Quote:I like the idea of maybe adding an island to redside that's under a cold/snow or rain effect due to something, be it magical or a failed weather control device.instead of weather all around I'd rather maybe a a snow zone or something, or maybe during Christmas have snowfall in a handful of zones to signal the Ice Horde's arrival
I dunno, I'd love to see weather but I am not heart broken by its absence from game.
Blueside has the Halloween zone and the fog zone (so to speak), so redside should get something similar. -
Quote:The Carnies would disagree with them about that whole "no mutants before 1939" bit, actually. That's what I said.
Naw, that doesn't work for me. Specifically, it doesn't work for some of my characters. Right now I'm playing my Native American mutant, Liberty Ace. His backstory is completely compatible with the game lore, so he's not going to have any problem with the Incarnate stuff. Some of my other characters, though aren't compatible.
The easiest way to solve this issue is for the Devs to add a word or two to each of the Origin of Power and Incarnate arcs. When we're told that "no mutants existed before 1939" that's annoying, but it could be readily fixed by saying, "the number of mutants radically increased after 1939." That allows for both the game lore *and* players to have characters who don't fit. Simple solution.
As for how the well can empower a Natural type without giving them magic? How about if the contact with the well, for just a moment, opens their mind to every detail of every fight they've ever been in? For that one, short moment, they see it all with perfect clarity. Every move, every mistake, every choice that they could have made better; it's all there. And while that moment of clarity fades, the effects linger. Now they see past the old limits of their skill. They can line up that sniper shot or block the swing of a sword with a zen focus that most people would work their whole lives to master. They are not supernatural, but they are uncanny in what they can do. -
That might get a bit too close to online gambling, which is a legal mess I'm sure they'd prefer to avoid.

In this movie, they make sure to link him with Captain America in WW2, and Black Widow in modern times. That way, they can explain why they're bringing him into the Avengers movie when it comes out.

Quote:I think this is the way to go. Maybe give a choice of a few types of dialogue (Hateful, Playful, Possessive, ect...) and a choice of what group they'll use as backup (Arachnos, Longbow, Council, CoT, Prisim Rangers), and you're all set.I think the solution to that is simple, and it lies in the Dopelganger system. Let us either design a nemesis or pick one from our roster of opposing characters. Once that's done - and it's as technically doable as putting your own clone in - then just have that nemesis show up in random missions either in place of the mission boss, in addition to the mission boss or just in a spawn somewhere along the way. Give him a few generic lines of dialogue, like "I strike when you least expect it!" or "We meet again, Mr. Bond!" or something along those lines. That's pretty much all you need. At most, replace his surrounding spawn with Mastermind henchmen of your given choosing and be done with it.

Quote:That's actually incorrect. An infinite number of universes does NOT mean that the one you want is out there somewhere. The multiverse has a universe for every possible variable, they say, so there's an infinite number of universes in which Stefan lived, just as there are infinite in which he didn't.
Heck, there's even a universe in which Arachnos are the good guys, and Stefan is the ultimate hero with a name like... hmm... "Daddy Longleg!"
Let's represent a universe where he's "Daddy Longleg" with an apple. Any other kind of universe we represent with an orange. As you can see, you can have an infinite number of oranges, and zero apples in the bunch. -
Quote:Glowing sword. Table of Aslan. Save the world.Dawn Treader is my favorite Narnia book so I'm very excited to see this movie. I was worried that they'd cut out some or the more fantastical elements of the story, like the Dufflepuds, but from the various previews it looks like they're staying faithful. Can't wait!
They may not be removing things, but they're ADDING new things to make it "better". -

It can be ugly on some characters, however I think that everyone knows what Hasten is and what it does. Unless there's some reason to think we SHOULD see it, I try to just ignore the effect when I see it on someone (same with Super Speed).
I'd love a "No FX" or color selectable version, but I'll just deal with the glow for now. If we do get a customized version someday, however, I can't help but think that they could do a better job of making the "flames" now. -
Quote:Oddly, I'm noticing more and more people have /hide turned on to at least some degree at all times when they play. Is it possible that they're there, and just not showing up on the search?I do a search by level in whatever zone I'm passing through at the time, then search by level in all the zones. When 5-15 total players show up for the 6-20 level range, and I'm the only one flagged as looking for a team, I'll solo for a bit to use up Patrol XP and/or move on to another character.

To be serious for a moment, I think it all comes down to Neuron and Anti-Matter. Those two trying to one-up each other caused problems in other dimensions, which some heroes were asked to help fix. That got the two worlds to notice each other, and things went downhill from there.
However... Somehow, I get the feeling that neither Neutron nor Anti-Matter told Cole the truth about what happened. It's quite possible that he believes that Primal Earth launched the first shot, and he really thinks he has to defend his world from them.
All that having been said, I think it's far more interesting to believe you're on the right track with the Mc Rib idea. Just think of all the recipes that have been lost on Praetorian Earth. KFC's secret recipe, the special sauce for a Big Mac, Twinkies, Caramel Pecan Silk Supreme pies from Village Inn... Cole's going to live a VERY long time, if not forever. You know how bad you can crave something once you know you can't have it. He's going to be craving ALL those things, possibly for centuries.
He has to invade, it will drive him nuts if he doesn't get his junk food fix. -
Drugs. Lots and lots of drugs.

Quote:I think one of the arcs specifically states that they don't want to trust the Menders, as they're not sure who/what they really work for.I can see the value to keep the club thingy, but your membership to the club could be acquired through the standard arc or set it up where there is an agreement between the Oro monks and the club, so once you join Oro you get club membership automatically.
I think that was done so that they can hint at Oro maybe being untrustworthy, but still give full access to any zones like Cimerorea (and they could add more) without them being tangled in those plots. -
Scrapyarders and Luddites are pretty close to Rogues already, but they don't work as well outside of their special areas.
Some Freakshow are going Rogue/Hero, at least in a few arcs/tips. Still, I'd like to see more, either of them or another group being more Rogue-ish. -
Quote:Go with FX in PvP only, then maybe change just one of the powers to colored FX.Here's one last question, though - do I use custom SR colours, or do I go with the FX in PvP Only option? On the one hand, I want to use effects in pink or purple to denote mystic ward forcefields. On the other hand, they kind of make the costume too fruity and they take away from the impact of the sword, itself. I currently have her with effects, but I'm likely to pop down into the D and change that. I have a bunch of veteran costume tokens to use for that.

I know I'm a bit late, but a concept I used for a weretiger WAY back near the start of CoH would have been just what you were looking for for your werewolf.
Someone that was badly injured, and agreed to try out a new treatment to help them recover. The treatment was an attempt to "split off" the healing abilities of lycanthropy, and it appeared to work for a while. Eventually, however, the full lycanthropy set in, and they changed. Thankfully, the slow onset of the lycanthropy gave them time to adjust and control it.
Now able to do superhuman things, they decide that they'll do their part as a hero. However, using claws and fangs could result in new lycanthropes, so they pick up a blade to use instead.
.... Anyway...
Good luck with the new character!
[Edit] PS.: I would have changed the torso chain for the leather harness, it looks good with that cape. Replace the belt with something more normal, and put on some pants. -

On Virtue here, and I've seen the same thing. Sadly, this was my only day to spend much time going for the invasion badges, as I work this weekend. I really wanted that sword for my Stalker, too.
If it's truely broken, I hope they'll turn it back on next weekend, too. After fixing it, that is. -
Quote:I'd like to point out that it's a Nictus without a host, and with nothing around it to allow it to exist for more than a moment without one.thats a bummer, I always thought there was some other Big Bad just off camera. Knowing it's just a Nictus kinda kills the cut scene.
Romulis is taken off guard when it merges with him, so he's never seen it do that before. He's used to it being the floating ball of dark energy, despite the lack of life support.
A normal Nictus can't do that. A normal Nictus can't splinter off parts of itself and then reabsorb them to revive its host. If there's an Incarnate level Nictus, that one's it. -
I actually happened upon the first couple of issues of this comic back when it came out. Let's see what I recall...
She's a normal teen (in comic book terms, so she has a perfect body and long flowing hair) that has some really nasty nightmares. Then, she starts to turn into the things in her dreams, using their forms to defend herself.
There's a big, nasty dragon in her dreams that is pusing for her to use this power more and more, and to call on bigger and meaner things. Then you find out that once she's called up a monster, it can enter the real world on its own. From what I saw, it looked like the Dragon was trying to get her to call on it in desperation, so it could enter the real world.
That's about all I remember of it. I only saw the first two issues or so, and lost track of it after that. I liked the dragon, though.

When dragging something "up" your lamps or safe to raise it, the trick is that you have to have your mouse pointer "on" the side of the thing you're using to lift.
If you let your pointer drift off, then it will place the item you're moving at the height of whatever surface the pointer is "on", such as the floor. -
Quote:Ah! Now that make sense. It would be a good move on their part, too. This right here, is what I heard from my comic book sources on one of the main reason why they are doing that.
A lot of the oringinal Sups powers that were written by Siegel & Shuster are omitted with the characters they made as secondaries. Now this is all DC property so if they do lose him they got at least something in their own works so they do not lose what 90 years of history. -
Answer to the question: Yes. I think the first time I really thought that was Blackburrow in an older MMO.
I do like it when I can establish a base of operations and make part of the world my own. It doesn't always fit the characters to do so, but it can be a blast when it does and it happens.
