On the clues front, why not have them grouped by contact in separate tabs?
-
I hate to necrothread, especially my own, but I didn't receive any answers - if the difficulty of unbeatable-and-unskippable missions were to be addressed {devs, I'm looking at you}, would there be a problem with the original suggestion?
-
I'd heartily recommend a mind controller - with a plethora of quickly recharging single-target mezzes, you can quickly and easily pick off the troublesome types before they cause too much trouble. Heck, with Confuse, you can subvert the lieutenants before the fight even begins - how do you like them PBAoE accuracy debuffs now? Even the oft-maligned Mesmerize has an accuracy boost and enough magnitude to one-shot a boss, effectively shutting down any toggles they might have active.
The downside is that you're trading off damage output for all the control, but a scrapper or three will easily fix that problem. -
You know the one I mean, where half the team ends up on one map and other half on the other. Is there a way to fix or at least prevent that? It's really annoying, not only to me but frequently everyone on my team.

Anyone know why I can't actually buy CoHAE on Steam? There's no price or buy button... I figured I'd pick up a couple of spare copies as gifts, but... no dice. Is it limited to the US?

As useful as it would be, there's no way to target_custom by rank, only name.

Well, considering that the OP pointed out that he hasn't been rushing his character and thus assuming he's not, in fact, an AE baby, it might be he's tired of the journey and just wants to cross the arbitrary finish line - can't blame him too much for that.
To the OP himself, a few problems - the questions forum isn't the place for this sort of thing. I'd recommend your server's subforum if you want to plan a team. However, I'd suggest simply forming one on the fly. Forcefield is a pretty big draw when it comes to PUGs and simply sending tells to players with their LFT flags up saying "Hi, I'm forming a Lv$level mission team, wanna help? I've got bubbles!" is likely to get you a good-sized team fairly quickly {semi-related: I love SSK!}. As for the missions themselves, there's several options - first is your contact missions. The pro is that they tend to have variety, the cons are that they can send you all over the place and need some work getting their contact numbers. There are also repeatables - the Rikti War Zone comes readily to mind. Borea always gives out missions inside the zone, and with the removal of level requirement, you can take both heroes and villains of any and all levels to said missions. The fact that you can rely on her to give you missions with Rikti, rather than more troublesome groups such as Circle of Thorns or Malta is also a plus. -
If I remember correctly, Astoria was fogless once due to a bug.
From what I can tell, the zone looks pretty damn ugly in normal light. -
Quote:Right, my oversight - not literally any in-game mob, current restrictions on usable mobs would still apply, such as comm officers, green mitos and so forth. If a mob can't be used in AE in its normal state, it shouldn't be usable in hybrid either.I think if they did it right, they would limit the mobs that you could choose, and it would be okay. Just wanted to point out that they couldn't just allow you to bring in any mob, since you could create whole custom groups with no attacks again, just with 'standard' powersets used by mobs in-game.
-
Right. One could argue that it would take too much effort on the devs' part to filter out humanoid and non-humanoid mobs, but I don't see the need - if there's a case of incompatible skeletons and animations, the powers would just fire without the appropriate animation.

So, in light of the Boom De Yada craze, the awesome video and so forth, I figure, why not a thread?
The premise is... well, creating a City of Heroes-themed BDY. Someone provides a line, then someone else provides another line and so forth, until the thread dies alone and unloved. You're welcome to contribute multiple posts, but don't hog the thread, 'mkay? For those unfamiliar with the song {and unable to click the link above}, the basic format is
- I love [three syllables]
- I love [three syllables]
- I love [three syllables]
- [Five syllables, may or may not start with "I love", rhymes with #2]
- I love the whole world
- [six syllables]
- Boom De Yada
- Boom De Yada
- Boom De Yada
- Boom De Yada
- Goto 1
I love blue buttcapes. -
I'm sure that most of us agree that the nerf to custom enemies in Architect arcs was a necessary one - the ability to tailor your enemies' abilities for minimum risk and maximum reward bordered on game-breaking. But we can also agree that, following the nerf, the only way to receive rewards on par with regular mobs is to crank up their abilities to the point where the risk dwarfs the regular one, eventually leading toward discouraging the use of custom mobs altogether, as many AE players will be driven away from arcs with severely unfavorable risk/reward ratios.
Thus, I propose what I believe may be the best of both worlds - when creating a custom critter, present the option to use the attributes of an in-game mob, rather than picking out specific powers. For example, let's say you want to create a custom mob named "Chrono Agent". You design the costume and once you do, you are presented with an option to use the powers and abilities of any in-game mob. So instead of selecting specific powers, you decide to use a say, a Tsoo Red Ink Man as the template for Chrono Agent's abilities. Everything about the Ink Man is transplanted onto Chrono - hit points, powers, level range, the works.
To all practical purposes, someone fighting Chrono Agents would be fighting say, Red Ink Men, but with appearances and biographies determined by the arc creator. Thus, because mobs created by the devs are {supposedly} balanced in the risk/reward department, there would be no reason not to grant rewards corresponding to the custom critter's template mob.
What does everyone think? Did I miss anything obvious? -
I need help designing a costume for a character who's apparently been transplanted from a {stereo}typical japanese RPG. You know the type - swords, bright colors, completely gratuitous accessories, the works. I already have a female version put together, but I'm having trouble making a male variant, partly because despite the scope of costumization, CoX doesn't have a hair model that's absurd enough.
Anyone have a suggestion or three? -
Until they found out that Paragon City was built around a small resort town called Silent Hill. And those villains you've been slaughtering?

Slightly off-topic, I keep seeing references to "Boom De Yada" lately... and I have no idea what it means.

Because devs hate villains?

You can save and load your window settings using the /win_save and /win_load commands.
You can also save and load your chat settings using the /chat_save and /chat_load commands.
You can also save your costume while in the costume creator or at the tailor and load it on another character if you want.
For anything else, you'll need to be a bit more specific.
