Quote:Actually, this is a myth. The reality is it executed from left to right - activating the first which is cancelled by the second activation and so on down the line. So, it appears to be going from right to left since there is nothing to cancel the right that one is activated. As a keybind, does the costume change happen along with flight activating?
I know for power keybinds that can activate multiple powers that it a) activates one at a time, and b) starts from right to left. So you'd hit it once, and get cc 1, and hit it again and get toggleon fly.
Quote:Unfortunately, reversing the macro order just made the only new second command take effect. Keybind, strangely, does not have this problem for me.

Quote:And does it very well. Always a good time.Pinnacle native here, and these two pretty much sum it up. Most of the teaming recruitment happens over global channels (PinnBadges and Cozmic's Playground are the big ones). Though, if you advertise coherently and politely over the Help channel that you are looking for a team, there are usually a number of low level teams that will be happy to take someone on, or at least there will be people who can point you toward where to find 'em.
If you can get online on a Sunday evening, come join the weekly ship raid. I lead 'em, and would be happy to introduce you to some of the more active players on the server.
I forgot Cozmic's, it doesn't seem as busy as it once was. But, they do still happen there. Good point nonetheless.

Quote:If you have access to globals Join PinnBadges. There are a lot of teams of many levels forming there all the time. When you join you are autosilcenced so send a tell to an op to have a gag removed.I am on Pinnacle and I am generally online 7pm -- 12am any given evening.

Quote:The foot touches the ball at least twice every game. Though it is touched generally far more when for example when team punts, kicks a field goal, or scores an extra point. Why the hell do you call it football anyway? It's not like anyone really touches the ball with a foot much.
But, seriously because it's origins are traced back to the same root game - football.

Quote:I do not work for Paragon Studios and have no say in what is considered a show stopper. Do I consider this do be a showstopper? To be brutally honest, No. What would I consider to be a show stopper? A crash that affects everyone. An known vulnerability that is easy to exploit. Something that makes the game broken or unplayable In this case, you are still able to choose a reward. It just isn't the reward YOU want and you do have the means to obtain it. Even if it is more work for you. But, this is not unplayable. Sorry. What counts as a showstopper bug? Tell me, please. Cause to me, one that hammers the rewards to one of the recently trumpeted bits of content in the game, sounds exactly like one.
Quote:Also, just to show how silly your comment was...remember back in..issue 13 I think it was, the global chat bug. When about 2 in 3 tells sent to global names, would NOT go through. Remember how annoying that was? Basically made forming a tf from friends impossible.
I am not saying that all bugs are found in Beta. I am sure that some only crop up when the issue is published. Back to my point though..that particular bug, so much hassle, to everyone playing..took about 2 months I think, to fix.
And when it finally was, do you know what happened Rad? We got this, in the patch notes, riiight down the bottom:
"Fixed a small issue with tells to global friends not being sent.'
Yes, that is correct..a SMALL issue. SO please, tell me, do, what WOULD class as a showstopper issue?
I know a lot of people who are annoyed at teh merit change, having previous been running the arc on low level alts. Also making the distinction, on current alts, NOT just rerolling for the first time bonus. And you know what, if they had of realised this in the first place, no one would be complaining!
The tell issue took two months to fix. Most bugs take more time than a few minutes to be fixed since there is millions of lines of code to shift through to untangle the cause of the issue at hand. As for their wording on the patch notes. I'll give you that it was poor. But, the difference is as I stated before, the global tell issue was not present in beta. There was be no possible way to say it was a showstopper if it was unknown until live.
Quote:Consider also, since clearly you didn't actually pay attention to what we have been saying..if just TWO lines of text were added into the contact info..problem solved! All gone! But no..only showstopper issues get a super important tricky sit round a table council of war fix like that, dont they.
Quote:Second point. DO I honestly believe that GMs do not have canned replies? YES I 100% cross my heart and hope never to drink tea again, DO. To clarify, do I think they never ever everest have any kind of canned reply? No, because a lot of what they reply is formula.
I'd go for either sympathy or apology, personally.
Quote:I have sent..estimated..50? petitions in 5 years. I have NEVER had a GM say they sympathise with my problem, not a single one. So why are you claiming it is a canned reply..when it patently is not? I have had good GMs, bad GMs, GMs who seem to have never played the game they are GMing....never one who was sorry to hear about my issue, and would have felt the same way (his words).

Quote:Not every reported bug will be a showstopper. If that was the case, the game would still be in Alpha.But..it didn't. Or if it did, it still went Live. Sometimes I wonder why this game even has a Test server, if things go live that are broken to anyone with half a days knowledge of gameplay mechanics.

Quote:You can play a Plant/Poison Controller as of Issue 21. I've created one. Though have not play him much so, I can't speak to how it plays.I tried a Beam/Poison Corruptor, but the redreaw looks terrible. I was thinking of Plant Control/Poison, but I don't think it exists.
Can anyone recommend anything that goes well with /Poison? I can play any AT apart from MM.

Quote:The dots do not indicate population but, server load. While population contributes to server load, it is not the only factor. Since we do not know the specs on each server you cannot really make a comparison of the server loads, TBH. Many try to tough.I had a bright idea to leave my sg on Freedom server and switch 2 of my favorite toons to Exalted (VIP). My thoughts were that all the paid players would switch over and there would be some kick a** groups and teams... My Freedom server had 2 yellow dots as well as the Exalted server.. I made the transfer.. I knew I was in trouble when there was no one standing at the BM at Cap. So then I hit the pocket D Vip button... " Bam" 2 people on the dance floor...? Quickly I bought 2 more transfers and back on Freedom.. Was I tricked by the 2 yellow dots on the Exalted display?
I really would not say you were tricked but, may have used an assumption rather than fact to make the decision.

Quote:Here is two side by sides of firefox 3 and chrome 14:No issue with Chrome 14.0.835.186 m here. Or Firefox 7, or IE9.
What I see for the landing page
What I see for the main page
Seems like something is off somewhere. Clearing cache does not resolve it and the link was there yesterday.
EDIT: It has been fixed now for me on Chrome. Not sure what the issue was...
--Rad -
Appears to be an issue with Chrome (14.0.835.186 m for Windows). Appears fine for me on Firefox but, Chrome is messed up. In fact once I get to http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/index.php in Chrome though several clicks, the background is messed up.

Quote:Based on this I would say it is a bug. Oversight99, I'd suggest contacting Zwill and find out the scoop.I started a trial account about a week ago and could invert the mouse controls for the first couple of days.
Then when I logged back in just a couple of days ago I couldn't invert anymore and got the "trial account" message. It seems like something changed very recently.

Quote:There is room for improvement. The game is great not perfect. You never know how they will improve the game and without offering the suggestion it is less likely they will.Like I said this is a "wish list". The game is playable the way it is, but isn't there room for improvement? Thanks again for the comments. They really are appreciated.
Just wanted to offer some suggestions that might lessen the pain the lack of your wishes are causing.

Quote:Welcome to the City!I'm a "newb" to coh but not mmorpg. Here are a few things I like and dislike.
Like:
1) Toon customization. Unmatched appearance and spec choices.
2) Graphics. Good, but not the best I've seen.
3) Stability. Ok. a. Issues are curser disappears sometimes. (Major because I only have use of 1 hand and have to use mouse) b. Team members, in zone, sometimes missing status info for health/endurance. (Major for my healers)
4) Global friends. I wish all games had this. What a pain to find folks you know without it.
5) Groups (aka teams). This game has better chances at P.U.G.s then alot of games I've played and the quality of players is unmatched.
Dislike:
4) No team member pet window. Major for healers and pullers to keep pets alive and to know when to rest.
5) Curser size not adjustable. This is my wife's gripe. The curser gets "lost" with all the action of fights and is hard to find sometimes.
6) No speech integration. I know I can use teamspeak, vent, skype, etc, but some folks don't. As stated earlier, I have 1 hand. Try running and typing with 1 hand at the same time. Fun to watch, but not to do.
7) Target of target window. Saves endurance when "aiming through" folks when target of target almost defeated.
Overall this is a great game. I look forward to playing with my wife and friends for several years. Great job devs!
4) There is a pets window. But, it only shows your pets. It automatically appears when you summon most things. You can force it to appear through options. I forget what the option is but, something like show pets menu on team window. One other thing you could do is set status bars to allows show though options. That would so you a players, mob, or pet to see their status if the pets in question are not your own.
7) While there is not a separate window, you can target through a target. Just target the teammate and attack, you will attack whatever they are targeting (as long as they are targeting something obviously).
Maybe that will cut down a few of your dislikes at least

Quote:I would guess that would be the case. But, canyouseeme can't see me on port 80 (I was not surprised by this - I knew my port settings) and I can use the Launcher.I'm afraid that CanYouSeeMe probably won't see Jawbreaker on port 80 as s/he already listed that CoX blocks incoming port 80 traffic. :-(

Quote:My first and second characters are, regretfully, deleted and have been for some time...Given the incredibly wide range of AT and powerset combinations we have in CoH (it's at what... 600+ now?) I'm curious about what you started off with, and whether your preferences have changed since?
The first character I ever created was a Claws/WP Scrapper - not a Wolverine clone, honest - with a red and black costume and the name Razerz (very 90s Dark Age anti-heroic, I suppose) I didn't stick with her very long, and scrappers are... okay, but by no means my favourite AT. I still like Claws/ though. Finally deleted a few weeks ago, when I was reorganising my character list.
So what was the first character you ever made in CoH, and do you still play them?
(The inspiration for this thread was me musing about the number of brand new no-vet badge players I see running Dominators, which strike me as the most newbie-unfriendly AT of them all, given how relatively complex they are to play.)
Anyway, my first character was a Dark/Energy scrapper named Enkil. I got him to all of level 6. My second character, was a Grav/Bubble controller named Bia. I played her all the way up to level 16 before I stopped playing on the server. My third character was a Rad/Rad Defender. He got to level 10 before I recreated him during the move. I liked him the best. He is still my main. I did not delete those three for a few years. So, there you go my first 4 (well, 3 and a half) characters.

Quote:My point wasn't whether it was cost prohibitive. It was that a customer may be unwilling to pay for something due some reason they give but, may very well decide to use it if there is no cost to them.On the topic of my tiny exit poll.... And yes, it may be utterly worthless, but until I see a larger exit poll, it's all I have to work with...
It was meant to illustrate that I think most of the people departing aren't at this point, doing so because the cost if prohibitive..
Quote:I've heard many reasons:
1) New SO thinks MMOs are for nerds...
2) Double shifts leave no time.
3) Going back to school while working, leave no time.
4) It's so awesome a game I've become addicted and afraid I'll turn into a Gollum type creature chanting, "My precioussssss," if I don't leave now while I have a shred of willpower.
5) Bad run-in with customer support/tech support.
6) I've even heard people leaving based on a moral stance (Over a differnt topic altogether, and that's where this came up, it wasn't that anyone, certainly not me, claimed F2P was morally objectionable).
2&3) These are prefect examples of what I mean. Why pay for something you may not use or may use so rarely? In this case there is no value is paying $15/mo for that time to go unused. For me, I may have the money to spend but, why if I can't play ways. It's not cost prohibitive, but, I cannot justify the expense. I would consider coming back online during the few snatches of time I may have if I don't have to pay for that time That is much more appealing from my point of view.
4) See #1.
5) You are correct here. This is the same for any product though and isn't really a reason to based the business decision on. They are not your customers or potential customers. You have already lost them. It does not matter what your business model is.
6) IMO, F2P is not a moral choice. It is not right or wrong. But, to each their own. If someone sees a subscription model in such absolute black and white as to be an ethical choice, then you are correct here. You have lost them as a customer or potential customer. I no evidence to back this statement up other then other successful F2P games, I think this is a small enough minority to not base business decisions on.
Quote:But the top 2 reasons by far have been
Boredom with the grind or lack of fresh content and
Didn't like the changes in the games direction....
F2P doesn't address most of these issues, and quite frankly, nothing CoH can reasonably be expected to do can address a lot of them.
But, F2P seems directly counter-productive to addressing one of the top 2.. Now, the new special story content in it could very well address the other of the top 2. Not sure which way that will swing, but, I would think adding in that special story stuff without going to F2P would be a better way to address people leaving.

Quote:So on your little exit poll of this small subsection of quitting customers, what was the percent that might be persuaded back if the game was free? What I am getting at is that the "moral" (really poor choice of words here) decision to leave may be more an issue of an unwillingness to continue to pay for XYZ content, direction, lack of attention, etc but, they may decide to comes back and very casually play if they don't have to pay for it.Many are influenced by money, but none that I know of tell me that's the core reason. Recently I've been hounded personally by a LOT of people telling me they are leaving the game based on moral standards. Well, maybe that is a big reason..
Quote:So, if that is in any tiny way true, then the cost won't help the game's quality...But the accessibility will change the nature of the game... If anyone doesn't think that having unlimited spammers can't change anything, then you aren't as savvy as the spammers.. Maybe unlimited /gignore and unlimited/smamage are needed for VIP accounts at teh least, but still spam is smarter than counter spam... It's a truism of the industry..
