I know that I occasionally forget to toggle off my pain's heal aura when I go to the Black Market. Not always, but occasionally. The people that send tells to please detoggle it will get a polite response and a detoggling of the aura. Those that shout and call me names and wish harm upon me because I forgot to click a freaking button in a game can suck a sack of sick with a silly straw.

It can be laggy at times, even at 100 particle count. Yes, I often play at 100 particle count and it can be frustrating. That said, if we're fighting anything that it gives me that nice +Res to I just deal with the drop in FPS.
And yes, turn off your annoying toggles (AND AUTOS) in WW and the Black Market, please. And if you're a Mastermind - do you REALLY need to have your pets right next to you blocking the person for everyone else? -
Wow. I know that I don't have the patience to stick to something like that. . . . kudos to you, good sir. Kudos.

I was looking at rolling up a new Sonic/Cold Corr (I have a Cold/Sonic Defender that's been my favorite character for a very long time now) and looking at Frostworks. Hero-side I didn't take Frostworks for very long on my Defender because my regular crew that I ran with was typically near the hp cap anyway and I think the most anyone got out of it was ~400HP. That's not trivial but I didn't team with that guy much anyway.
Now I'm looking at the numbers for +Regen on Brutes and how they're affected by a raised HP cap. I'm wondering if any of you with high regen gain all that much health regenerated per second when hit with Frostworks.
Anyone with firsthand experience that can give me a clue on how effective it is at boosting hitpoints per second as well as the +HP boost? -
Depends more on the build and player than the archetype IMO.
If we need/want a 'tankish-type' character, we will ask for that type of brute.
If we need damage we'll take just about anyone but a random MM. My list of 'do not group with' MMs is longer than all my other 1-starred archetypes combined. -
Jump in the deep end and join some teams. You'll learn how best to work with a team by being in them.

Quote:Damage-wise, a primary will do more damage than a secondary in most cases.I noticed that electrical blast can be either a primary or secondary power set, depending on what class you are. This is probably true for other power sets as well, so I'm curious, is electrical blast less powerful as a secondary set rather than a primary? Is there a difference at all?
However in the case of 'blasts' the Defender (and I think the Corruptor to a lesser degree, please correct me if I'm wrong) benefits from stronger secondary effects. A Defenders Sonic Blast attacks' -Res component is stronger as well, I believe it's a -20Res as opposed to Blasters' -13Res. The Corruptor fits in there slightly ahead of the Blaster in secondary effects and slightly ahead of the Defender in damage (I think, could be drastically wrong). I don't think that the -End component of Electrical Blasts is affected by this, though.
Someone with more knowledge is needed to confirm all this junk I posted. Or debunk it. -
Well, I could tell you 'yes' or 'no' but it wouldn't mean a heck of a lot since I don't have your exact build/playstyle.
Instead the best answer I could give you (and others might do better than this) is to get HeroStats and run it while doing the farm with bosses a few times, then run it again without bosses a few more times and see for yourself the difference. -
Quote:You might think about making an alt there rather than getting a character transfer. Especially if your character isn't all that high level yet - when you team up regularly you level much, much, MUCH faster. You are right, I am on Zukunft.
Should have mentioned that, sorry.
Think you might be right with the server. I see usually between 3 and 20 chars across all levels logged on there. I am going to purchase a server transfer and try Union.
Thank you very much for the suggestion. -
Quote:http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...silence+soundsOK I have to ask a silly question. How exactly do you change the sounds? Is it something simple you change under Options in the Menu? Or is it something more complicated that requires understanding how the program works? I know I would like to change a few things to avoid sound glitches but I'm not very computer savvy.
That's the link Red Valk posted up there. This is all you'll need to know, though you may need a sound editing program as well. -
Super Booster: Faces! Pictures of real people that paste to your character's face! New emotes such as: "Washing face", "Peekaboo", and "Pop zit". "Pop Zit 2" will not make it into this Super Booster as we are awaiting the release of Super Booster: Backs first.

Quote:You'd hate running Silver Mantis with us then, we ignore the glowies in that one mission :PI changed the level up sound to the old EverQuest "DING" sound which I like a lot more. I also changed the Glowie sound to Homer laughing. It makes it much easier to find the glowie and it's so annoying that I have to click it asap just to shut it up.
...or is that the Renault SF? I always get them mixed up.
I changed the Assault Rifle burst and slug sounds both to sounds of shots fired by a M240. The sniper rifle sound is the sound of a .50 cal with the cartridge pinging off the floor afterwards.
The Sonic blasts I changed to sounds that I don't find quite as annoying. Shriek is a sound effect from the old X-Men cartoon of Banshee yelling while carrying Wolverine. It amuses me. Scream is another sound bite from that episode. Shout is the sound of a jet passing overhead with a sonic boom in the middle.
The weird whalesong-like sound from Forcefields got the silent treatment from me, ditto with the ridiculously loud and overpowering Portal Corp portal sounds. I can't tell you how many times I got into sound loop crashes due to that sound effect before I changed it. -
I like to customize the game sounds somewhat to my personal tastes. Sometimes it works well, like changing the sonic blasts to different things... to less useful, like changing the sonic blast Howl to something else which then makes all the Werewolves sound like jet engines. Very annoying.
What do you change, and what do you change it to? -
It's a feature that is rarely used as intended.

For regular teaming, I don't set rules but if I team with someone else that wants to set rules, that's fine. If you're the team lead and want things to run a certain way that's fine with me - I know where the 'quit team' button is if I don't like it.
For TFs, especially 'speed' TFs, I expect there to be a few rules.
1) Follow the leader's directions. If he says, "Stay at the entrance, I will grab the blinkies" then you need to keep your butt at the entrance and not say, "I have stealth I'll grab a blinkie". Case in point, Operative Renault SF for the Barracuda ambush... it goes much smoother and faster when everyone is together.
2) A rule for the Leader : If you are going to set rules you must do so at the beginning before you form the strike/task force. In addition, if you are going to give directions you MUST DO SO IN CHAT. Don't expect the people that aren't in Vent to just magically know what you intend to do and what you expect them to do. Communication is vital.
3) **** happens. When it does, deal with it in a mature fashion. -
I love having the option of experiencing new content that will level me rather than going over the same arcs/paper missions ad nauseam. If some want to farm, good for them. Not really my thing all the time (I do like to finish a level before I log and I abhor paper missions with a passion, same with timed missions) but now and then I indulge.

99% of the time I plan a character out. When I first make them, if it's something I'm not familiar with, I plan to level 24 generally. Once I have a feel for the character I make a better plan for my run to 50, and then a second build with IOs post-50.

Patron for a stalker? Ghost Widow is pretty popular for 'Shadowmeld'. You can have it up roughly half of the time and it gives around 30% defense to everything when slotted.

Does it count as a mistell if you're on Ventrilo with your friends for a few hours doing task forces when you get a phone call from your girlfriend and you continue pressing the press-to-talk key while talking to her so your friends get to listen to half the conversation? If that counts, then I've had waaaaay too many.
Especially the time I was playing Pirates of the Burning Sea and had my headset volume up way too high so even when I wasn't wearing it she could hear the ships' cannons through the phone.
Her:"Are you playing that Pirate game again? While we're talking? This is important!"
We were talking about furniture, I forget what about exactly.
Me, unknowingly pressing the press-to-talk key out of habit: "What? Why would I be doing that? I'm just talking to you. Why would you think I'm playing the Pirates game?"
Friends on Vent, clearly audible: "HE'S [CENSORED]ING LYING! HE'S PLAYING THE PIRATES GAME! KICK HIS [CENSORED]!"
Her: "What was that?"
Me: "What was what?" (click the microphone and headset on mute) -

Handle: Global handle
Status: Current character name
If you click the little arrow thingy in the bottom right corner you get even more info like which server/shard they're on, what zone they're in, if they are in a team and how many are on that team. -
Quote:Ever done the Operative Renault SF with a few MMs? The last room is a pain in the butt with its terrible pathing in the first place -That'd be hilarious, with Scirocco flinging around henchmen all over the place with his Dust Devils
- Seriously. I've seen MMs take 5 steps forward and their pets decide that the fastest way to follow them is NOT to take 5 steps forward but to instead fly to the [censored]ing moon and back... aggroing everything in the room at the same time. Is it the MMs fault? Nope. You can have your pets on a very tight leash and then BAM -
but the waterspouts in the room will toss pets and players EVERYWHERE... it's funny, sad, and frustrating at the same time. -
Just want to add this:
You don't have to know everything about the game to start a team.
You don't have to be a 40+ month Vet to know anything about the game.
All you have to know is how to get along with others and how to have fun doing so.
All you have to be is open to suggestions and patient with others.
