So totally the truth Pretty much sums up why I love storm. Getting invited to defend a team full of blasters is just too much fun.

So yes, my favourite Defender is Storm. I used to have this crazy idea that I wanted a lvl 50 of each defender, and I was doing quite well... but after playing Storm and then trying to level some others I realised nothing came even close in terms of fun and toys

We didn't actually get anywhere... had a nice chat stood at Atlas Park station tho... Gonk and I didnt get online until past 7.30 so I think that helped add to a week of failure :/

I respecced my rad at lvl 17ish specifically for a TF (back when AV regen was ridiculous) so I think that's probably what's thrown it off kilter a little. Normally I wouldn't slot the primary so heavily before the secondary and I'm planning to respec to some normality soonish.

Problems in the current build are, radiant aura with 6 slots, AM with 6 slots, choking cloud with 3 (oh why did I do that... I don't even like the power!)

Once I shuffle some slots off them I should be back to being soloable I think...

Would agree with that, although mine is a rad/sonic. I think one of the problems is that I don't feel I have enough slots to put onto my attacks [at lvl 30] so I really struggle to do much damage. Soloing is slow and pretty boring... I'm hoping things will take a turn for the better once I have some slots on my attacks between now and 35 and then I can solo again.

I found mine a joy to solo by lvl 22 I could solo invincible missions without insps. Despite slotted debuffs I found I had the slots to go 1 acc 3 dam on my 3 single target attacks and with aim I was flying through missions

Storm is definately the most fun. You can get away with such ridiculous stuff later on. I'm not sure about elec though, I'm enjoying my 21 storm/dark a lot more than my 40 storm/elec.

Storm/Dark would have been my first choice but my empath was empath/dark and I didnt really want to do dark again (not when I had my TA/Dark waiting in the wings as well). TBH I just wanted to be a Croatoa Witch...

The hardest defender for soling was my kinetic/nrg... worked well in teams but only having two tiny attacks and a knockback attack didn't really lend itself to being an uber solo defender.

My Empath/Dark is/was surprisingly easy to solo, if not a little slow...

What lvl we going with for high lvl stuff?

It's useful for the +perc (so sometimes handy vs rikti, ghosts etc and in PvP(ish))

I also thought the defence was pretty low (and the endurance use seems quite high) so only use mine if I need to ghost a mission or want the +perc. Although... using eviscerate when you have cloak of darkness on looks quite cool. Spinning balls of fluff...

bumped into Orion Star last night in Atlas... asked him why he hadn't been there as our reserve these last few weeks...

He said he could come tonight and take the permenant 8th position. So fingers crossed...

I've only really played a DA scrapper... my regen is still languishing under lvl 20.

But... I don't think DA is hard to solo at all, the benefits that you list for a DA scrapper, AOE Damage, regen, disorientate work just as well solo as on a team... after all, it's not like those powers stop working when you play solo...

Well.. perhaps that is concept I don't know. When I picked stone mastery it was on a total whim, if I was following the concept of my character then power mastery would have been better. However, when I hit 41 I was just looking for something fun... and power mastery looked... well, dull(ish)

As for the range on fireball - that wouldn't be as useful for my toon just because I have to run in to fire off my PBaOE hold (it's Glacier, so it freezes foes around me) and fulcrum shift. So using those two powers and then firing off fissure works well for me. I admit it might not work so well for others, but for me it's nice and handy... and I know I *could* use fireball in exactly the same way... I guess I picked stone mastery and just liked it

Psionic tornado I am sure is nice too - but as it is only available at 47 it seems too long to wait for an extra AOE power :P

And the extra hitpoints from EE's come in handy just because of how I play this toon (i.e. standing in the middle of the mob drawing as much aggro as possible) Yes there are people that can tank better than me... but where's the fun in that?

I have fissure on one of my ice/kinetics controller.

On her I find the damage to be quite good (particularly contained damage - which when combined fulcrum shift I can get quite high) and the KD/Disorent power to be, er, barely visible. It does have quite a small cone/radius effect tho (which is why I took it as it works very nicely with: run in AOE Hold, fulcrum and then fissure)

I should say I didnt take stone mastery for concept at all - lets face it it doesn't fit in with Ice/Kinetics I took it because I liked the look of stomping my feet (fissure) and having a power that boosted my HPs (it gives me 700ish extra hps for before I run in and try to cause as much damage as possible).

And yes, I did take hurl boulder for fun but I had to respec it out as it was tooooooo slow

I'm never an Empath first, I'm a defender first. I use my attacks to defend the team, much the same way I use my heals and buffs to defend the team.

Well, it would only be overpowered if you gave it really uber powers. Anything suggested has the potential to be overpowered but if you attempt to try and balance out the issues then it wouldn't have to be imo.

ooooh, why don't you tell me these suggestions before you post? An illusion tank would be cool!

After staying on to trick or treat a little longer I got to 15.7 as well (no extra badges tho)

Also I've managed 2 full sets of salvage so I have a spare set for Leasam as I imagine you won't have any, what with the broadband probs.

This is pretty simular to my build... although... I haven't taken the medicine pool. I've not really been in a situation where I've needed that much healing (beyond what dark regen already does for me).

I did pick up the self rez at 38 as well - found it handy for those "oh noes the whole team just died but what's this?! The fearless little scrapper has just picked themselves up off the floor" moments

That's kind of a strange build... how did you get a heal enhancement into Shockwave??
