Quote:I figured they'd put him in Pocket D somewhere. It's easy for everyone to get to, and you'll only need one of him. It's also where he manifested himself into existance in the first place, so it fits.As to your main argument, 'new players' are unlikely to even get to Ouroboros (which I'm pretty sure is where they said the contact would be) and being new, I'd think that makes them even less likely to question anything they see, especially given the context of it being on a flying trans-dimensional time ship operated by steampunks. Once they see the giant, blue, bearded guy in the toga, all bets are off.

While awesome, that's also disturbing and creepy.
I know what a green sky means, and that is GREEN. -
A chunk of him containing his life force and 'mind' falls on Oa and fuses to the planet. He becomes Oa, and takes over as the Guardians retire/disappear until such time as someone else writes them back in.

Quote:I don't know about that. A well done death can make a character more popular, which makes them want to bring the character back to create more sales. The other side of that are the folks who slaughter heroes and villains left and right to make their stories "more visceral", or to create a false sense of drama because they can't do it any other way. An example being Bendis who essentially wiped out Alpha Flight in an off panel fight, or whoever was writing the new XMen post Decimation and blew up most of the now depowered mutants on a bus.
If the written deaths weren't handled so poorly, perhaps they wouldnt be so quick to reverse them. -
Quote:Even when the source itself was a movie?Back to the retcon thing, I don't even look at movies as retcons. They're just a different interpretation of the source.
Watch Star Wars Epp 4-6, and Darth Vader is impressive and scary. Then, watch 1-3 and tell me if you can take him seriously any more.

Quote:Two or three times now, I've had messed up graphics on my character select screen. At least twice, it started with the wedding gloves on a female character being all messed up.I've been getting those crashes too. Yesterday I was standing at the black market and it popped up, something about female gloves. I was on a male toon with no other characters even in view lol.
Doing a file check causes it to fix something (flashes too fast for me to get the full name), and then it's fine. It also seems to be fine when I log into the game to actually play, though it still worries me. -
I wonder how many people, once they can log on, will just jump in and do the same thing for their Sony accounts?

Aura Request: I'd like a new version of the Electricity/Lightning Aura. The current one 'hugs' the body at all times. Make a character that uses the lighting elemental shield, turn it on, and run around. See how the lighting trails behind them? I'd love to see the Lightning Aura do that!
Emote Request: "/em facepalm" is long overdue. -
That looks like a better mall than the one I live near IRL.

Quote:As have I.Still, i20 itself doesn't have anything to do with the OP's question, directly. It's an arbitrary point on which some folks have hung a reason to say "No" to the question.
That being said, yes. I have given up ever seeing any further base development.
I'm a casual base builder at best, and I know I rarely post here, but I do check in every now and then in the hopes that SOMETHING new is happening.
It's time to admit this is a dead issue, and nothing will happen. The Rednames come in once in a blue moon to wave a carrot around, but that's it. I think it's time to accept it and move on, one way or the other. -
Try abandoning the mission, getting on a large team, and reclaiming the mission. It may rework the mission to a bigger map to account for the larger team size.

Quote:But, that means that.... Thanos wants to hook up with Aunt May.At this point I don't think that the supreme Marvel diety could kill Aunt May. I think she's made some sort of pact with Marvel Death.
Oh wait! She IS Marvel's Death! That's why she had no children of her own, and why she's still around!
Eww... -
The +Resist in those powers is a set value, and can not be affected by anything outside of your health level. If you found a way to somehow get a +Resist Enhancement in those powers, it would do nothing.

Not that I don't like the idea, but... wouldn't this make things a bit harder for those people playing characters that can only do a TF as part of a team to find a good team to join?

If I MUST make such a system, here is how I would work it:
Each trial would be broken down into "Acts". Each Act would have different "Danger zones" in it.
During each Act, if you enter at least one Danger Zone and use a power on a target (not yourself) in combat mode, you earn credit for being active during that Act. The more Acts you're active in, the more likely you are to get a good table at the end.
Example: BAF.
First Act: Clearing the Warworks. All spawn locations are Danger Zones.
Second Act: Defeat Nightstar. The entire inside of the BAF is a Danger Zone, as you don't know where she'll be pulled to for the fight.
Third Act: Prisoner Escape. Areas along the escape paths are Danger Zones.
Fourth Act: Defeat Seige. Again, the entire inside of the BAF is a Danger Zone.
Fifth Act: Defeat Seige and Nightstar. Once more, the entire BAF is the Danger Zone.
You could still beat this system, but it would at least require you to do something and move around some. -
I have been thinking on this, and I can not come up with a system that will not cause more problems than a random or near-random system.
Therefore, I say random, but look at the upgrade/downgrade costs on the rewards, so that a string of bad luck on the rewards does not become an overly unfair situation. -
Why not RP in the Midnighters' Club? Access has to be earned, and for Villains it's something they can't earn on their own until level 30 or later.
Anyway...
I think a zone to launch trials from is a great idea, and it needs to be put in ASAP. It doesn't have to be fancy, but it DOES need at least as much stuff as what Pocket D has, including the easy teleporter access.
I shall warn you, though, that if I'm waiting there for a trial to start, and my friends are there, I -WILL- RP there with them! -
Virtue has been known to spawn a second Pocket D on a weekday night, just from all the people RPing in it. I've already seen leagues having to jump from D to D, trying to get everyone in the same instance, just like they have to in other zones.
As to why do people RP in the D? It's actually for the same reason people form leagues there. It's a Co-Op zone that's easy to get to, and has much less lag than the War Zone. It's not ideal for all the RP that goes on there, but to interact with people on the other side, it's the best choice we have. -
It looks like just Freedom and Virtue are down. I think we wore them out.

Those are pretty impressive, thanks for sharing!

Quote:As a fan of SR scrappers, I'm wondering about this myself. Will Super Reflexes characters stand a chance here? The only level 50 that I bothered unlocking the level shift with is my MA/SR scrapper. I can see how other soft-capped-defense sets can use alternative builds to mitigate these issues, but with everyone saying how the high-level-game is balanced against the soft cap... what should I look at doing with the /SR scrapper... aside from playing it like a nearsighted blaster.
Is that it? Don't tank, use things like the smoke flash and day job placate to keep the big guys' aggro elsewhere... or hope your team has lots of +resist buffs?
(This isn't a whine-- I'm really trying to get feel for what'll be expected) -
Quote:Ah, but what if what's best for Arachnos is to get rid of Recluse? While I can understand Manticore being thrown into that role, Ghost Widow's story sort of precludes her from engaging in such an "independent" function. She is attached to Arachnos, so what Arachnos wills is what she does, with very little room for leeway. And, I don't know if you've noticed, but Arachnos is $%&!ing EVIL! There's no "rogue" associated with Arachnos, it is solely designed to turn the world into a Hellhole at the whim of its demigod leader. Supposedly, Weaver-1 wasn't much better, either.
She does what's best for Arachnos as a whole, not what's "good" or "evil". Right now, getting rid of Recluse would be too distructive to them, but if the benefits ever surpassed the costs, she'd be doing everything she could to take him down. If saving a kitten from a tree furthers Arachnos as a whole, she'll save the kitten. If killing a puppy is what it takes, she'll kill the puppy.
She's not out for money, but she still sounds like a Rogue to me.
