Now, Wiki isn't messed up. I believe Lohenien confused merit rolls for ticket rolls with his reply.

As for why 10-14, there's no good reason for rolling that range when it comes to merit rolls. AE ticket rolls on the other hand can yield the various drops that Lohenien listed earlier.

I be knowin' what you're talkin' about, hehe
  3. Well I had to suggest the idea at least, in case it stemmed from the same problem. I logged out a short time ago, but I'll hop on again and see if I have any trouble with the WW and BM.

EDIT: Okay, logged in multiple toons on both red and blue that had stuff to sell, stuff to pick up from the market, or both. None had any issue with either the WW or BM.
  4. Had you just claimed a lot of bought items or picked up the Inf from a lot of sold items? If so, this is a known issue. Whereas when you used to "overload" the market all you got was a message saying to try again in a few moments, now the market goes kaput on you and the only current fix is to reload your client. There's apparently a fix on Test for this, but no idea when it'll go live.

If you hadn't just "overloaded" the market, then I'm at a loss. My market use has been fine all day.

    cursor issue

I'm no expert, but it sounds to me like you're suffering from an overworked CPU, which is causing your cursor to lag. Either that, or its related to the 'disappearing cursor' issue that people have run into with i17.

If you haven't already, try adding the -compatiblecursors command line to your desktop shortcut, in the same way that -test is added to allow access to the test server.

Right-click the launcher shortcut on your desktop, choose "Properties", followed by the "Shortcut" tab, then in the "Target" window, add the command line to the end so it looks something like this:
    "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CoHUpdater.exe" -compatiblecursors

Note that the location of your CoH install may vary, but the above is the default location.

So, this may not fix your problem, but it may help. The compatiblecursors command line forces the game to utilize the basic mouse cursors that Windows uses, which may end up being smoother for you since they're [by default] not colored or textured.

  7. As a preventative measure to avoid running into this again, at least until the fix goes live, don't use the "Get All Inf" button when collecting from large amounts of separate sales and try to avoid collecting too many bought items in a short period of time. Instead, click each "Get Inf" button separately and collect bought items one by one, waiting a few seconds between large stacks. It takes a little more time, but its worked so far for me.

level 33's or lower are the best. IMO
Depends on how much time you spend being exemp'd down. Personally, unless I know a toon will be played much more at levels where level 50 set bonuses don't apply, I always slot for 50. Most people I play with tend to follow the same philosophy.

Oh, and I bid 10 million Inf with a three cookie bonus for timely delivery to my front door.

I know that the storage items default to the Super Leader rank because in a couple of groups I was using at Issue 13 needed that rank to change settings. You can't change your own rank permissions.
My apologies for butting in here, but if storage items default to SL rank when placed, then why when I place new bins do they start with both SL and the second tier rank marked and not just SL? Should that not be or so?

Probably Monday would be my guess, but they may hold off until the regular server maintenance. I wouldn't be too surprised at that. Apparently there's a fix on Test right now, so provided that works out fine it'll be pushed to Live as quick as they can more than likely.

I'm just saying that we, as Base Builders, need to put aside our fears that if we speak up, they'll take away things like they did to the Base Raiders. Call it fear, call it cautionary reluctance. Whatever.
Um...where are you getting fear from? No one has ever been reluctant to ask their questions or ask for (and yes, even demand) changes. If you think the community is scared of the devs, then I think that you are sorely mistaken.

I hadn't thought of that, but now that you mention it that could very well explain it. But still, getting a temp power recipe and a regular recipe from the same mob defeat seems odd if the temps are part of one of the regular pools.

I hope these aren't taking the place of other drops. Is this a separate pool?
I'm going to go with the assumption that they are a separate drop pool from standard recipe drop pools. My reasoning for that is the fact that three times now I've gotten a regular recipe drop and a temp power recipe from the same mob. Unless something about the drop pools isn't WAI, that would lead me to believe that they are in a pool of their own.
  15. Ditto. Including both the old and the new Temp recipes, I've had about thirty drop across the 3-4 toons I've played most since Wednesday. I'm definitely liking the drop rate, but I'm wondering if its only temporary in an effort to build up a supply of the new ones before the drop rates get returned to where they were prior to i17. Hopefully not, but the thought has occurred to me a couple of times...
  16. I have to agree with combustibear in that you don't speak for all of us.

Because I noticed you did not speak against any of my points.
I'll mention one thing against your post. I highly doubt that we would get, and probably would not want, an entire Issue devoted to nothing but base improvements. Sure we'd get some nifty stuff, but I'd much rather have new content, new powersets, etc. Not to mention, the die hard base building community isn't big enough to warrant an entire Issue. Yes, there are lots of bases. But by and large, most that I've seen are simply functional because most people would rather just have the bare necessities and play the game instead of spending hours upon hours designing their base.

And before you berate me for the above, yes I am an avid base designer, but I also understand that a base Issue would be unlikely and would probably generate a lot of flak from people who could care less about their bases, and they are the majority.

Now, I'm all for giving us new toys to play with in the base and I'd love to be able to have proper water and clear glass (among other things), not to mention something I could use to make a better looking stargate in my base, hehe. But not at the cost of alienating the rest of the player base that doesn't consider base editing to be a priority, which is what an entire Issue devoted to bases would cause. Instead, give us those new toys as part of future Issues.
  17. I'd appreciate if it were put back the way it was or if we had the old version returned to us in addition to this "new" one. Sadly, I doubt that it would happen, considering we have yet to get blank glass plates or a blank logo for those plates after the "fix" to them a while back

  21. Ah, okay. For some reason my brain train didn't take that fork in the tracks, hehe. My bad XD

There are ways to farm Ouro arcs that give merits for purples.
Merits for purples? You can't buy purples with merits, nor get them from random merit rolls (the same also applies to tickets). The only way that you can get purples with merits is to buy recipes that someone wants with your merits, then trading those recipes for the purples the other person has. Not very conducive to making Inf if you ask me.
  23. Fair enough. Your results may not be the long-term or general average, but its still quite sound. And your results are based on recorded numbers, as opposed to the 1/1500 I'd heard that was given more as conjecture and had no statistics to back it up. So I'd put more credence in the 1/3000 at this point, heh.

one purple (~3000 kills) per hour
Isn't it more like 1500 kills? I can't recall where at the moment, but that's the number I've seen most regarding purple drop rates.

For some farmers at least. Your average farmer probably clears 1mil/hr and they would be the majority I'd think. On the other hand, there are the "hardcore" farmers that probably have little left to do in the game but get rich or die trying. Those farmers can clear significantly more than 1mil/hr, but that's pretty much all they do is farm.

I don't consider myself a farmer by an means, but I do usually run around the wall in Cim at least once per play session until my recipe and salvage sacks are full. If I'm bored or in need of extra Inf, I might do more than one run, but that might be once in two weeks that I'd do that. Either way, those runs have been known to clear me in excess of 500mil per run, each of which takes around 30 minutes. To be fair, that's not the norm, but I average probably 3-6 purples a week courtesy of those Romans.

So yeah, regular farming for drops can still make a heck of a lot more than merit farming and rolling for recipes/salvage. The difference is probably more one of luck than anything else though. Many players have never had a purple drop since they were brought into the game, while some others may have my luck of getting several per week.

I'd be of the opinion that it would come down to choosing between luck and the possibility of huge earnings, or going for the certified (but possibly significantly lower) income that merit rolls can bring you.

Oh, and Frost, enjoying the sunshine down there? Nice to see spring finally arrived on the South Coast, hehe.
