  1. I've not seen it yet, but I wonder how it compares to the best part of the origional Conan movie.... the soundtrack.

Anyone have any thoughts on that?

I can't help but think that they must have ran into SOMEONE that would like him enough to be friends with him. Especally once they went into JLU. Or he could have joined the JLU to have more friends. He was lonely, and a lot of that group were outsider types that might have understood him.

It just bugs me that his story basically ended with "They left, and he was lonely forever. The end." Even if Catwoman never went back, you'd think Batman would try to do more for him than that.

I love that one, but I've always felt it was a shame that they never brought back Tygrus. It seems wrong that they would just abandon him, there should have been more story to tell. Even if it had waited until JLU, he should have gotten a better ending.
  4. I'd put Need from the Valdimar books on the list before some of the ones they listed.

I'm not sure it would be in the top ten, but it's better than some of their choices.
  5. My first try at playing CoH was on Guardian, and I didn't do too well. I took a short break to try EQ2, but soon came back. On my return, I decided to try Virtue, as a friend of mine had played there and said good things about the people on that server.

It wasn't long after I started playing on Virtue that I ran into two people that pulled me headlong into serious RP, which is what keeps me around to this day.

King Cheetah: I started RPing with him on my character, a Grav/FF controller. It was fun, and really got me into RPing as a character instead of just having a vague idea of how to RP them. A stray comment from him inspired me to make a mouse character to run around Atlas and be scared by the various felines. (Note: This joke character was not to go past level 1. He became my first level 50.) Right after I made the mouse, I heard a call go out for an animal-themed costume contest. Running in to join the fun, I quickly ran into King Cheetah's SG leader...

Tigris Twins: One of the founders and leader of the Superheroes of Paragon City, America (ASPCA). He and the rest of the ASPCA gave my character a home, and helped to motivate me to flesh him out. The results were outstanding, taking me far from the simple joke he was intended to be. Tigris also helped me get the hang of all sorts of RP tricks and styles, including breaking down some of the reservations I had about certan things and themes.

Tigris's player is set to come back with Freedom. Sadly, I've not heard from King Cheetah's player in ages, but I still hope to see him in game once i21 goes live.
  6. Ninja/Traps MM. The ninjas are robots.

You may have to explain the Oni a bit better than "it's a robot", but the other ninjas work well as androids.
  7. I think that we will never find out who the letter writer is.

There may come a time when we have an arc that has us making a big change of some kind, either in the present or the past. Near the end, we will find a final letter from the writer, telling us that the change we're about to make will be the one that erases them from the timeline.

The letter will give us a last couple of warnings, wish us well, and thank us for doing what must be done. No name will be given, though they will state that they're at peace with what's about to happen to them for the greater good.

And when the story is over, there's no more letter writer. Just your memories of them, and your own belief of if they were a hero or a villian.

If they can put a new powerset out every month or so, or add a new story arc, or something... Wouldn't that mean a reset every month?

I hate to ask the obvious, but are you in SG mode?
  10. I'd say that Marvel needs to take some risks on this one.

Find some up and coming actors, and bring them in. Then, go to one of the smaller name FX groups and say "Here's your budget, here's the script. Show us what you can do."

If it bombs, it bombs, but they've kept their losses down. If it takes off, they have a winner and a possible franchise for future movies.

    I would say MA/SR Stalker.

Hide is really his ability to blend in and make people think he belongs there. SR because he's shown that when things go bad, he knows how to duck and when to run.

MA due to the third Doctor's use of martial arts.

Get a couple of MA attacks and his AS (Doctor #3 DID disable a few people with one shot, after all). Take various pool powers, including all the Leadership and Medicine pools as soon as you can, but don't forget to take Placate at 12.

For his regenerations, use the "Return to Battle" Vet power. He's surely been around long enough to have earned it by now.

    I actually like this.

  15. I have a question, and I'm hoping the answer's out there somewhere and I've just overlooked it. If so, can someone please point me in the right direction?

Question: I have three "filler" accounts. I used them to fill small SGs so that I would have more Prestige to start with. Each account is at 0 or 1 Vet Rewards badges. When Freedom goes live, what happens to the filler characters in those SGs?

  18. You may want to remember that while the story will play out for VIPs during those seven months, after that the story may not be there for people to play any more. If you can just replay them in Oro, then they're not as great of a reason to stay subscribed each month to avoid missing part of the story.

I don't think we'll be able to Oro these arcs, and that changes the kind of impact a character death will have, because new players after this won't be able to play through it.

My bet: Synapse. BAB will take over in Skyway. Given his history with the war on 'Dyne, it's a good spot for him. BAB can be given a reworked version of the Synapse TF to hand out. A life-sized statue of Synapse is put onto his current standing point, and a history plaque added.

Don't forget that any extras you've earned or purchased should still be open as well.

So, if you played for three years and purchased four extra character slots, you'll have those seven plus the base two to use on that account.

... yeah, I'm going to keep paying too. I'd still lose too many characters.
  20. Ouch.

Yes, I took a day off for it (Sunday). I also took the day off because it's hotter than *bleep* here lately, so at least I can still enjoy a day of air conditioning.

I work the new weekend, though, and I don't know if I'll be able to take another day off when it rolls around. This is very disappointing...

But, I understand why it has to happen. Oh well.

Personally, I don't mind that it's being given out this way. I just want to know that I can get it later without doing something that I'm morally opposed to. (And yes, I know this is an odd thing to get morally stuck on, but stuck on it I am.)

Given that I work 12 hour work days, I'm not fond of contests to get things because I'm often WAY too late to get a shot at them. Again, I don't mind there being contests that give them out first, just so long as I can get them later.

  23. I do not have/use Facebook, nor will I create a fake/pretend account. Aside from moral reasons, I'm here for the superhero MMO, not Facebook games.

Devs, will this be given out in other ways at a later date? Say, in a way that ISN'T a contest of some kind, and isn't linked to anything OUTSIDE of the game?
  24. Further advice: Rest.

You'll have a lot to do, and it's easy to not notice how much stress you may be putting on yourself in all the fun and crowds. Take a break every now and then to sit down, de-stress, and eat something good for you. Don't short yourself on sleep too badly (though you'll do it some, everyone does).

    Oooh

Meh. It's not going to be the real Manticore. It'll be a Nemesis robot, pretending to be Chimera, who's trying to pass himself off as the real Manticore.
