For personal damage I'd recommend the Corruptor. Your debuff numbers are lower but the increased base damage + Scourge is substantial. The Corruptor will be dishing more damage on average, even with the addition of a damage buff while solo/on small teams for the Defender.

Have you considered Sonic Blast? The -res stacks fantastically with the -res in Freezing Rain and will boost everyone's damage even more. They recently added hand blast animations for the set, too. It's easy to see the Sonic as wind blasts, which goes well with Storm conceptually.

Back in the day, I soloed AVs with my Storm/Sonic Defender. I haven't tried since the change to pet recharge but either way it's still a very powerful combo.

I play an Ice/Icy as my main and have never felt gimped. It really is a "Jack of all Trades" combo; I can do just about everything, but in exchange for that I don't reach the peaks in any one area that another set might. I've done things like tank ITFs and solo Rikti Pylons with no temps/insps (prior to I20's new Incarnate abilities). Other Doms have done that, likely with less investment and greater ease, but I personally can't call a combo that lets me do that "gimp".

I think /Icy is perfect the way it is, if kind of end heavy. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing some tweaks to Shiver, Flash Freeze and (maybe) Jack Frost though. Those powers, to me, are the weak points of the set. None of them are bad per se; they just end up being overkill or don't help Ice Control shine.

As it stands you can basically skip Shiver if you take AA. What if Shiver had a secondary effect? Say -damage (like Chilling Embrace), -regen and/or -special (like Benumb), or had some mez capability? Perhaps it could be given a Fear component with a different animation. "You chill your enemies to the core, causing them to stop and tremble from the intense cold."

For Flash Freeze, I like the above suggestions. Remove the damage and delay, adjust the recharge and potentially the range. Leave it so that it generates aggro, but then it could be stacked.

Something about Jack Frost irks me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Like Ice/ itself he's a jack of all trades, but he just feels very "meh" to me. He draws a lot of aggro but isn't equipped well enough to survive it, his damage is nice but not great, though he does contribute to your mez ability. I think I'd like him more if he was either more survivable at the cost of some damage, or was made into a ranged pet that focused on damage/control. That's more a personal preference thing though.

Just wanted to chime in that I agree with everyone else in the thread. You didn't intend for it to happen (weren't even expecting it), and the fact that you bothered to post an apology speaks volumes about your character. I'd TF or team with you any time.

I know it can be tough to work in all the detail you want for a story like this (I have a love/hate relationship with the in-game bio space, which is roughly 200 words if I recall correctly). If you can keep the entry to 600 words or less that would be fantastic; but if you end up going over it a bit we'll still accept the entry. Use it as a guideline, but let your creativity flow!

Okay, technicality: 1 inf shy of a billion for each of those two e-mails. By claiming "part" of the influence, I mean only claiming one e-mail at a time, I.E. "part" of the 2.7 billion. When it comes to attachments you have to claim all or nothing, and it generally wont allow you to claim influence from an attachment if it would exceed the cap.

If I need to do long-term holding I can either stash the influence in WW, or claim the old e-mail and send it to myself again, thus renewing the 60 day limit.

We do have a very active collection of channels on the server. I'd recommend joining "Infinity Badges 2.0", "Inf Badge Seeker" and/or "Infinity TFs" if you're interested in task/strike forces, trials, and badging of any kind. "AE Anonymous" is a general purpose teaming channel that caters to every venue except AE missions. All three are good spots to check if you're looking for a team.

Saturday is TF day, and you can find posts in this forum recruiting ahead of time for MsCat's team. Rikti Mothership raids are every Sunday at 8 PM Eastern, though we usually have a pre-raid raid if you arrive early. There are costume contests every Wednesday in Pocket D, and Trivia contests starting this Thursday (also in Pocket D) too.

I was really impressed with last night's turnout; we started out with a big crowd, and still had one by the night's end. Hopefully that means you guys were having fun, enticed by the prizes, or both. We had Pocket D at nearly full capacity!
