Aww. Next week would be so fun. I want to try the team thing.
And nice winners from the Tuesday contest: there were a lot of great GA costumes! -
That's pretty good! I'll like to see more of these.

Malleable Mechanic/Bayani (still can't get over the IG fun of that) as team up. Versus? I'm starting to picture my new character Sandsweight, but not who he'd fight.
-
(Too lazy to keep updating the "current listing" at the top of the thread so I erased it.)
Slightly updated a two of my entries and I'm sure a couple others might have been altered a well, so keep paying attention! -
Much looking forward to this: expect either Malleable Mechanic or National Capital. Can't decide who at the moment.
-
Hold up! I think the record's broken.
:P
Of course, I couldn't agree more with everyone about the stuff you're showing off. Great catches! -
How's Imperial City for you guys? On Virtue, I know some people that can't lift so much as a finger there lest they get dc-served.
-
That's a winner.
I haven't checked any engrish sites in so long! You must submit it! -
OK, I allowed myself one more inspitation-filled toon. But no more!
Sandsweight borrows small portions from the Sandman, Juggernaut and (if only for the fact it's a Brute AT) the Hulk. (What's with bad guys having the cooler powers? Seriously! ...Hulk is actually a hero, so at least there's one.) -
I just posted about the Malleable Mechanic to another thread (the iconic characters one), but I figure I should here as well. He's the only character I have with some sort of comic-book reference at all (and not even a hero at that), with the rest being as creative and original as possible.
It's a long shot, but idea about MM having his rubber-like body came from an old Avengers arc where the Absorbing Man was involved: the villian used his powers to change into the rubber of a tire bumper during a short fight with Hawkeye.
Of course, the Mechanic isn't a villian and he doesn't have the same powers, but that was the jumping point I needed. -
Before anything, I've been trying to figure out a way of posting this kind of topic for a while, but my over-creative streak prevented me from figuring out a "normal" way of doing so. Thank you.
1. Malleable Mechanic, Invuln/WM/Leaping Tanker, Heroic. He's the son of a retired hero who now owns a shop in Atlas. Unfortunately, from the time he was born he was plagued with skin rashes that could only be kept at bay with medicinal cremes and the like. That was until, however, a reaction with his skin, the cream, and some spilled fuel (possibly even a hidden mutation that triggered, you heard it here first!) caused his body to transform into an organic rubber-like material. Although he was hesitant at first to use his new powers for the greater good, he has since grown accustomed to running around Paragon City and tackling problems with "one fix at a time".
A lot of people really like him for some reason or another: for his bio, for his "costume", for everything. People tell me he's relatable and more so than certian actual heroes of the stretching category (to which I say "not really stretching, but just really flexible and bouncy" :<). Even though he's basically a guy with tire-skin who carries a big wrench, drinks oil and plays hero most of the day, he still works at the shop when his old man's busy and has other human vulnerabilities. Perhaps it's the fact that he's still a "normal guy" at the end of the day makes him stand out.
2. Cumulatrole, Storm/Elec/Flight Defender, Heroic. A teenager from Canada who has made Paragon City his home: when he manifested his powers as a cloud-like mutant, he ran from his previous life to start anew. It was difficult for him to adjust and for the longest time he didn't trust others, but meeting Gravity Blast and being inducted into the New Age Mutants has helped him grow into a stronger-willed person.
Hands down, RPing from 5' human to 8' cloud-man in a big poof and watching everyone's reaction is as iconic as you can get with this guy. Great party trick, I assure you, but to be honest: the 8-footer actually came first. Once I got the second slot the whole concept really went forward. -

Glad to hear it you had fun with it. I'll keep a look out just in case you don't end up sending.
-
Good stuff on all the things you've been working on of my commishes.
The fact that you went the direction you did on Mechanic gives me a bit more confidence in what I planned for him in game. (Though it's still not set in my mind yet.)
*thumbs up*
PS: Would you mind sending me the links to all the "final versions" once you're done? -
Reminder that this is tonight. Let's prove the doomsayers wrong.

This is starting to become relevant again.
I've been working on The Northern Watch in DJ13's absence (I was passed the lead to it a week or so ago), but in general I'm finding Canadian themed characters cropping up everywhere. -
Caem, you're missing out.
Great new stuff again! I'll need to try and get there when the line isn't long: I have another alt I want you to take on! :O -
I'll try to be there with the Northern Watch to spectate, though I might have family over and there's a cossie I want to enter.
Ah well, can't win 'em all! -
Nice!
I'll have to cross these colors back over to the Protags and see what they think! (Just hope Phantom Marvel won't mind ;O) -
Posted this once IG on the Virtue CCs channel, might have to go into overdrive. See you in 45 minutes!
