I was really hoping they would put in a very large frozen lake in the Ski Chalet. While it isn't quite the same as having it all over the city, at least it would allow for ice skating. Throw in some ramps (a la Frostfire) and that place would rock.

Not mad at it... just pointing it out and wondering how it makes sense.
I think it is more Ice Armor that gets this rap more then Ice Melee. The effects of Chilling Embrace particularly since it is a persistent AoE rather then a single target. Though the combination of the two would be worse.

I didn't try an Ice/Ice brute back when it was in the CoV beta but, I do remember the complaints that caused it to be pulled. Whether they are still valid due to changes in Fury, is a whole separate issue.

Yes. However, that was before the giant monster code. Since the enemies in question (zombie/rikti invasions as CyberionLeader mentions) now con to each players level, this statement no longer applies. I would like to hear his excuse now.

Is like LIKELY? Not at this point. GR, from the little we've seen of it thus far, is looking to be a decent addition to the game. Sure, it's not "We rewrote the graphics package using the Unreal Engine", but so what?

Content, as Ryu defines it, is new missions and arcs. That's great. It's something that people tear through in a couple weeks. Then it's "old" and people begin beeyotching about it again. Revamping content is simply exacerbating the problem.

Sure it makes sense! In a shallow, self-centered way that absolutely refuses to take into account anything besides one's own view of "perfection" in the game.
I think your sarcasm detector might be broke....

This is an assumption but, seems reasonable. Yesterday the forums were down to undergo an upgrade to the vBulletin (as announced here). The smilies they were using were replaced by the default ones and they have not yet re installed the smilies we all know.

  12. Great thread. Here is mine.

I'm teaming with my regular group of 2 others. I don't have stamina and am out of endd. I rest and when eveything is full, get back up and cannot move. I'm confused and type in chat that I can't move thinking that I might have lost connection to I am testing to see if that goes through. But, sure enough my chat appears and they say they aren't having any issues. I can't figure out what is up. I tell them I'll be right back, I need to restart because I cannot move. I come back re-enter the mission and everything is fine. I blow it off as so bad connection thing.

A few days later, I'm solo and the same thing happens. Now that I have time I'm determined to not restart and reset my mission. I spend probably 20 minutes trying to figure out why I cannot move to no avail. I write out my petition and am just about to send it when I see it. The rest icon on my status. In fairness, this was before the red text or any of that but, still I thought rest ended when you filled up. Why else would my character be standing? He must be ready to go!

See, you get it. It's all a plot. Not a Nemesis one, mind. It is way to simplistic ... or so you think.

I was talking about temp powers. It was in response to the previous post that said the poster could not think of any current missions where temp powers were granted by glowie.

I believe the badge credit was moved to the team but, I wasn't talking about that.

I'm hard pressed to think of any current missions where it makes a difference who clicks what. Maybe the hydra tf weapons?

Anyway, I still think it is polite to defer to the team leader on glowie clicks. Same with team splits in a missions. Follow the leader unless he/she specifically has instructed the team to follow the tank.

Every Mayhem and Safeguard raid side mission. But, you are right about the Nemesis staff. It used to be worse.

I don't believe there is a +0/x0 since x0 will always equal 0. x1 would be equal amount of teammates. 1x1=1 and so forth. I think +0/x0 is a display bug. Though it is likely, I am wrong.

With the exception of farm missions which are never completed, it does not matter who clicks on glowing items. The mission owner is not injured by another player clicking on a glowie. The mission owner may have a perception that it the glowie is its personal property, and that by clicking on the glowie, the other player has somehow robbed it. But if the other player doesn't share the perception that a glowie is property, it has no idea that the mission owner would be offended.
You are correct that there are no standard guidelines.

However, it not quite accurate that it does not matter who clicks the glowies. Several missions have glowies which grant temporary powers. IMO, it is polite to give the mission holder the opportunity to say whether they wish to retain that power. YMMV, however.

My two oldest characters is my Rad/Rad Defender (created issue 0) and my Peacebringer (created issue 3). Oldest villains are a Necro/Dark MM and Fire/Rad Corr (both issue 6).

    Yes the defender mentioned above.

Favorite build This is a tough one. Either my Rad/Rad, Fire/Kin Cont, or WB/DB Tank. It really depends on my mood though.

I have the 63 month badge.

So here is the thing. You are raging at the devs for decisions you made. When we point that out, attempt to call it semantics. The fault is yours not the devs and here is why:

    1) Custom mobs as has been pointed out, allows you to have different options then a standard mob. Those options will make them more difficult but the choice of using those options is your own. Also as been pointed out, they use player stats vs npc stats.I guess this could be blamed on the devs.

    2) The combination of normal mobs you are using do not exist in the normal game. Their powers are going to synergize differently. For instance, -def, -acc, and -regen as has been pointed out. You may very well walk through those individual mobs with no problems. The same obviously cannot be said when they are combined. This is cannot blame on the devs as you choose this combination.

You may want to back up a little bit and look at what your fellow players are saying not necessarily how we are saying it. Lady_Sadako post points out a distinct irony in you claim that they (being the devs) made AE too tough when you made the mission. And you reacted as if she kicked your puppy. You can choose the take it personally or not. But, keep in mind the reaction you will generate. You claim others need to grow up but, are the one throwing the tantrum.

I assume there is one because it follows their typical Beta/Release process. I don't recall if there was an open beta for CoV though. It was just too long ago. But, simply because it is a paid expansion does not exclude the possibility of an open beta period.

The start of closed beta for CoV was in late August of 2005. Release was the end of October 2005. It is possible to be released this year with the same beta period depending in when it enters beta. Of course, what we don't know is when it will enter beta or how long the beta period will be.

With that said, I don't believe it will be released this year because of the loyalty program dates. Having 3 waves of closed beta, then open beta in about a month is pushing it.
