Quote:You colonize fanfiction and fanideas? You believe that it is your burden to impose yourself upon them and bring your morals and technology to them? Tell them that they're writing the wrong way and introduce a new form of writing for them to use that isn't sustainable?
Yes. -

Quote:I think it'd be really cool if one of the tutorial mission involved Statesman saving you. That way, when you save him at level 50, it carries much more meaning for the individual player.
I always wanted that, too; or, at least, some sort of signature hero (maybe Synapse). But, now that the OTHER GAME has that as its intro mish... well. -
Quote:Scythus,Does this thread threaten your confidence in your own masculinity?
As Marcian, General Knowledge, Blood Spectre, and Westley will attest... my masculinity is never threatened by such things. Period. You truly have no idea; however, your sentiment is understandable since you don't know me very well.
I'm merely an imperialist when it comes to fanfiction and fanideas; that is, I find crack pairings and the like insulting to the original story. I've read stories with male-on-male plots that made perfect sense, but that's maybe .000001% of them. The rest are just... crap and defy all logic.
Marcian,
I like your serious face, your picture, and your new sig. :P -
Marcian, the ole "no evidence to the contrary means it could be true" is a friggin' joke.
We slam GG for using that argument a lot; don't do it. -
"Man, guys, I'm getting serious deja vu. I was sitting like this... okay, yeah, like that... okay. We were sitting like this and BAM! Friggin' super popped outta nowhere and.... crap."
"THE WARWOLF JACK IN THE BOXES ARE OUT OF CONTROLLLLLL!"
"Man, you guys sit so weird. Wait..."
"If we stack these right we can build a second floor in this warehouse, here. Oh, yeah, it'll totally be, like, an armory. Pew pew... and stuff."
"Requiem may be a genius, but these new Port-A-Potty's are really lacking something."
"Feel the smooth contour of the boxes, gentlemen? Built with all the satisfaction of German engineering." -
Quote:Exactly - he's trying to keep it a secret, repressing his feelings of raging man-love for Statesman - but reading between the lines, it's quite clear that there's something going on between them, even if it's Faultline who's making all the moves, as Statesman is still brooding over his former lover Stefan Richter, along with his increasingly passionate feelings towards the Well of the Furies.
I just had an aneurysm. -

Quote:*biggest facepalm of all. My gosh, this facepalm is huge. Have you seen the size of this facepalm!? It's like... dude... this facepalm is so large that a "Your mom" comparison would only fall short, as not even the mom from Gilbert Grape would be seen as skinny compared to this Facepalm. This facepalm would so deeply blot out the sun that even Leonidas wouldn't want to battle in that shade. It's a Facepalm that, in size and epicness would surely dwarf the opening of Space Odyssey 2001, which hasn't come true yet. I mean, it's 2011, a full decade after that movie and we still haven't acted out the events of that movie. For that matter, has Mega Man happened? It took place in the year 200X, and we're two years after the latest that could possibly be. Unless, of course, the X stood for a literal 10. Then, we'd only be one year past. That is, of course, assuming that we aren't accounting for the year Zero. Some do, and some do. Maybe, by not accounting for the year Zero, Megan Man could arguably take place in the year 2011. Appropriate, given the role Zero will eventually play in Mega Man's series. The Zero's been there from the beginning.
Where was I?
Oh yeah, the facepalm. This thing is huge, son. It's like the size of Iceland. It would easily be seen as more epic than any attack ManOfManChars did in Ao Royale. Wait, you couldn't probably get that reference, could you? You need to join Unleashed and read up on it. You'd get it that way.
But it's huge. It's a huge facepalm. Like Jabba the Hutt letting himself go after a bad breakup facepalm. It's that huge.*
Has that officially been confirmed? Also, they might be bi.
-_-
Marcian, everything you are makes me smile. -
"I tell you guys, no way anyone is breaking into this base! Let's relax, assume corresponding positions, and wait for whatever diabolical plan Boss_Name is making to come to fruition.
..... you guys hear something?" -
Sigh. Here come the yaoi fangirls.
*facepalm* -
Oh, right...
He also drank from the Well because he was faced with two options:
1) A slow, painful death at the hands of chronic mustard gas poisoning, which results in a lot of secondary problems.
2) Drink from the Well and live.
Their real mistake was opening Pandora's Cube Shaped Container Of Fun-Fun Happy Time. I'm convinced the Essence of the Well is actually Pandora, as she is cursed to bring about ruin and discord to humans (in the original myths, not that fru-fru later crap). -
Let's not forget that the only person he loved like a brother, who fought in The Greatest War with him, now wants to kill him.

1) You run...!
2) You jump...!
3) You hit the deck...!
4) AND TAKE A DIVE! -
Super Reflexes for Brutes.
After soft-capping my FM/SR and comparing it to my soft-capped /EA's, I can say without a doubt that SR is the weaker; it feels weak because it is. Not much room for pool powers because you have to take every single secondary power, something which I love about EA.
So, for me, SR.
Close second: Fiery Aura for scrappers. Dunno why, just hate it. *shrug* -

Quote:I'm sorry Kusac, When it comes to EA, my only advice is to cut your losses and reroll with a different secondary. SR is available to brutes and it vastly outshines anything EA can do.
Um, what?
My soft-capped FM/SR is miles behind my soft capped /EA brutes.
Don't ever listen to people who say to reroll. They took a few people complaining about EA and turned it into what is now called the weakest set. In my opinion, SR is the weaker of the two; yes, it gets fantastic DDR, but it has no heal or endurance recovery.
I promise my SS/EA will out-SMASH! or out-tank any SR whippersnapper that comes along. Unless I'm herding Romans without support or herding Fortunata's, EA can turn you into a god that never has to slow down and never dies. I herd Malta set to +2/8 on a regular basis. -

If I said: "They need to learn how to play," would I be out of line?
