Well, I made the Traps/DP but decided against deleting the Traps/Dark for now... my WP tank bit the big one instead. So far the Traps/DP is level 30 or 31 and it is pretty fun. I can't wait for my t9 in Dual Pistols.

Last night a friend told me they put the perfect zinger proc in their tier 1 attack and just spam it and it procs on other mobs that are hit by the gauntlet effect.
I thought about testing it myself, but don't want to waste the IO. I tried to search for the answer but all I found was someone saying "I'm not talking about the gauntlet effect either" or something along those lines.
Long story short, I think he was BSing me. Anyone know for certain if the proc works like that or not? -
I rarely get gf aggro anymore since she has started playing a game of her own, but we still have our 'us time' where we'll watch a movie or something. No cellphones or any distractions allowed!
I think the last bit of gf aggro I got was when she wanted me to drive her out for ice cream (when it was 17 degrees out!) and I told her I'd just gotten on a team, didn't want to leave them short-handed. Well, someone else in the SG wanted in so I offered to give them the spot after the mission and go get the ice cream... I didn't tell her this, apparently she read over my shoulder. Then another member said they had to go right away, so the other member got their slot and I made a comment about not having to leave now, she could just eat what was in the fridge.
She pinched me, HARD. I have a freaking bruise. -
I order my inspirations by column too. First is always healing, last is always endurance. Usually that's all my bar is, first few healing, rest endurance.
I always close the 'combine enhancement' window then reopen it rather than waiting for the animation to finish.
I always bind my most-used powers to page up and page down, any clicky buffs go on f9-f12, starting at f12. -
The badge system rewards for different activities. This is one of them. It seems odd to me to be rewarded for failure or inconveniences (debt, being mezzed).
Also, I think his point was not so much that people want to be given badges as much as he wanted to belittle people with different opinions.
I do see where you are coming from, M-B, I just don't agree with it. -
The design of Day Jobs does not appear to be something that the developers expect players to desire immediate gratification with. It's just a little bonus.
I can understand frustration if you want a specific title, but I just do not see the 21-day duration to be that big of an issue. -
While I'd agree that a name purge for accounts that have been inactive for 1+ years would not be a bad thing (for characters under level 40, perhaps), I don't agree that good names are hard to come by as it is. Of course, what makes a good name is purely subjective.
Or is it objective?
This is making me dejective. ed. Dejected.

I have a Bots/Traps MM, don't really play it because in every game I've ever played I have hated managing pets. Heck, on my Controllers & Doms I barely ever summon the t9 pets because even though I don't have to manage them they tend to run off and aggro completely different mobs.

I have played a few Traps/ defenders and a couple /Traps Corrs. Then I switched servers from Freedom to Virtue, and rolled up a Traps/Dark Blast defender with the thought, "Hey, I could heal myself with that ranged attack!" and totally forgot the lethargic damage output.
To put it bluntly: I love the Traps/ half of the character. Love it to little, tiny pieces. I am very unhappy with the /Dark Blast half of the equation.
I know that Defenders have offensive attacks as a secondary for a reason, I don't expect blaster-level damage output from them. But I would like to be better able to solo mobs without spending a longish amount of time setting up trip mines or a couple mortars before every pull.
I've played a Traps/Archery defender and an Archery/Traps corruptor - loved'm both, but want something new. I would prefer not to have redraw, as well, but I can live with it. I want a set that has decent mitigation, some form of control (hold or stun), and decent damage.
I've come up with builds for /DP, /Ice, /Sonic, /Rad... just not sure what I'm looking for, exactly. I'm leaning towards DP just because I never played a heck of a lot on my Cold/DP and I like the attacks and variety of secondary effects.... I've thought about AR too but I have an AR/Dev blaster from the beta and... well, she's still level 40 or so.
I'll have to delete my level 41 Traps/Dark to make something new, so here's my question for you guys: What secondaries do you use with your Traps defenders, and why? Maybe I'll get some good ideas from your personal experiences. -
Good luck to you in all that you do, you'll be missed.

"Knockback is not mitigation!"
one of my personal favorites:
"Defenders can't do damage!" -
Quote:I was running back and forth between missions during that ****storm, it was actually pretty funny. Especially when I started facetiously mocking a tank for having ranged attacks and making outrageous, obviously-fake claims... and people seemed to believe me.Oh, you mean the one in Atlas Park who was holding a costume contest, that you were participating in until right when they said they were going to announce the finalists and then you went off, in broadcast, to the effect of "Screw this, I am not going to be in a contest held by some idiot healer who is too stupid to take more than one attack". And then continuing on in broadcast on your little rant insulting them and once again trying to tell everyone how best to play "The Game According to Mondo"?
Then when people told you to stop acting like a "******", you got on your defensive martyr troll high horse by repeating, "Who is the ******, the person who expresses their opinion or the ****** who insults them for it?"... conveniently ignoring the fact that you were indeed insulting their opinion and play choices first?
Or was this yet another time?
Gee, can't imagine why you were called a troll... -
I joined a pug on my KM/Elec scrapper. I ended up taking the alpha from most of the spawns because the tanker decided to wait, every spawn, for his Shield Charge to come back before engaging.
The tanker got very angry that I wasn't following him and decided abruptly to go in a different direction than I did.
Unfortunately, the rest of the team had gotten in the habit of following the person that didn't stand still for 30 seconds after every mob and he ran off and died alone and misused.
Tanker: What ever happened to following the tank?!
Me: Figured you were going AFK or checking your twitter or something, so kept the xp rolling.
Tanker: I died.
Me: Maybe you should have followed the scrapper~
Tanker quit.
On a related note, the only reason I didn't faceplant immediately was the excellent job done by the defender & controllers on the team. -

I think the day jobs are perfectly fine as they are, the problems with them lie entirely within perception of people that think they have to have badges and not earn badges.
-
"Using Fire Imps lowers your xp over time"
"You can't 'control' AVs" -
-
"Defenders without heals are useless." - I think it should instead say that defenders with just heals are less useful.
"It's not cheating!" - Usually the only people that use this phrase are exploiters. Farming is not cheating... but exploiting is, regardless if you are using an exploit to farm or just to quick travel from one place to another. -

Just curious, it seems like more and more people have been choosing the "railroad spikes in your eyes" type of colors for their powersets like Electric Control.

I've been kicked from teams for not having the badge in City Hall next to the SG registrar.
