Well. To indirectly answer, it wouldn't effect your run speed due to Rooted or Granite, but were you to land in some caltrops or be hit by ice, it WILL reduce the effect on your already-comically-slow movement.
So, it works how it would work on any toon, but you don't get any special benefit toward mitigating Granite's inherent limitations. However, you might see it as even more important on a Granite toon because it is already so slow... or the reverse is also true. -
Quote:Wow. You really sounded just like Kanye West! And I imagine I could respond to your post in the same manner as Obama.Doing my best Kanye West voice
Yo PunceNonagon; I'm really happy for you, I'm gonna let you finish, but most of us have been having the worst drop rates of all time...
Too soon?
So... other people can post that they have seen nerfed drop rates, and because I haven't I can't post, or my post is somehow suitable to be dismissed?
I believe there is probably something wrong, but I doubt it's as bad as everyone states. I play pretty often and have noticed nothing different. And I've been looking. I plan on farming a bit this weekend and I'll start recording my results. When I do, I'll let you know what I find. -
I have no hard data, but I still find nothing amiss with the drop rates. Before i16, it took me (usually) two runs set at 8-man to fill up with salvage and recipes. It still takes two runs. Sure, I have a run every now and then when I get nothing, I also get runs where I get 15 recipes.
If there is a difference, I can't see it.
If you guys tell me it's borked, I'll believe you, but I won't believe that it has changed that much because nothing has changed for me, even a little bit, since i16. -
Quote:Catch the wink? I was kidding. I've been to Texas many times, Houston, Dallas, Lubbock, Odessa/Midland, and others. I spent a two semesters as a consultant at Rice University. I liked it there very much. My favorite band is Texan to the core (The Reverend Horton Heat).Considering infallible, SuperGoober, possibly MissInformed and possibly others are getting ready to fly out from Texas to California next month, that may not have been the best choice of words to use.
I know that I won't be making an offer, after that line, to stop at a Potbelly's and bring some with me on the plane for ya.
I was totally kidding. I didn't realize you Texans were so thin-skinned.(<---wink)

I generally stay away from PVP because I just cannot deal with the asinine behavior of some the people in there. But, if some of Justicites want to group us for badges and kick my butt, I'd love to bring in Nakoa (or any other toons to even out teams).
@vanda1 -
I have the MoITF and the MoSTF, but I'd love to try a MoKhan.
-
I'm no PVPer, but I'd be happy to jump in with a bunch of Justicites and get my *** kicked. I see that we're full, but if it comes up again, I'd be happy throw Nakoa (or any other toon I have) into the mix.
-
For me, it would depend on the toon. On my main, Nakoa, I'll SSK down to any level and not trip. He's made for SSKing and he has two builds to choose from. However, I have a 50 Ice/Axe tanker, Agdenes Man, who doesn't SSK so easily. He's most fun to play when I can throw down Ice Storm and run Chilling Embrace and some AoE axe swings. At level 20, he just isn't that much fun to play. At 50, he's a blast. So, whether I would answer your tell to TF would totally depend on whom I was playing at the time.

Quote:Nothing special here... I used the Battle Maiden map and a did few runs on the Behemoth map just to shake it up when I got bored. I had one other toon -from a friend's account- with me getting PLed (which is definitely changed with i16).Out of curiosity, what map did you use for your farming runs? (If you'd rather not publicize, feel free to PM it to me.) I ask not because I wanna steal yer tech, but because I'm still trying to figure out whether there are replicably "good" maps that the devs might be able to use to set against maps like the one I've used that has been, at least for my characters on test and live, replicably bad.
I'm sure there could be a problem with the drops, but I had some kind of great day yesterday. Maybe, everyone experienced reduced drops because I was getting them.I love i16!
If there is real data, I'll believe it because I know my sample size is so small, but right now I'm not seeing it. -
Quote:Oh, I had dozens of recipes that I just turned over for sale right away. I also got about 15-20 pieces of rare salvage. The number of bad guys sounds about right, but I didn't count. It looks like you had some premium drops but I'm sure you had more than just the ones you listed. What were your drops like during your farming? Last Friday I farmed for 1.5 hours and fought close to 500 badguys. In 3-4 hours fighting 8 man spawns I would suspect you killed a 1000 to 2000 badguys?
I only mentioned the things that I thought were rare or spectacular. I could fill up on both salvage and recipes in two runs which is exactly where it was pre-i16, when I ran 8-man spawns. I don't see a difference, to be honest. It's just A LOT better without having to get fillers. -
I know my personal experiences over the last week or so are in no way conclusive, but yesterday was my first big playing day since i16 started. I've customized some powers and did a couple or respecs to pick up some new epic powers, but I've done only a little actually playing. Yesterday, I played most of the day.
What I did:
I farmed for about three-to-four hours, 8-man spawns.
I did a quick ITF.
I did three Ouroboros arcs.
I did three radio mishes and a Steel Canyon Bank mish.
I did a MoSTF.
What was dropped:
A Hecatomb dam/end
A Unbreakable Constraint hold/end
A respec recipe
4 Tempered Readiness recipes (I'm collecting them for a pair of ice blasters.)
It was, perhaps, one of the most productive days, in terms of drops, I have ever had. I can't tell you if drop rates are borked or not, but they don't seem to be so to me. On the MoSTF, I got the respec recipe, someone else got another good recipe, and there was little else. Sounds about right to me. -
I don't know if I buy the d00m of the OP, but I have noticed that when I play, rarely do I see Freedom or Virtue with the two yellow dots as far as showing how full they are. They used to be at two dots all the time. Now, they rarely are.

A way to shade different colors would be great, at least we wouldn't all look the same. I'd even like the option to turn off the fx entirely.

Quote:I'll go the extra mile for Potbelly's. There is one in O'hare Airport and whenever I have a friend flying home from Chicago, I have them grab me a bunch in return for my picking them up at the airport. Then I eat Potbelly's all day... until the next time someone I know goes to Chicago. It's so funny that you mention Potbelly's. I have lived in the midwest the majority of my life, and have never eaten at one. In fact, I was in downtown Cincinnati tonight with some friends, and had to ask them what it was. I thought it was the fondue restaurant.

Agreed. Across the board, scrappers are the best soloers, by and large.
That said, tanks can be nearly as good if you go offensive with IO sets and whatnot. My 50 fire/stone scranker dishes AoE better than anything that isn't spines/ and does TONS of damage to big mobs... as well as being pretty tough to bring down.
Personally, I prefer tanks, but scrappers solo with ease. -
I'll be there. I won't be able to make the dinner, but I'm a local boy and the travel time for me is about 15 minutes. Also, In-and-Out has long approached been-there-done-that status for me. Although, I'd kill for a Potbelly's Sandwich which you midwesterners are probably sick of by now.
See you all there. -
Great job! I can't even imagine having all those badges. I've had a toon since about a month after launch that I never really pursued badges with, but I did all content I could find. He has 502. I have a few Ouroboros mishes to do, so I could maybe end up with 530 or so after that. Still, that's a loooooong way from 600.
-
Two fire/kin trollers or a scrapper and a fire/kin would work. I sometimes dual box and put my fire/kin on follow. Get the imps and leadership rolling. Hit SB whenever you need it, set it and forget it.

I absolutely love Wormhole and use it all the time on my 50 grav/ff.
It's wonderful for teams, especially if they know it's coming. And soloing, it's great when the mobs are a bit big and you need to take most of them out the fight for bit while you concentrate on the bosses.
Wormhole is a lot of fun. The only gravity powers I would say that are better are the Singularity and Propel, and the latter only when soloing. -
TA/A is one of the rare sets in which stamina is optional. It totally depends on your playstyle and your build. For a soloer, the leadership toggles are very handy and they can hog the endurance a bit, so if you are going to run any toggles, you probably want to get it. If you usually team with someone that can buff your recovery, you can probably skip it and make do when you solo on blues.

I've been a Justicer since near-release and, while I don't say much, I do read the conversations and have teamed at least one time or another with just about everyone named in this thread. My favorite crew has got to be the regular Hami raiders, especially my fellow tanks HRO, Animal, Ice Knight, Abraxxus, etc., but also Mermoine and Philly-Girl. Again, I don't say much, but I do enjoy hanging with them. My famous faves are:
1d, Abraxxus, Arwen Darkblade, Chaoslord, Choake, ConFlict, Danman, Enrious, EvilGeko, Groo Hulk, Haissem, Heryddan, Hydro, Ice Knight, Kaiser Soze, Kid Evolve, La Pulga, Le Guiletine, Megumi Yamanto, Mermoine, Mezmerize de Justice, Nrgon, Philly, Pope, PSLAnimal and the Mrs., PumBumbler, Quatermain, Rose Glace, Smoke Signal, Texas Justice, Zappalina
I am Nakoa (@vanda1), and I approve this message. -
Get both eventually, but at 38, I'd probably take Rise of the Phoenix. You'll use it more and it's a damn fine self-rez.
Burn is an awesome offensive power with handy mitigation. -
For me, it all depends on the toon and how I will be playing with it. If I'm soloing often, I usually need more pools. Teamers can focus more on what they do well.
Stone Armor, once leveled to Granite rarely needs more than just a few powers in the primary. On the other hand, Super Reflexes needs about every power. -
Mine is also "broken" in the same way, #14121.
