In other news. I seem to remember playing on Justice *and* Virtue. While Virtue is the unofficial RP server, is there also a fairly active RP group on Justice?
I also seem to remember the LBGT friendly server was the same as the RP server, I keep thinking it was Justice, but that may just be me latching onto the wrong server name.

Anywho, oldbie, back after almost 5 years, wondering if I count as a newbie since so much has changed. (and I have fuzzy memories of what I did play!)
There's enough changes since issue 4 that you'd probably want at least a month of hard core playing before considering being a mentor. Of course YMMV since the basic mechanics of the game are still the same.

    Changes since i4:
    • Enhancement diversification
    • Auction House
    • Invention Origin Enhancements
    • Set Bonuses
    • Side switching
    • Merits/Tickets etc.
    • PvP changes
    • Ultra Mode
    • Powerset Proliferation
    • Suppression
    • Globals
    • TF/SF/Master of.../Hami changes/additions
    • Temp powers out the yin yang
    • Day jobs/Badges/Accolades
    • Perk packs and costume sets
    • Base building changes
    • Praetoria/New Zones/Updated Zones
    • VEATs
    • Zone invasions/events

and probably a whole slew of other stuff I forgot.

  3. Some people like to pick at a scab until the wound bleeds again. I don't ask why someone would do that but collectively done it could be a social experiment as well.

    Hi and welcome to Justice!

Not gonna last but time to partay.

Edit: Mac's post confirms my suspicions about him.
  6. Banning the nukes is bad juju since people are expecting a single and consistent set of game rules (one of the reasons why pvp is doa).

The AV could be made more resistant to nukes (either stacking doesn't work on him or he is specifically more resistant to the nuke debuff effects)

The larger issue is that teams that cannot drop him in the first two rounds have very little hope of finishing him at all. For a trial with an hour timer this means that the CoP timer may as well be on a twenty minute timer.

Consider lengthening the timer between reinforcement rularuu spawns each time they come. This would add breathing space for weaker teams and eventually lengthen the window that the AV could be vulnerable. Of course the effects of this specific change wouldn't be noticeable until 5+ rounds in, but it would give hope for teams fighting an epic battle that the AV would 'let up' a little. Without hope the teams will just give up since they know that their best shot was their only shot, and if they miss it it's game over.

Personally I believe this game is too easy but there has to be a balance and opportunity between the haves and have nots.
  7. Heh you're averaging 1 post a year.

Wow...there's a huge amount of stuff that's changed.

The biggest things I can think of are Enhancement Diversification (ED) and Invention Origin Enhancements (IO and their set bonuses), plus the in-game economy necessary to support the loot for IOs.

Also getting merits of various types is probably better than chasing any influence, once you get your seed capital going.

    And welcome back.

Edit: Oh yeah...with the advent of global friends and channels most of the action isn't at the zone or SG/coalition level anymore. Global chat channels tend to be where everyone hangs out. JFA2010 and Justice United are the big'uns.

Widows are definately an AT that can be extremely helpful for this trial.
No apology necessary. Dark is pretty awesome for the CoP since the heal is also a to hit and regen debuff (minor) but is a big heal number for the multitude of pets and allies, and shadowfall adds the psi resist to everyone around the player as well.

Tar patch is pretty decent for keeping the mobs from scattering and debuffing them as well.

    Just saying hi!

    Welcome to Justice!

The whole silence thing on channel join is just to keep spammers out, send a tell to a mod in the channel and they will unsilence you.

As for the team vs. solo thing, by all means find a team! Although there are 'get off my lawn' type elements within the game (glares at someone who's name starts with a letter between P and R) most people on Justice are very friendly...sometimes too friendly (make sure you lock your doors at night).

The primary benefit to teaming is to make friends who will give you their stuff when they ragequit, although the secondary benefit, useless and prurient gossip, cannot be ignored. If you don't like either of those things, then soloing might be best for you just for the challenge of trying to simultaneously click 2 items while alone.

And if you send a tell to enri, he will make you sign and fax over some weird 8 page nondisclosure or something before you can team with him, although I just sent him a picture of a 7 legged spider and he was OK with that.

Best way to find teams are through channels nowadays, although you can hang out in AP or other congregation zones to find other lost souls.

17 1/2 hours is an extremely long hand job.
  17. If you want to do this, I'll put up some prizes for the people who attend the raid.

I'm thinking that special prizes will go out to the person who lands the killing blow for:
    A) Hami
    B) U'Kon Gr'ai
    C) Aspect of Rularuu round 1
    D) Aspect of Rularuu round 2

Just need to pick a day and we can get Dan some badges, if not arms.

Should do a triple header on the weekend...Hami/ship raid/CoP.

Good scrappers and brutes/tanks quickly getting on the Rularuu boss spawns during the 2nd phase are the fastest way to guarantee the AV gets dropped fast.

Having immob and -kb type controllers are nice to keep errant mobs from keeping the AV protected longer than necessary as well. Stacked Mind Links can also help the various squishies from getting overwhelmed by random aggro too.

Sorry to hear that...things seem pretty tough everywhere. Hope to see you back once you get on your feet.

Better to threadjack than to let the thread die on the vine.
