5 Star: I have to have known you for a long time in-game or else know you IRL.
4 Star: Someone I enjoy playing with and consider a friend.
3 Star: Someone that I recently met but thought they were fun to play with.
2 Star: I don't use this.
1 Star: Jerk and/or moron. -
I'd like to see free transfers added as veteran rewards. Say, two every two years.
-
The farm I run hasn't changed in ticket drops. At +2/x8 running w/o bosses I generally need 6-9 groups to hit 750 tickets, w/ bosses it's like 3-5 groups, usually 5 groups.

First, you're better off making the thread in the Brute forum. Not because it doesn't belong here, but you might get better advice there.
That said, it comes down to personal preference. I personally enjoy War Mace more than Battle Axe due to the attack chain's flow. My friend prefers his Battle Axe. We both kick butt.... and occasionally we both use shovels. -
This isn't necessarily helpful, but I hated every second of Praetoria aside from the Bobcat mission chain. That was fun. The rest...? Let me put it like this: My friends and I rolled a team of Praetorians because we wanted to have a mixed team of defenders, brutes, etc. We got them to 19. At that point we decided, "F*** this," deleted the character, rerolled them as normal heroes and villains, and powerleveled them to 20 so we could do tips to bring all our characters to one side. It wasn't necessarily the difficulty (though I still think the Praetorian Clockwork were insanely hard in larger groups considering the level range) so much as it was incredibly un-fun for us. It wasn't boring, it just wasn't fun. Now, different strokes for different folks and all that... I know some people love Praetoria and I'm very happy that they got the chance to experience it.
What I'm getting at is that it's sort of wrong to force new players into this, I think Praetoria works much better for those that have experienced either CoV or CoH first.
In a way it reminds me of the completely-optional old Positron Task Force. The very first TF in the game used to take forever and was a pain in the butt. I remember at least one friend cursing me out for asking him to join - not the TF, but the game itself - because if that was how the rest of the TFs were then he wanted to no part of the game.
tl;dr version: The first character on a new account with Going Rogue (or a trial) should not be forced into Praetoria. Give them the choice! After all, if a person on a free trial decides they like the game and decide to start paying for it they may receive a rude awakening when they see that they can't play their Praetorians unless they purchase Going Rogue as well.
Edited to add: New players should take all this crap as just my opinion, of course. If I didn't enjoy the game I wouldn't be paying for it. It's a fantastic game with an even better community. -
Quote:I would only say 'yes' if you first petitioned the devs for new artwork so that you buttheads could have buttheads and make a Ferengi-themed SG.The Crazy 89s is a hypothetical Marketer SuperGroup, on Virtue, which has as its sole goal obtaining the #1 spot in the Virtue SG list, by burning inf.
This way, we can increase the burn rate, and help quell any complaints that the 88s only made #1 because the biggest SGs are really coalitions of multiple SGs.
That would kick forehead-***. -
Quote:I noticed last week that I had zero troubles with him solo on my Cold/Sonic, but he did die fairly quickly. He only bifurcated twice, and I only killed the first one. Benumb definitely helped on him, but I don't know that it would have been effective past the second bifurcation. To echo this: benumb (solo) didn't make a dent on him with the bifurcations up. With a team and decent damage he's still pretty easy, but solo -regen powers don't have much effect on him until the last of his furcations goes down. [Tested on Illusion/Cold controller solo]

With the importance placed on buffs and debuffs in this game I don't think a DPS meter would be particularly effective in measuring personal DPS. There are just far more factors involved in team play than simple 'DPS', or even 'HPS'.
Now, a group meter that shows DPS, HPS, and the effectiveness of other buffs and shows the contribution of each member towards these numbers... that could be effective. And before you say anything, I think it could be done using the chat log for hit rolls. . . . but the whole debuff/buff thing would still go unnoticed for the most part and lead to a lot of drama. I think it could be done, but I don't know that it would be good for the game. -
Sonic, probably. I don't see too many Trappers either but I do see them occasionally. I haven't seen a Sonic Resonance defender other than myself in over a year.
-
The more I think about it, the more I think I'd like a 'Detonator' power that causes all of your Traps (Triage, Acid Mortar, Poison Trap, FFG) to explode, dealing damage to enemies around them.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind paying to get a couple characters to 50... well, maybe not to 50, but maybe to 30. /shrug
To each their own. As for taking pride in characters and such... I take zero pride in events that happen in an online game. Yes, there's a level of skill involved, but it isn't much of a real-world skill in the end. Again, to each their own.
That sounds a little harsher than I intended it to, it's not an insult. I'm all 'meh' about the whole thing. -
Either way you're going to have to download. It'll take a while, yeah... but man, it is SO worth it. I didn't even mention tip missions and the ability to take your heroes to the Rogue Isles and even make them Villains.

Short answer: Yes.
Why? Well, there is a lot more to do in the game now, from amazing story arcs in Architect Entertainment to new Task Forces. Heck, an old TF or two even made it back in the game in the form of flashbacks.
There are also new, entertaining power sets to play with.
Is it worth purchasing Going Rogue? YES. YES IT IS. -
If you have your **** colored super bright, chances are you won't be invited back next time around - that stuff hurts my eyes. That said, I prefer shields to be as colorless as possible. Same with pretty much all powers, come to think of it. It's just a personal preference.

If we couldn't get auto turret I'd settle for a smoke bomb with some -tohit, confuse, and so on.
Edit: Actually, I'd like a sonic turret. One that uses a few attacks to lower enemies' damage resistance.
Or else something that gives +Special to the team. Yeah, that'd be seriously overpowered... but I still wants what I wants. -
For me it usually goes in this order:
1) Power combinations
2) Name
3) Costume
4) Backstory -
Costume contest!
First Place: 1700 IOs!
Second Place: Spit.
Third Place: Gets the spit when Second Place is done with it. -
I've honestly never really worried about holds on them... but then, I typically play a Cold/Sonic defender on the LGTF
Oh, Benumb, I love you so . . . -
No response yet to my tickets, I lost around 500-600m in enhancements
Some just disappeared off the market, some were in e-mails... ugh.
-
Big congratulations to both of you!
I wish I had been there for it, but had to leave after the in-base picture :/ -
Short Answer: Yes.
Longer Answer: Mmhmm.
Even Longer Answer: Yep. I've even gone out with a couple girls I met through CoH and one through CoHFaces. I have to admit the latter was kind of odd (the date, not the girl) because she wanted to meet for the first date at a coffee shop... well, that was not weird in and of itself, but when I got there she asked me where my laptop was. I told her I didn't have one, and she asked me (exasperatedly) how was I going to play CoH with her if I didn't bring my laptop? If she reads this she won't be mad, though. We parted on good terms. -
I just wanted to say that I got the "jar of almonds" bit and I am sad that "Whose Line" is no longer on nightly.

The main reason I don't have capes on any of my newer characters is because I *despise* the new cape mission. I find it completely and utterly lacking in entertainment value. I could go on, but that pretty much sums it up.
What's really ridiculous is that that is the exact same reason I don't have aura on most of my newer characters. No, I don't hate the aura mission. I hate the cape mission... which for some reason is still a prerequisite for doing the aura mission. Blah.
