  1. Do you mean that they are actual "twins" meaning they shared a simultaneous womb and were somehow separated at birth? No, they weren't. They are both Marcus Cole from different dimensions. One decided to become a hero and the other decided to rule the world as an Emperor.
  2. I was there. Tried your global as @solo one.

I'll be back on later tonight, probably around 9pm edt. Catch me then and we can swap.

I did manage to drag myself to breakfast, but I didn't know anyone, really. I'm working up to it.

  9. Yeah, you sure represent Justice well. Congratz on the double kickassedness.

Electric is a special case with Mag 15.6 kb protection but you need to be on the ground. My concern is how sensitive that is. I really should bring my Electric Tank this week and test it.

Taunt- Just having it isn't enough. Taunt should be slotted with Taunt Durations. I would say 3 slotted as a minimum. Personally I have mine 6 slotted with a set of Mocking Beratement. 97.5% recharge, 97.5% Taunt Duration, plus the bonuses are nice . The reason for this is other tanks can pull aggro off of you when everyone is fighting Hammi.

Hit Points - The more you have the better things will work out. Generally we have a kin or 2 on the Hammi Aggro team so keeping + hp + Heal powers up is fairly trivial. The big deal with + HP's is that you can do more with less regen. Having your regen debuffed as a raid tank is a fact of raiding. Many times when you initially enter the Goo you will go to 0% regen even with all the RA's from pre buff. More HP's gives you more breathing room.

Regeneration - The magic number is 160 hp per second to tank hammi without an EoE. Generally its unwise to do so unless you are clear of the other Mitos. In short always use an EoE Tanking Hammi unless you are at this regen number or higher and have no other mitos hitting you.

Emps and Kins- A Requirement specifically for their RA's AB's, SB's and Heals. More or less the unsung hero's of Hammi Raids. While the Tank handles the aggro of Hammi these folks keep you alive with buffs. 2 of each on the Hammi Aggro team work wonders.

Paying Attention - This should go unsaid however I feel the need to mention it. Watch your buffs, your regen, health and EoE's. Furthermore watch the other parts of the raid. At times there may be a mito right were you are standing and taunting. As the Raid Tank generally most people try not to get to close as Hammi tosses AOE's however being mobile is a good thing as a Raid Tank.

    Hope this helps

Hm. Ice, you have inspired me. I have a 50 stone tank that I rarely play anymore and I think I may respec him to ignore his offense (chuckle) and make him the ultimate Hami agro tank. Maybe I can make a second build for him.

For movement, sprint + swift + slots + SB is better than TP, correct?

That's probably as official as we're going to get for awhile.
I also tallked with Brian Clayton who gave me the same answer: There will likely be an Issue 17 before Going Rogue (which isn't due to come out until April-May-June). Some of the stuff (like Ultra Mode) may be ready to toss into Issue 17 and will be if it is.

Usually, they are held on weekday evenings at 9pm or 10pm EST. Occasionally, there will be one on a weekend. As far as I know, there are none currently scheduled outside of Ice Knight's Halloween Bash.

(I used "Bash" because I thought it had a better connotation with this being a super hero video game.)

As far as I can tell, and I've never tanked hami, you need a ton of EoEs and some buffers. Granite tanks usually hold the job, but I've seen others do a fine job.

Perhaps. I envision them skulking behind rocks away from the action and watching NCIS until someone says on broadcast "last wave" at which point they jump up and pretend to have been there all raid, like some cheating marathoner.

Who knows what they are thinking. It's so much more fun to play it out.

I've had this thought -and I'm sure I'm not the first one to have it:

Set the teams in the Hive, kill some monsters and wait for the hive to fill up. When it does, the leader sends a tell to all the individual team leaders who -through team channel- to keep it quiet on broadcast but move the whole thing to Hive 2. People who we know to be active participants who are locked out, we can just tell them to go to Hive 2. We'll have to rehunt some monsters, but we'd leave the leechers sitting alone with Hami in Hive 2. In addition, if someone stays there to keep it spawned, we could just move the whole operation back to Hive 1 and do it again real fast. Hopefully by then, the leechers will have tired and bailed.

We do this when we seem to have a lot of leechers. Eventually they will try and head us off at Hive 2, at which point we stay in Hive 1. Still, a PITA to go through just to have everyone get their just rewards.

    Just a thought.

    Fair enough.

Something has to be done about the leechers. A couple of raids ago, we had 34 people in the zone, no yellow damage team, and the hive was full. Eventually, we got it going, but it took forever. I can understand why people wouldn't want to lead often.

I'd be interested in learning how to run one. I'd probably have to learn how to do binds, something I have been resisting. I've run yellow agro before, and been on most teams, but that's it.

If I could learn how, I think I'd be willing to set up a regular day and time for Justice.
  18. Great job, Ice! This looks to be great event. I'll be there for the Hami and the Croatoa stuff, and if I had a villain high enough, I'd surely join you for the Villain Hami.
  19. Thanks, Fuzun. I had a great time there. It was really a pleasure to meet many of the people I play with regularly.
  20. Gratz, Philly. Now you get to level up.

They aren't really regularly scheduled, although Justice could certainly gather enough folks on a regular basis. (In fact, we had an impromptu raid last week and it actually went pretty well.) Trouble is, there just aren't enough people who know how to run them. Hell, I know I don't. (Perhaps, I should learn.) Ice Knight has been great about running them lately.

They are very popular events and usually you have to get there early before the hive fills up. Often they start at 9-10pm EST, so if you are on chat around that time, you will hear people calling out to gather in the hive.

    HeroCon: Arrived

I'll be there by 4:00 -or soon after- to register and check out what's there.

    Uber veterans

I started with 8 toons, all of which are 50 now:

Nakoa (my main, my badger): Fire/Stone Tank
Granite (my first toon): Stone/SS Tank
    Vandal: AR/Dev Blaster
    Siphon: Dark/Dark/Dark Defender
    Gendarme: Grav/FF Controller
    Eidolon: MA/DA Scrapper
    Domino: Nrg/Nrg Blaster
Puce Nonagon (the toon I was working on when I decided to sign up on the boards): DM/SR Scrapper

I still play them all to a degree, but I play Nakoa the most, by far. He was my first 50 and then one I enjoy playing the most. It's not like I have any favorite AT or powerset, I just choose the toon I need for the particular needs of the team. If it's PI AV team that needs debuffs, I'll bring my Rad/Elec defender, ToxicShock. If I'm on a ITF that needs damage, I'll bring Domino. If I'm on an STF that needs a Granite Tank, I bring Granite. If I'm on a team that has one main tank and a bunch of squishies, I love to bring my Ice/Axe Tanker, Agdenes Man, (or Nakoa in his high-AoE/low-defenses build) who is an AoE machine. I farm on my Fire/Kin. Different toons for different needs.

I go through phases where I really want to play a toon more than some others. Right now, it's Domino, who I slotted with some sweet IO sets and now he plays like the least squishy Blaster I've ever played. He's great fun on ITFs. Also, sometimes it's not about powersets. A while ago, I rolled a new Fire/Kin named Doctor Snakeskin whose bio and costume are among the best I've ever done. I'm having a blast with him.
  24. Well explained.

Perma-hasten is perma-handy. Perma-rage is relative easy to get and it's also very advantageous.
