Quote:Oh man, I didn't even THINK of this! LOL IMOA...another patch that has destroyed a great game.I'm curious: Do people prefer the markets now, where it takes hundreds if not thousands of millions of inf. to buy one set, or the markets before, where it took weeks of sitting on bids to fill out the same set? Without ticket farms, the market blue-side would still be a barren sandheap, and given basic economic principles, would still have hyper-inflation.
As for AE PLs... The devs have been making the gave steadily more PL friendly for a long time now. This won't stop anything. -
I can not see how ANYONE likes this patch. This is just another NERF by the Development team to, what I think annoy the people they STILL have!!! We pay for this garbage...another reason to cancel accounts, now let the Forums Hounds have at it. LOL It seems to me that the only people the Dev's listen to, are some of the Forum people. For God sakes, doesn't a game developer try and make the game more fun, not worse. Ever since I have played this game, it's NERF here and NERF there. WHATEVER, nobody at NCSoft has EVER listen to what I say anyways. One more thought, doesn't a game Developer try and get a loyalty base? Doesn't seem these people have an ever will!

I agree with your general ideas with Plant/Thorn being great at AOE's, but I think you could do some things better.
Aid Other doesn't really need to be 6 slotted imo, unless you want to focus on healing your teammates every once in a while. Does it really need 6 slots? Some of your attacks are underslotted. Either more end reductions or recharges would help your damage or endurance problems.
A comment on Roots:
I think it's completely awesome. I have Roots, Fling Thorns, Thorn Burst, AND Dark Obliteration from my Patron Set. I am very much glad they are all there. They don't move, and I can slam the aoe's into them until they die.
Some more comments on slots:
Fly Trap doesn't really need immobilize increases. Sure, his immobilize is sometimes useful, but how often does he use it at exactly the right time? Does he even immobilize in the middle of the mobs? Probably not. Those two slots could be better focused into single target attacks like Skewer, Ripper, or Thorn Barrage if you actually took it.
And btw, Thorn Barrage is awesome, does as much damage as Skewer, and activates faster than Impale. Sure, it's range is shorter, but I don't miss Impale.
Also, medicine isn't as necessary as you may think it is. I had Aid Self on my Plant/Thorn for a long time. I dropped it later and all I have to keep me alive is the patron shield, health, stealth and Spirit Tree. That works good enough. The only thing that gets me killed is bad application of seeds of confusion, such as it not affecting a boss I don't see, or if I mess up the cone, and only a couple are confused. Don't be afraid to drop Medicine to get more control or damaging powers.
Plant/Thorn with AOE's is definitely the way to go, but you don't have to let your single target damage suffer to complete this goal. -
Actually, I think the -fly was added to pretty much every dom immobilize power(fire circle recently), and -fly on a fly only character is the easiest way to get kills.
My dom had flight originally, but impale destroyed me. With how many spines scrappers there are, you really can't afford flight as a squishy villian.
For squishies- Impale only gets countered by a break free, combat jump, or aid self and some way to get out of melee range.
One of my favorite things to do in PVP is bring down fliers and let my teammates destroy them. Flight has it's uses, but Super Jump is still the best way to go. -
I absolutely love the guide. It's really in depth and does cover a lot of things that I had not thought about or valued as well.
How would you build for PVP?
I basically have the same power choices and same slotting, except I didn't get leadership because of detoggling reasons, and other more important pool powers, like medicine. This causes the necessity for 2 accuracies in attacks, and this makes me curious how you would slot:
Neurotoxic Breath
Thugs
Enforcers
Bruiser
Oh, and how do you feel about gang war in PVP? I have a feeling that it isn't all that useful. The recharge time is too high in my eyes.
