    CoT Death Mage

I never bought the "causes clipping" excuse for not giving us the belt or the big gloves.

If you look closely at both parts on an NPC, you'll realize that both items need more than the two colors PCs can have per part. THAT rules them out for PC parts, not clipping.

I'm not sure about the shoulder parts you mentioned, I've not taken a close look at them. But if they require more than 2 colors, don't expect to ever have them.

Yes, a little. And don't forget, you CAN get them from B&N's online store.

This WILL cost DC some sales too, though. For many people, not seeing the books on the store shelves means they'll never get interested and never buy it. DC screwed B&N over by making it a Kindle exclusive. B&N is trying to make it cost DC more than they gained by that move.

I used to work at a grocery store. There, I found out that if (for example) the local Pepsi dealer gave a deal to one of the other store chains in the area but not to us, the bosses would shrink the amount of shelf space Pepsi had in our store. It may have cost us some sales, but in the end it made offering the deal to us too the smart business move. This is basically the same thing, but with more publicity.
  3. I have no problems with it.

As the article says, they have a policy that states that they'll only stock in the stores items that they can sell all versions of. That way, you don't see something on the shelves and (like me) think "Oh, I'll get that for my Nook", only to find that you can't because it's for the Kindle only.

Because the farmers have decided they don't want to farm as much.

They pay their money for VIP too, you know. They choose how THEY want to play, and if that doesn't include farming, then you're just out of luck.

Don't worry. I'm sure that once the new shiny has worn off of Time Manipulation, Beam Rifle, and Street Justice, as well as the new content, they'll be back to the old farms in no time. It's not like the Devs have staff or huge weapon melee sets in the works to disrupt farming just as soon as it starts to take off again. Right? /goldengirl

The thing is, this was the second time he'd been hit by lightning in that comic.

The first time, he TOLD the White Queen (in Storm's body) to hit him with a shot of lightning to power him up before a fight. He hadn't been able to fully discharge that energy, however, before the uncontrolled BIG bolt of lightning got him. So he can absorb it, but maybe not as well as kinetic energy.
  7. I know what he's talking about.

I have (had?) a character on Guardian that's made with OLD costume parts. I don't think there's anything left on him, other than his gloves, that's still in the costume creator.

I can find a face that's ALMOST like the one he has (had?), but it's not the same.

As I recall, it's not that the normal faces were removed because people were confused by near-duplicate faces. It's because the old faces were made in such a way that they couldn't do some things they wanted to with them. The CoV faces fixed that problem.

  10. I'm glad the arc is set to levels 10-20. Most of my characters are NOT level 50, and I like that I can use most of them to play this arc.

The first time I played it, I did it with a level 50 hero. It was fun.

The second time I played it, I used a level 12 villain. It was still fun, AND I gained some decent EXP from it.

I'm actually kind of sad to hear that the levels of the later parts of the story are going to be higher. Each jump in levels means I have fewer choices on who to play it with.
  11. Maybe they'll force Tilman out, and she'll jump into Calvin's body?
  12. Wouldn't skill at making a good costume count as the skill part of the contest, though?
  13. Mahera: SS/Invuln Brute. A tortise shell calico with a white chin and belly, she came to us from an owner with multiple cats. Mahera would beat up said cats, and for their sake needed to be in a one-pet home.

She's six slotted her Taunt power, which she uses by destroying things to make you pay attention to her. She seems to have forgotten to take a travel power, though.

Who is to say that Cole didn't implant the idea in Duray's mind (omgz, inception!), of using the Hamidon Seeds - then in front of his own troops, pin the blame firming on Duray, making Cole look like the level-headed benevolent leader to those who follow him, while still getting the more murky methods of attacking Primal Earth that he wanted.

He wipes the memory on Duray, Duray never is the better to what's happened, and Cole gets to keep playing the role of of "savior", while going about it in much more evil ways.

Yep, that's what I was suggesting.

I feel I should point out that they also show Cole has the ability to have Duray's memories edited. Depending on how much editing gets done and how often, Duray may not have had a thought that's truely his own for quite some time.

  17. Penguin or Clock King.

They're both obsessive, but not over things that will involve shooting you or frying your brain. Neither one's likely to cheat you out of your pay, either.
  18. First, I'd take it out for a test run or ten. See if it can really do what it says it can do.

Second, I'd have to get into better shape. I'd look awful wearing it, thank you.

Third, I'd dig around in the menu systems, to see what ELSE it can do. I'm sure there's some hidden information in there that might be important.

Finally, I'd cover it up with other clothing, and then go out and try to be a vigilante. I might smack people around, but I'd really just go after any drugs, guns, and money they may have. Drugs and guns I'd destroy. Money I'd likely keep, because I can't fight crime, have a normal job, AND have time to get into decent shape without using some money to cut corners.
  19. Okay Tunnel Rat, I've found a bug on female models. I'm posting it here because I want you to copy the bug over to male and huge models, if you can.

Female model. Blaster. Dual Pistols/EM. Set aura to Atomic-hands (combat). Now, go into the powers customization, and watch what happens when the gun attacks are used.

The atomic aura locks onto the guns, NOT the hands. When the guns are flipped around, the aura actually spins with them. (Note: This part, at least, happens on all models.) When you do Piercing Rounds, though, the aura actually stays ON the guns when they're thrown, actually leaving the character's hands.

I know it's a bug, but it's an awesome one. Can we please have it changed so it works like this on all models?

Edit: Looks like a few other auras may work this way for females as well, including Wisps and Leaves. It's not easy to tell for sure.

Ditto on the plant controller part.

    News from PAX

Am I the only one that's disappointed that the "Minotaur" in the pictures is using human legs, and not the monsterous legs, to show off a new costume part?

I'm guessing this will be another option that won't work with the monster legs. Too bad, as lots of beastial characters might work well with barbarian stuff.
  23. Don't make copies of existing comic/movie/video game characters. They can be and will be "Genericed". This means that the name, costume, and description will all be set to some bland generic version if they're a violation of someone's copyright/trademark.

A lot of very good names are already taken, but that doesn't mean they all are.

Don't be in too big of a rush to get to 50. There's a lot of good stories in this game at all levels.

Powers work differently in PvP. EVERYTHING works differently in PvP. This includes PvP zones.

You are not a fighter. You are not a mage. You are not a cleric, rogue, monk, or anything else like that. You're a *bleep*ing super hero. Even if you're fighting with an axe and shield, this is not a fantasy MMO. Things work different here.

Virtue and Union are the unofficial RP servers. They also tend to use the Pocket D zone for RP, and not as much for other things. That having been said, you can find non-RPers on those servers, and RPers on any of the other servers.

I have one AE arc where this would come in handy, but the boss currently just spawns the next version of himself elsewhere when he is defeated.
This is something I want as well, but I see it more as being able to set up a boss/ally to do something specific once a health marker is reached.

Possible actions: Surrender. Teleport away. Shift/change to a new character (much like some Council turning into Warwolves). Powerset change/shift.

Ah, but what if there's more than one BR user on a team? With a little bit of teamwork, you can have one person spreading the other person's Disintergrate effect.

That having been said, I find the mechanic too unrelyable to trust in it that much. I'm really not convinced that a chance to spread to up to three targets is going to work well enough. You can't plan on it happening every time, or even most of the time, like they show in the picture.
