Now wait a sec. I paid 720 dollars to get the 60 month reward
[/ QUOTE ]
No, you didn't. You paid to play the game, or else I want to be able to play for a discount without accumulating Vet badges.
[/ QUOTE ]
Mine and all players fees go into development and operational costs. This fee allowed access to the game. Not arguing that. But, my point was not that I am against the idea per se. More on the dollar amount proposed (this was particularly in the portion you snipped out).
--Rad -
[ QUOTE ]
I think they should just allow people to buy Vet rewards early. That way you can wait get em for free, or if your one of the noobs screaming DOOOOM!! you can just open up your wallet and pay $5 per reward.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now wait a sec. I paid 720 dollars to get the 60 month reward after "waiting" for 5 years, and a newbie gets them all for $100. Granted I understand that would be upfront and I could see a discount being applied for shelling it out in a lump sum, but that is one hell of a disparity.

You still dont get it, being able to buy the powers via real money or inf in game means you dont have to pick a power period. That in itself is more game changing than this change we have coming.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but it's something that has never been intended for serial purchase (for what that's worth ... probably not much). Regardless, temp travel powers do not allow for slotting (esp. the oh so sexy universal travel sets) nor can they achieve the speed of pool powers ... they are just neutered versions of the real thing. Also, not to be forgotten, there exists no alternative to the pool superspeed or teleport powers.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is not correct for TP.
Teleport: Jaunt Initializer
Besides that villains have (although it is very limited and not renewable): Nictus Shadow Step

Workout Warrior Badge: Hit the ground running... this badge unlocks access to the Fitness Power Pool at level 6, so players can access Tier 1, 2, or 3 powers early on.

"You got it. Did I mention that the tier 3 has not had it's prerequisites changed?"
Guess it is a good thing I'm not a dev...

Edit: Corrected typo. I meant 3 not 4. -
Subjective Feedback: I am honestly confused why any TF/Trial is lower then 20 merits. I understand that you wanted to curtail the speed runs (particularly of KHTF, Eden, and Cap). But, with the creation of the merit system in combination DR of those merits setting them below one random roll was overkill. In my view, 1 roll should have been the baseline and give incentive to run the others by granting more merits for them.
Even if someone runs the same TF over and over, they would take around the same time or longer (especially the more they run them) to get another roll then doing another TF still achieving your objective.
Take 30 minute Edens as an example (rounding up when needed):
1) 20 merits
2) 10 merits
3) 5 merits
4) 3 merits
5) 2 merits
------------------- > Second roll (2 1/2 hours later. This is a bit under the 1 per 15 minute goal by 6 merits)
6) 1 merit ... ad infinitum
------------------- > Third roll (10 hours later. Way under the 1 per 15 minute goal by design)
And if that still is too much of a reward. Round down:
1) 20 merits
2) 10 merits
3) 5 merits
4) 2 merits
5) 1 merits
6) 1 merits
7) 1 merits
------------------- > Second roll (3 1/2 hours later)
I also agree the timer should be 20 hours instead of 24 for the reasons given above. Most play about the same time when they can.

Edit: correcting maths.
Edit2: added rounding down example. -
Take care Lighthouse. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Locking up IE for me as well...
Version: 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254
[/ QUOTE ]
Our apologies for the continuing issues with browsing the new website under Internet Explorer version 6. We're working to resolve the issue. If you want to see the site now, you may consider upgrading IE to version 7 or downloading FireFox, Chrome or any other popular web browsing software.
[/ QUOTE ]
Will do, if you will also consider taking my cat that considers litterboxes optional.
Some of us do not like FireFox nor the tabbed browsing interface/look of IE7. I hope the trouble-shooting moves along and that you'll update us when the fix is found.
And FYI, Safari 3.0.4 (523.12.2) works fine with the new site.
[/ QUOTE ]
also, for us dinosaurs who use win 2k still, IE 7 is not an option :0(
[/ QUOTE ]
True. But, Firefox is available. System Requirements.

My work comp doesn't seem to like the new website. It freezes up IE.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can you open IE and go to the Help menu item and then to the "About Internet Explorer" item from that drop down menu and list for us which version of IE you are browsing the website with?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm having the exact same problem and my version is IE 6. It loads up the background picture and then IE freezes. I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to get out of it.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can mark me as having this issue with my work computer as well. Same browser and issue.
Edit: Version number (6.0.2900.5512.xpsp3_gdr.08014-1236)

I wonder if this is possible since you do not log back into the same spot in that case. Just thinking out-loud.

Oh and is any one else expecting to hear "Don't quit your Day Job!" when anyone on the team dies?
EDIT: It could be the new grats.

I probably be flamed for this because it is a radical idea. But ...
Why not remove the e-mail system all together? All MMOs have e-mail which is why I say it is radical. But, it's usage here is limited compared to some others. We cannot transfer influence, enchantments, salvage, or recipes like other MMOs. It is really only text based communication. In my opinion communication is handled much more conveniently with tells and offiline messages. It would be curious what the actual usage numbers for e-mail would be without those reported for spam. My perception (which is limited and quite possibly wrong) is that it is not used much outside of sending RMT and now p0rn messages. Removing it would stop one of their more powertools, the ability to send spam while the player is offline.
Just my .02 influence.

Nightblade, google Irfanview. This is a freeware image viewer that does a heck of a lot more. One of the function is to extract all images for an animated gif. This would let you pull out that image easily.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent post were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.
[/ QUOTE ]
Par for the course.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really. I mean, the day I have something people could consider a "rational" thought is the day that Pigs finally reach level 14 and take the "Flight" power.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately Pigs had free time durring the double XP weekend and reached level 22. Hover turned out to be a red herring, as Pigs took Teleport at level 14 rather than Flight. "Rational" thought shall thus not be forthcoming from Liquid Horatio X.

Whew, we are OK then. Unless Pigs received a respec somehow...

Ok, so Wassabi brings up a good point. All aura heals would technically buff both. Are they allowed?
Also, my Radiation Infection has a proc chance to damage. While this really isn't attacking the damage numbers will appear. But, far from being enough to defeat said monsters. How is "attacking" being judged?

I know that Issue 11 includes flashback but, this is ridiculous!

I don't recall it ever being tried. I know there was a time we didn't have a second one.
CoV general was created when there was a lot of traffic and a lot of learning curve. That's not the case anymore, and most discussions end up being redundant in some way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Lemur, you may well be right about that. My memory may be fuzzy. But, as you stated there was a time they were combined. And I still see the same issues being present. Which is where the question is from.
--Rad -
Ex, a question about this. This was attempted before - combining the two general forums. It was re-split because readers felt it was difficult to determine what "side" something was about. Has this concern been addressed for this attempt?

Yeah, but killing off all those NPCs? That's a major blow to the content of COX.

Cuppa, thank you for making this the comunity it is. We will survive without you. But, Cricket has been trained by the best, we are in good hands. TR is lucky to have you. I wish you the best whereever your travels take you, though it is nice to know you are right next door. Please come back and visit sometime.

so.. um.. er... this means to get Marshall you have to be 45+, probably much closer to 50.
This is the equivalent of the Atlas Medal. Heroes have to be 7 minimum, likely 20 to get a good crowd of Wolves/Vamps to kill in Striga, but can definitely solo this badge in about an hour at level 28ish.
and villains can't even attempt to get this accolade until level 45?
I'd like to get Accolades at a time in my career when I can enjoy them. Accolades at 50 are pretty useless. Also note that 5% End isn't useful at that time when I've had a few extra slots in the late 30's to dedicate to End Reducers cause everything else is slotted; 5% end at level 25 is actually a useful power.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is true. However, it happens both ways - consider Task Force Commander and it's villian equivilent Invader.
Task Force Commander requires completeing all the Task Forces given out by the Freedom Phalanx. Minimum level to complete it is 35 because Numina is snoby and won't even talk to you before then.
Invader requires getting the exploration badges for all maps used in Mayhem missions. With some planning minimum level is 2. Yep, 2.
