aggro alert. It would just *feel* right on an ice/ stalker.

  17. My first really big market sale was an Impervium Armor crafted IO. Forget which one, now, but most of them went for low 30M range. I listed mine for a bit over 32M, and 2 weeks later sold it for 340,000,000.

I'm sure it has been mentioned, but is a price cap pretty much frowned upon? If $150 million was set as the absolute highest price you could list something at, it would help a little. I think $150 million infamy is quite a bit, and personaly don't feel any one item should be selling for more than that. Just my opinion of course, but I'm curious what kind of feedback a price cap has recieved in the past?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I am in favor of this idea. The devs really need to put market caps in place. I know it would make my use of the market more enjoyable.

  19. Unless I'm selling crafted commons to build up a pool of funds to marketeer out of, I list everything worth less than 1M for 1. I rarely get a sale for significantly less than typical last-5 pricing, but at less than 1M, who cares if it's 3,000 or 600,000?

    RagManX
  20. Get the pricey item. Sell it. Put in bids for several levels of the IO that you want. Play the game. Check in to the market regularly until you get the IO you want. Cancel other bids, or keep the bids there and sell those IOs for a profit once you finally get them. If there are never any on the market, that means that when they do sell they are undervalued.

    RagManX
  21. Would be a brief annoyance, then I'd start earning it all back. The farmers would quickly have loads of inf to buy stuff from me, and I'd be more than happy to take it, working as a middle-man by storing valuable IOs on the market for people who are less patient than I am and want their inf Na0!

Because that set has suck [censored] accuracy I always go with the kismet unique as well as a few accuracy set bonuses to at least get it to 2 SO's worth of accuracy.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ditto this. I use the Kistmet unique for the tohit buff, and try to get at least 2-4 +Acc set bonuses elsewhere on characters that are using full Touch of Death sets for def buffs.

  23. I believe history has shown all of us incapable of properly predicting the "right" things to gamble on for 2XP week-ends. On the other hand, I don't think any gambles have failed for ebil gamers on 2XP week-end, just failed to be as good as some others.

    My turn!

Very nice. My first extra zero win was an IO that usually went for 32-36 million. I got 340 million. Started my high-roller play on that hero, for sure.

Another good tip, I think it came from Fulmens:

Almost anything you want, so does someone else too. When you put your bid up, bid on twice as many recipes and salvage as you need. Craft both, and sell the one you don't need. At worst, you break even on the extra. At best, you can make a tidy profit.

    [/ QUOTE ]
This is how my D/D def paid for most of his purples. I bid for 4 or 5 of everything I wanted, then played some alts most of the time. Every once in a while, I'd check in, craft whatever I bought, and sell anything I had multiples for. In the end, I turned 200M on him into 600M and over 20 slotted purple IOs. Took a couple of months, and that was earlier in the year so it may take more now than it did then, but it's totally possible.
