    Query

I am quite taken with the idea of the fire/ice being turned into a PvPer... especially as I can team it up with an ice/fire blaster - might make quite a decent combo?

From playing them PvE I think the fire has the most chance of being fun

It is a shame I didn't post this before I did the last respec and got rid of chilling embrace tho (doh!)

With the secondary would you ignore things like frozen fists and ice patch (thinking the animation time on the patch takes way too long to put it down)

And is it worth slotting range in the primary attacks?

    Query

    OK...

So I have a few toons that are idling in the 20s/30s and I'm thinking of turning one of them into a PvP toon with a PvP build (even though I'm rubbish at PvP... surely I might get better). But I'm not sure which would be the best. The toons I have under consideration:

    AR/Devices Blaster
    Fire/Ice Blaster
    Claws/DA scrapper
    Rad/Sonic Defender

So... which would be best? Any ideas/suggestions and top tips for any of the builds?
  3. I have aid other on my stone tank (was a "hmm what power to take at 49" type thing) and is has been really useful. Have found that even when I'm standing in the middle of a fight I do get a chance to heal if it's really needed. Plus the Tricorder is just stupidly large in my granite hand

    [ QUOTE ]
Rock armour is defence rather than resistance. Very few stone tanks ever drop it even after granite.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I've actually been surprised at stone tankers that do drop this power after a 32 respec OR never take it in the first place....
  4. Hey, big gratz to Titan X for hitting 50!

I know it was a couple of nights ago, and I wasn't there... but I came to say gratz and there was no thread!!

So... well done and well deserved. It was fun teaming with you until you left Eat Static in your dust!

    Hope you enjoy the warshade!

    SG Costume

The way the SG colours selection work is that you actually need to go back to the SG colours edit screen for each costume.

You should be able to go to that SG colours screen and change all the colours to the ones you picked and hide your SG chest logo if you want though.
  6. Gratz Slasher!

Are you finally going to lvl up your pirate now?
  7. grats Jackie

I'm expecting the 5th one from you and bogs soon!
  8. well done boggy, doesnt seem that long ago that you got your last one!
  9. Congratz RA, it's seemed a long time coming but you got there

Good luck with whichever toon you decide to play with next

yeah, Maximillion is right, however the main point for replying... is to go slightly OT and say love your avatar Steampunk

    Angelstar: Forcefield/Archery/Psi Mastery Defender

MissPhit: Dark Miasma/Dark Blast/Dark Mastery Defender
  12. ah, yeah I could move them into thunderclap - only put them in O2 boost as wasn't 100% sure where to put a couple of the slots

I was slotting the cloud with three recharges as I was hoping that maybe 2 clouds would appear :P I was teamed with 2 rad controllers yesterday with double AM and it seemed I was able to put 2 clouds up (I thought you could only have 1 pet at once - or does cloud not count?)

Am guessing that 3 recharges + hasten might have clouds overlapping-ish?

    About Fortitude

I think 3 recharge and 3 def buffs is generally considered the best slotting. Don't think many peeps put ToHit buffs on it
  14. Hi, well I'm planning a respec for my storm defender. I've waited till lvl 39 as I wanted to at least try Thunderous Blast before I respeced to see a) how annoying the toggle drop would be (very) and b) how much damage it actually does (hardly any!)

Since I hope this will be the final respec before 50 I want to make sure I get it right so if any stormies out there can look over the build and tell me if I have anything wrong would be most appreciated!

  15. I assumed as much, but hey figured that since the description says no kinetic powers it would be worth clarifying...
  16. [ QUOTE ]
NO KINETICS POWERS except speed boost. While I know that it is tempting to slap a fulcrum shift down for the extra damge on everyone, Kinetics is by far the laggiest powerset in the game (to the point where it might even cause people to crash).

    [/ QUOTE ]
quick query regarding this... Obviously I realise that the kinetics powers cause lag problems so I wouldnt want to use them all but what about:

Increase Density to free someone from a hold/stun
    and
inertial reduction for any kinetics players that don't have any other travel power?

Just thought I would double check....
  17. [ QUOTE ]
I can see SS being very risky in PVP but I have no personal experiance on this (anyone tried SS in pvp?).

    [/ QUOTE ]
it's not risky in PvP at all... in fact it's quite good. Was in the arena this week and was annoying a scrapper by running away all the time

Siphon Speed issues I get, yep that can indeed be a pain...

IR... nope, still not convinced. Leaping requires you to check around and press the jump key in order to do your jumping. You can't leave your toon to get where they need to get to on their own. It requires almost the same careful consideration of where you are going as IR.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Brick. Space bar. Nuff said.

    [/ QUOTE ]

but... but... I don't have a brick on my desk and jump isn't on space...

  20. [ QUOTE ]
(sure, if you make a kin to stand in atlas park and buff people for attention, IR is the power for you)

    [/ QUOTE ]
actually... you don't have to ever have stood in Atlas Park and buff people with IR to like it... I know I never have.

I totally accept that IR isn't for everyone but I really don't get how the having to click it makes it more of a hassle than most of the other travel powers out there. I mean, heck, while travelling you could just pop it on auto if you really don't like having to activate the power

If peeps were complaining about dropping down on to a freak tank or summit then maybe I might understand (although after using IR on 2 kinetics based toons I've never accidentally dropped out the sky on a single mob) but complaining about having to click just seems a bit odd to me...
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Siphon Speed is fine for the lower levels, but try it against purples and you will die very easily and get very annoyed.

    [/ QUOTE ]
In general though... if you are a defender you will have picked up a travel power or Inertial Reduction long before this starts to get annoying.

On a controller, yes, slightly more annoying as you have to wait until lvl 28 to get your jump juice - but you can always take a travel power and respec it out at 28 (if you want to go for non pool power travel)

Personally I think it's great to not have to get a travel power from the pools...

    It affects the caster too
