Was the in-game store down when this happened? I've noticed that when the store is down, the 15 second delay is gone. I'm not sure exactly how those two things are related, but it's been pretty consistent.

I thought that it was supposed to launch today. In some of the materials that I read I thought they actually announced the date as July 1st, 2011. I have not noticed any changes as of today.
Anybody else read that? Or am I just going crazy?

Uh, Spider Man has been the flagship character for Marvel pretty much since his creation. Cap is a bigger figure to the characters inside the Marvel Universe, but Spidey has never been second rank to him as far as the "face of Marvel."

In an earlier trailer they showed the exact same scene with him in the alley getting beat up and saying "I can go all day." (or some such, I may have misquoted) as a skinny kid.
So, I don't see why you'd think he'd be a scared little kid who becomes a hero. With that scene alone it seemed like a "little kid who wasn't afraid to get his butt kicked" -

Didn't really care about this movie at first, but seeing that bit (and the plot line) intrigues me. That is the kind of thing that makes them a hero, more than being some big guy that can punch stuff.

Too early to tell, not enough information. It could work the way you describe, but it could also mean something like freebies only get one market slot, or can only buy but not sell, or can only make transactions up to a certain value...
I think we need to get the details before we can really make any educated guesses about the effects. -

Neither, really. Burton's Batman was a far superior film over the first two (badly written) Superman films, but both the Superman and Batman films were still in the "a comic book movie has to be comic" era. And look at the sequels -- Superman III and IV, Supergirl and the Schumaker Batman sequels pretty much killed the trend.
Blade was mostly unknown outside of the core fans -- it was a good action/vampire flick that happened to be based on a comic. I think X-Men was really the one that got things rolling because it took characters who were clearly from comic books and treated them mostly seriously. Spider-man followed up that success showing that you could actually use the costume. -

Sure. The point is Villains got screwed at the beginning and it hurt us later on. It's a case of life imitating art, too. Villains always lose at the end of the comicbook.

I have only one character that I'm going gung-ho after Incarnate powers (the rest of my 50's are on the "I'll get it when I get it" plan) so I fully anticipate getting most, if not all, of the available Lore pets for her. Because what... Rularuu? Storm Elementals? Carnies? HOW DO I CHOOSE?
