I wasn't here for issues 0-3 but I am pretty sure I remember the predownload thing being a new development with issue... something. 8? 9?

Yup, it's in the March Producer's letter, last paragraph.

No I didn't misunderstand I just forgot to put the "end" on "weekend." I think it's silly to cancel the run just because you JUST MIGHT happen to come up on the hunt mission at the same time that a zone event happens. It seems pretty unlikely to me. It's your run, so obviously you can do whatever you want, but I still think it's silly.

Oh good grief, the zone invasions are not constant - like the new Red Name said (btw, hi new red name!) they last 20 minutes. They also tend to happen once every 2-6 hours or something like that. So yes, some unlucky people will get caught trying to do a hunt during a zone event, but it's not like this is going to prevent anyone from doing the WST at all this weekend.

What I think most of us (if not all of us) gathered from that was, Manti and GW would be switching sides. I mean, we all know that Statesman is a giant jerkwad to Manticore on a regular basis, and we also know that GW really resents Recluse for all the crap he's put her through with her own spirit and Wretch.

Unfortunately, that's all that's ever happened regarding Manti, GW and Going Rogue. Was it just a temptation? Were they never really slated to switch sides? Was that a story line that got pushed to the side because of the Incarnate System?
I don't think there was ever anything to it. Manticore already did the side-switching thing as a ruse once (check out Mender Silos' arc/tf) and Ghost Widow can't really switch sides because she is forever linked to Arachnos.

Now this is an intuitive process; I don't have some explicit checklist 'o respect or anything. But basically my default setting is you get my respect, until you prove to me that you do not deserve it.

To people who say "I have no respect for you until you earn it" I say, "Thanks for letting me know that. I now have no interest in earning your oh-so-precious respect. Keep it, because you've just shown me that you don't deserve the respect I've already extended to you."
Same here. I don't subscribe to "respect is earned, not given." I subscribe to "respect is given. Disrespect is earned."

  11. Makes sense. I'm out of town all of next week and won't be able to play.

That's only true if we ignore other means besides market fees for removing inf from the system. The OP lists a bunch of them. For x Inf entering the system we could actually destroy it all without a single market transaction by converting it to prestige, deleting the toon, etc.

A more accurate statement would be that x Inf entering the economy takes at most 10x in market transactions to destroy.

  14. I think brophog02 just fulfilled the OP's request for nerdrage quite sufficiently. Good work.

The problem with that is that it's on a Thursday, and while, yes, we have had what is it...2 Thursday releases for Issues? I still think we're more likely for a Tuesday. Also, haven't we had long maintenances before without it being an Issue release? Could be some kind of preparation, or something totally unrelated.
    Yeah I can't read. Sorry.

Zwill crushed my hopes and dreams anyway so I'm going to go with your original post and say the 19th, too.

I'm going to guess April 19th. The Weekly Strike Target thread was recently updated with April targets, and ends at the 18th. Maybe they didn't want to tell us yet that the ones after that will be the new i20 TF/SF?
You realize there's a six hour server maintenance scheduled for tomorrow, right?

I have a feeling that with the growing popularity of televised MMA, a lot of shows like this will have to be more realistic in their depiction of fighting if they want to get viewers on board.
Amusingly the first thing I thought of when reading this was a scene from an episode of Buffy where she is complaining about the lack of realism in the fighting depicted in a kung fu movie...

I'm someone who has seen the movie and I disagree completely, and just because you agree doesn't mean that he understands anything except your opinion.

Just for the sake of everyone in this thread who doesn't seem to already know this:

Some people like some things that other people don't like. Your liking or not liking it doesn't hold any more weight than someone else's liking or not liking it, so get over yourself.

And no, I don't care how much you've heard about a movie from other sources, I will never give your opinion of the thing any credit whatsoever if you haven't actually seen it.

Although someone else can have the final word here, this is my summary: For Snyder's first original movie, Sucker Punch displays far too much debt to Brazil, from its visuals and themes to its finale, without showing he's fully understood his inspiration, a pattern in his career that has ripped off George Romero (and Dan O'Bannon) and knocked off Alan Moore.
Still don't see how you're qualified to make that statement without having actually seen the movie.

You're not. It's one of the items on the "big three" post I made a page or so back in the thread (and I know others have suggested it in the past, I'm not trying to take credit for it). I think it's an absolutely critical feature that must be on the roadmap for any significant improvements to the system.

I've been away from this thread for a while so I apologize for the delayed response to this - however I never said only a few people would benefit, I said only a (relatively) few people would use the feature.

Again, you are not going to convince the people who control the development schedule that they should pour resources into something that only a handful of players use based on the argument that other players benefit from that, because it's not going to be much of a selling point to those who only benefit from it (especially when that benefit is dependent upon what the few using it actually do, not what they can do). It's only a selling point to those who will actually use it.

Which is why I feel the argument that needs to be made is to make the system available to be used by all players, not just a benefit to all players.

That doesn't matter. The point Zombie Man was making is that you do not gain any hit points by gaining a level shift, and therefore you have not gained a level.
