Heh, Justice has a party too. Look at the stickied post on the top (I don't tend to look there either).

I'll be at work as well :P
I suppose the best form of protection is abstinence. -
Quote:So you're saying we should bring protection?I trust all of you Justice super people to be wary and vigilant! The carnies are up to no good and we know that their little party hides more nefarious activities! Fill your inspiration inventory with greens and awakens and don't let them deceive you! They're not the sort to throw a party without expecting anything in return from you and the price could well be...your soul!
Sounds like my kinda party! -

It always seems to me like whenever someone complains that their vid card has kicked the bucket, it is a Nvidia card.
Maybe it's just me. -
Student day job + Hospital day job = Trolls Gone Wild Accolade.
Ability to summon troll rave in a gang war style party. 20% of the spawn will attack your team as well.
.01% chance that BaBs will also spawn and ruin your party. -
OK so now it's a new year and we have a new lead dev. Is there going to be any feedback publicly about how well these PvP changes have gone over?
Let me see, in the time that the PvP changes have come out, Justice PvP has totally died. Everyone who PvPs has migrated to Freedom. Even our PvPEC League event is being held on Freedom. Calls for PVP support have died. Justice couldn't even muster a 4v4 8 team Tourney and had to scale back to a 2v2. Justice is the third most busy server so I shudder to think what the other servers below Justice have gone through.
Most marketing and other sales successes usually make statements about how much changes or new products have done over the past few months. Eg. Freem, now with 20% moar mewbs!
A direct example of this that everyone will be familiar with is here: (emphasis is mine)
Quote:and...one of 39,000 authors currently taking advantage of the new system, introduced in April 2009, that lets players directly shape the world they inhabit...Instantly popular and widely praised...Once players were handed those tools on live servers, they immediately went crazy with their creations.
Quote:And with 62,000 arcs currently live in the system and more added each month, there's no shortage of quality examples to choose from.
Unfortunately I have seen ZERO posts supportive of i13 PvP changes in this thread. Everyone has agreed with Macskull, which itself is a rare occurrence.
I'd like to see some kind of statement of the population increases in the relevant PvP zones and arena matches to demonstrate how well the changes have gone over. I would love to see a direct statement saying "We've seen Protector RV populations go up 25% since PvP was introduced relative to the rest of the PvE population on Protector."
I would bet the only server that could possibly have any growth in PvP would be Freedom, since anyone of consequence in PvP is there now*. I haven't seen any statements regarding PvP being better now other those that are anecdotal at best, or personal claims that cannot be verified or may be fringe views.
Since we cannot ask for polls and we cannot call out the devs, I would just like to say that I think that PvP has been critically important for this game even though most of the PvE population has rejected PvP and PvP players.
If there is no way that the devs can prove that PvP has gotten more popular since the i13 changes, I would suggest that they listen carefully to all the experienced PvPers who are suggesting reversions to the least appealing aspects of the i13 changes.

Quote:Your friend should have just used a server transfer to put the level 50 onto a server s/he will never visit just in case the bug comes back. I'm just saying this since server transfers are free for the time being.A friend of mine deleted his only level 50 Hero, and he can still make Kheldians. I'm posting this because I know that has come up as a question before.
Of course, if we get a repeat of the bug where you can't make a Kheldian unless you log on an existing 50 first, we expect him to lose his option. Until then, he seems to be able.
Would save a trip to support to get things figured out if s/he ever gets locked out of HEATs. -

Well, it really depends on the skill level and focus of your team.
During the early game you don't know what you're doing so any power together looks like a good idea.
Then you learn that some powers have certain effects so you use them, like Ice Slick.
Then you find out that some powers don't necessarily synergize well in terms of effects, like Frostbite and Ice Slick.
Then you get good enough at control that it doesn't matter that you use them both together because the mobs are locked down hard enough, usually by turning on something like Arctic Air or Grav Anchor procs.
Then you find out that you have so much control anyhow that the only point to all of those great control powers is to herd as much as you can to a single kill point or over aggro to the team so you can get things done faster by doing more AoE damage.
Then you wind up combining all of that together in order to try and kill the team since there is almost no chance of the team wiping unless you deliberately try to get a whole mob full of +2 and up Bosses and EBs into a tight little ball of aggro. Otherwise you'll fall asleep.
Spamming the EQ and Ice Slick is a great place to slow the mobs and not just knock them down in order for you to 'deposit' herds where the team is busy defeating them so you can grab more mobs. Using AoE immobs is just part of the fun.
Usually you have problems when you work with people of varying experience. IE. seasoned and jaded veterans shouldn't be avalanching newbs with 6-8 mobs in a little tiny blob...
...unless you have Vengeance/PBU/Fallout....
the rez is optional. Just kidding. -

Actually, I lied.
I have no idea when Cho's birthday is. Well I just remembered it was a month or two ago.
I just wanted him to see this:

Wait a second, no one ever wants to team with me.
Glad its because I am a Canadian.
Then again, maybe not. -
I copied both apps and the VM to my iMac and it didn't crash so I started digging into it further to find what the configuration differences were between the iMac and the Mac Pro (2008).
After pruning out my extensions folder and reapplying a combo update I still couldn't boot both without panicing, so I started toying with some configuration changes.
I had pulled the RAM and also changed the boot drive from my RAID (to my backup) to test whether it was flakey hardware but nothing had improved.
Turns out that I can reliably boot both now only when I set my boot kernel to 32-bit mode. If I use 64 bit mode booting I can replicate my kernel panic on the Mac Pro. I couldn't verify this with my iMac, as it is the 2007 model which doesn't support 64 bit EFI booting.
So I guess it is a 3-way interaction between Parallels 5, City of Heroes, and Apple. I suppose I can chuck in transgaming as another third party.
Note that in 64-bit kernel mode I can run both CoH and PD5 XP fine separately but not together at the same time.
Some people may not see a big difference in speed but in certain apps there is indeed a measurable difference.
If anyone has the ability to verify my findings, I'll submit the bug reports to Parallels and to Ghost Falcon and Apple. -
