    Herding Tank

Herding is pretty specific in usage nowadays.

Herding in those cases are meant as a deposit mob into the kill zone so the herder can run away and bring more mobs. This usually means there are other aggro holders in the kill zone or else slow/immobilizers in the zone.

Justice uses a herd-to-spot during the GM phase of hami raids and herd-to-center for ship raids in order to maximize the number of incoming mobs while the raiders are massed together. It increases the chance of a wipe but it is really fun. Lost count at 28 Rikti Magi once during a wipe but no guts, no glory.

    Obviously yer doin it wrong.
  5. I dunno if there was ever a trading channel specifically for Justice, but if there was/is it's probably napping or ded.

I don't think it's against the rules to advert in JU/JFA2010 but you'd have to ask a mod about that.

Of course, you can prolly advert in the markets subforum.

Don't see it having a huge affect on prices in the long run, but availability should be better. Wiping price histories will probably have a bigger affect.

Depends on which side and what item. Some will drop others will spike for a while but probably wind up not that different than it is now.

So, basically, a little bad for the Blues a lot of happy for the Reds (meaning characters, since most players play both sides). All in all, this is likely a push for me (and most people who regularly play both sides), my Reds can get stuff they want for less, my blues are fairly well established and can buy what they need (within reason) for the most part.
Some prices might rise sharply, but I noticed that many items on red side didn't trend up when blue prices did. For example level 10 BotZ -kb spiked up to 350-500M (hehe) but the redside market limped along at 100M. Blue side supply had some salvage shortages as well so Red supply might help some items too.

Almost...the crossbar on the E doesn't go all the way and the spur on the R is straight. Looks like a Eurostile Extended knockoff.

Yup, there's not a lot of situations where you'd find that invisibility is better than superspeed+stealth proc. SS+proc means you are saving a power selection and also a power pool (not that a fire/kin would take the maximum number of pools anyhow).

In order to get invisibility you'll have to get grant invis or stealth before that, and you cannot attack while invis'd.

Even with invis rikti drones will see you anyhow, but if you are spotted with ghetto invis at least you can fight back.

I think the only place where invis works better is against GMs. You'd need triple stacked stealth in order for them to not to see you, or invisibility.

I'm afraid whenever I read what the devs write on the forum it always comes across like a team of modders, working on someone elses game and still trying to figure out how it works.

"Hey guys I just figured out power X works in such and such way! I'll put a quick fix in the next patch." Sure, it would be okay occasionally, but where is the damn VISION? What about saying at a Dev meeting: "Okay guys, we are going to do a serious review of all the Buff/Debuff powersets, make sure the numbers are right and update any old powers which were designed 6 yrs ago and are still crap." I mean.. where. is. it. Why does this never happen? *sigh*
Probably because the codebase is held together with baling wire and twine, and the fact that this MMO was developed by a small team of MMO n00bs probably more than 10 years ago.

    Articles from 2001:
    http://www.escmag.com/features/cityofheroes_int.cfm
    http://rpgvaultarchive.ign.com/featu...ofheroes.shtml

Arcana can give a lot more insight than I can about the mechanics and sometimes poor implementation and the history behind it but suffice it to say that odds are the devs aren't sitting in their office every day doing a lot of nothing.

If you've ever seen a small underfunded team working under the gun to put out a product, you'll pretty much realize that it is near impossible for that kind of structure to put out quality, maintainable code with documentation. The fact that this game ever got published and popular at all is an achievement in itself.

At this point the guys coming into the company are trying to clean up and maintain the system while trying to improve things without seriously messing up 6 years of player experiences. This is probably the reason why it's difficult to implement the changes to the system and why the devs are pretty reluctant to update things wholesale (still trying to figure out i13 PvP changes though).

You have every right to complain about how things are working or not working, but the people who are in the trenches slaving away aren't at fault for it. If you're going to blame anyone you should blame management.

Do you have a quote that it will be fixed? It seemed like a fairly intractable problem/exploit last I heard. I thought it was filed in the 'known bugs but we can't touch it without bringing down the Jenga system known as CoX'.
