yes, to kill each wave. It is very challenging to say the least. Mine is designed to debuff the daylights out of anyone in range. And lets just say people at the def cap will be seeing a lot more numbers than they are used to. My SD/Fire tank (not quite soft cap but 40% until he gets all of his sets) got debuffed to the point of -95 def which iirc is the defense debuff floor. Anyone have any numbers on -def floor?

Well the title pretty much sums up what I want this character to do, but I'm not quite happy with the build. I was shooting for Perma hasten and AM as well as capped range defense, but I only managed to get the defense in. Can anyone come up with a build that has perma hasten and am as well as capped range def? Here's what I had:

That is assuming that hasten and power surge are activated at the same time. If hasten is fired off during power surge's effect, then it will be fine. especially considering hasten has less of a down time than power surge.

I think I've tried Arcana when AE first came out. It was the one that you need to find a glowie before all the ambushes came. I wasn't sure if the goal was to just get the glowie or to clear everything because getting to the glowie was easy but the ambushes were too crazy. The last wave is like Energy Melee + Radiation + self rez?

And do you do them at relentless level? I did that one at relentless and the bosses were 54.
No, mine has only one EB and the rest are all min-boss. If AVs were something I wanted in here, then the amount of difficulty could skyrocket to the point where no single character could beat it. This is designed to be extremely difficult, but doable once the ambush triggers are well thought out and timed.
  6. I recently tried out Arcana's challenge mission and let me say...it delivered. So much in fact, that I was inspired enough to go and made one of my own, which I think is even more challenging. Now it still needs some tweaks here and there, but it has been published, and I was wondering if any of you AV soloing indestructable types would want to try it out and give me some feedback. Keeping in mind it's not 100% finished, I want to know what people do or do not like about it. Thanks in advance for anyone who tries it and apologies for the debt you WILL get if not lvl 50. The arc is #310845 and titled Pyro Master's challenge.

So I made a build on mids taking soul mastery, fighting, fitness, speed, etc. and I got myself to 57% resistance to s/l, 42% res to fire/cold/neg/psionic, and 96% to energy. I also have like 15-25% defense to most everything.

I was wondering if this would be high enough to take the alpha? I'll have power surge on for 3 minutes, and then a 2 minute or so cooldown. I was also wondering if its possible to completely sap big groups in a long fight. It seems easily possible if I use power sink like twice. Ooh and would you all suggest taking Dark Obliteration for a 3rd AoE, or darkest night? Thanks in advance!
On the topic of fitness on an ELA, you won't need it. Sorta. After you get power sink and you get it slotted for recharge and later end mod, you won't need stamina. And Energize being added with a 2min recharge will help that even more. So just keep that in mind when you get this character up into the thirties, because you can free up space for some more useful powers. Just keep in mind that you will still need to slot like any other brute and keep some amount of end discount on your attacks and toggles.

EDIT* Dark Consumption will also help rid you of the need for stamina. Especially with lightning reflexes making it recharge faster

This is what I read. The OP had a quote from a dev(posi or babs, I forget which, but it doesn't matter really) that said exactly this. So each AT is getting a NEW SET and each set with 4 powers is getting a NEW POWER. I am not sure how villains will get any new sets though. LR patron maybe?

  11. Yeah, the build was for a revemped resepc at 50, as that is the point in which I usually IO my characters. Bone Smasher was originally taken at lvl 2 on the character in game.

That is true, but in his defense, I don't think that Kioshi claimed the second one was soft capped. Thanks for the replies either way tho

EDIT** oh, and he can temporarily soft cap with shadow meld. I was going to use that in the original build, but once I found a way to perma soft cap I dropped the power and upped the defenses a slight bit more so that def debuffs wouldn't hurt as bad
  13. Well from what I understand, that would break the cottage rule.
  14. I just made this build, and while I know it is expensive, I think I can handle it in a few weeks. It has capped def to everything except AoE (barely) and it has a decent amount of +rech and accuracy. I basically tried making a very survivable stalker while not giving up too much dmg so that he could play like a scrapper with auto crits at the start of a fight. I figure with AS ET and TF i can blow through solo play like nothing (not that stalkers have a problem with that anyways) while still being valuable on a team. Any suggestions on how to improve him would be much appreciated. And I am rather new at making high usage out of IO sets, but I think I did really well on this one. Thanks in advance for any help.

I was thinking the same thing. With 2 PBAoE dmg toggles and 2 AoEs in earth (fault Target AoE and tremor PBAoE) when it combines with fire/ it will be a forced to be reconed with. Not to mention fault can help with soft control to keep groups not attacking you. If anyone has modified mid's yet to add earth assault, I would love to see a build posted with fire/earth. As far as I can tell, needing stamina is its only drawback from /psi.
  18. I know that defense will help survivability as well, but I like to mix up my tactics on toons, and my SD/Fire tank has soft-capped def to all positional attacks. Because of that I want to try going with a tank that has intense healing capabilities. Thank you for the build though, if I get enough money on that server (still new on that one and not much $ yet) I might try out the defensive build.
  19. OK, I did the sloppy export, here's an easier read one that also has the code to copy into mid's

  20. I started up a WP/DM tank the other day and thought I might try to use IOs to increase his regeneration rate. Now I'm new to using extensive amounts of IO sets on my builds, as I don't normally have the attention span to find the best bonuses while keeping actual effectiveness of the slotting up. I basically frankenslot all of my powers when i do use IOs. So anyways, here is my attempt at making a non-purpled +regen +hp WP/DM tank. Any advice on the build or any estimates on cost would be appreciated. By the way, this build is not intended for leveling, but as a respec at 50 when I will actually have access to the lvl 50 versions of the enhancements. Thank you in advance for any help.

EDIT:*build on next post, exported it wrong at first

No, the article just says that brutes and stalkers still have to wait for lvl 28. Scrappers will get it at 20, and tanks at 12. The article states that it is getting swapped with lightning reflexes in power choice order on hero side

This power looks like it is really going to help elec a lot. No more medicine

My energy/elec/mu brute has a farming mish with all pb and bots from PPD that deal only energy and s/l. He's just about untouchable in there. And if you do go with fiery aura, a patron aoe immob power will allow you to use burn as an actual damage dealer.
