I'd like to see it. I can see it being run out of an Ouroboros-like place with teleporters to the major zones on both sides and NPCs to explain the trials and incarnate system.
-
I'd go with an 'Arbiter' name, but I think that's too Wackynos.
However, he kinda looks a little bit, thematically anyway, like my character Grimtek who I rerolled as Dreadtek. If you want to use Grimtek then feel free (or if you're not on Virtue then Dreadtek is likely available elsewhere). Also Ebonstryke is likely available on non-Virtue servers.
Edit: Since this is on the Champion forum (I saw this through a feed for Player Help/Questions) I'm guessing you aren't on the Virtue server with this toon. Heh. -
Nope, that's a picture from one of the trials. Instead of pulling the AVs to the tennis court you now interrupt a baseball game by pulling each of the AVs to one of the bases while someone stands on home plate.

Blue caves, blue caves, blue caves. I have a bit of color blindness and those caves are nightmares to move around in.
-
Freedom, huh? I can lend you a hand getting up in levels there. There really is nothing comparable defender-ish to a Fire/Traps corr.
-
I'm left-handed with the mouse so I map things a little bit differently.
Forward - Up Cursor
Back - Down Cursor
Turn Left/Right - Left/Right Cursors
Target Next Enemy - End
Jump - Home
Look Up/Down - Insert/Delete
Page Up & Page Down are typically bound to powers I use most often. -
As seen here - http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Archvillain_Resistance - level 54 AVs will resist 87% of a -Regen Debuff.
So in the case of a -500% -Regen Debuff (is that a double negative? You know what I mean) that means that they will be debuffed by roughly 65% -Regen, for 35% of their total usual regen.
A level 54 AV has 30,677 HP (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Archvillain), of which they regenerate 5% (1,534 HP rounded up) every 15 seconds(102 HP/second, rounded down) (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Health_Regeneration). That means when they are debuffed with that 500% Regen Debuff, after it is resisted, they will be regenerating roughly 537 HP every 15 seconds or roughly 36 HP/second. This makes defeating them much, much easier.
In the case of the 1000% -Regen Debuffs you are looking at 130% regeneration debuff after the resistance which totally floors the regeneration. This is just one reason why Traps is a fun set. -
I had a weird dream the other night that I tuned into a UStream chat and it was just 30 minutes of a model dressed up as Ghost Widow wiggling her fingers at the camera and saying, "Oogedy boogedy boo!"

Give me Liberty or give me depth perception!
...seriously, driving with an eye patch sucks. -
Thank you everyone. Looks like I'm making a trip out to WalMart in the near future, assuming it's still there after these tornadoes.
-
The one I bought originally required you to fill in a little form on the thing you buy, then send it to them. They send you a working card in the mail in a few days. At least, that's how it's supposed to work.
If I can get confirmation that the WalMart Money Card works for purchases in the in-game store then I'll go get that since I don't have to mail anything for it, just have to fill stuff out online or over the phone or something. -
That is strange because I filled it out correctly.
-
For those that have used them, what type of cards have you used and what did you purchase from the in-game store?
I tried getting a green dot visa credit pre-paid, but Visa sent me a nice letter saying why I couldn't have one (actually, they didn't say 'why', they just said 'no') when I mailed the thingamajigger to them. They also sent me a refund of my money.
So, that venue is closed.
Now I'm looking at the Wal-Mart Money Card that is a prepaid debit card but I am not sure if it will work for the purchases I wish to make (a super booster & a character transfer) with it. I did a search and came up with someone saying that someone else meant a card like the Wal-Mart Money Card when they mentioned a charge for using a debit card.
Essentially I just want to know what I can get that will work here from people that have already used this sort of thing. -
I get between 3-4 shards per "shard ITF". I get between 10-28 threads per BAF trial, including Astrals. For me it's a no-brainer.
-
Probably my Cold/Sonic defender, Buttercupocalypse. I've also gotten compliments on my Dark/Elec defender named Dimmer Switch but he's long gone now to make way for character EradiKate (Fire/Rad troller). People also seem to like Urban Malicious, my Elec/Fire scrapper. I don't know that many people get the name, though.
-
3 days ago I hit 50 on my DM/Shield scrapper.
Today around noon I had my Alpha level shift, my Judgement uncommon, my Interface uncommon, my Lore incarnate shift, and my Destiny incarnate shift.
I did it all with threads & the new merits (Astral & Empyrean), and one Rare reward for a successful BAF. I like the new options for character progression. -

The effectiveness of the buff is not tripled. The effectiveness of the buffer's time is increased.
If the effectiveness were to be tripled, you'd be seeing force fielder's giving 60% bubbles. -
It was in a different game, one with much steeper penalties for dying. A friend and I are trying to PL two of our other friends. They are both much smaller than us and so they have to stay physically behind us or get one-shotted.
One of them has to go afk, but we can't stop moving... he comes back and for some reason decides to run in a different direction.
"Dude, come back this way!"
"I'm fine, I got this, I got thi-"

Honestly, I wouldn't mind an aoe-option for buffs for classes whose primary attribute is support. Granted, that just means for defenders, but still. ....yeah, I'm kidding.
The only thing I think could be fair for this would be to add an area-effect component to targeted buffs. Even then you'd just be asking for trouble with a whole new plethora of issues introduced to the equation. -
My first scrapper that I leveled to 50 was a Katana/SR. While it was a solid combo I found that I didn't ever really look forward to playing the character, it just didn't fit my playstyle too well.
Years later (literally, like 5 years later) I started giving scrappers another go. Dark/Fire? It was fun, but there were other characters I enjoyed more...Sablesear was remade into a brute and I still have her though I think I moved her from Freedom to Virtue to Pinnacle just because I rarely ever played the character and I had those free character transfers back when they were giving them. Kin/Elec? It was an interesting combo and I enjoyed it but lost interest in the mid-30s. Elec/Fire? It's 50 but I didn't like the character enough to blow a billion inf on a build so it's just sitting there. It would be great if I did set it out, I just moved on to my latest scrapper project which just hit 50 yesterday... DM/Shield. Holy macaroni.... this one is F-U-N. When I hit 47 I started emailing myself my IOs, got most of what I needed, then when I hit 50 yesterday (soloed from 48-50 doing radios in PI) I finished most of the rest aside from about 3 IOs. I then unlocked the Alpha slot, then ran 5 or 6 BAF trials to get my Judgement & Lore unlocked, got the second tier in both, then did a couple Lambdas. Interface is unlocked, but unslotted (6 threads away).
To give an example of what it was capable of, the team I was on decided to only go for the acids in the third phase. I volunteered to take on the munitions depot solo, maybe take out a crate or two. I loaded up on purples and popped one or two when I got to each crate. I soloed 4 crates by the time the team finished getting the acids, then we had enough time to finish getting the grenades. It's highly survivable and deals some serious pain. -
My advice still stands. Yes, players that play controllers will likely have scrapper and be able to give advice but I feel you're more likely get a better viewing (and likelihood of pertinent replies) on the controller forum for controller builds.
Edit: I won't post here again because that was the extent of my advice - I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything like it and don't want to divert the thread from its intended purpose with inanities. -
May want to post this in the controller forum :P

Quote:That's kind of an unfair assumption, really. I know several people that just have a lot of difficulty relaxing around people they do not know or aren't familiar with. For those that play CoH more to relax than other reasons I am sure that it would be frustrating to have to go outside your comfort zone in order to advance your characters in a timely fashion....
If your friend cant tolerate other humans for a few hours a week then CoX incarnates are not his biggest problem right now anyway.
That said: It's up to him. I have had a lot of fun in the Lambda & BAF trials. I know they're not for everyone, but y'know, you can't please everyone all of the time. Chances are that there will be more group-friendly content in the future dealing with incarnates, maybe he'll want to return then. -
One thing I've found to help is to ask people to go to a 'low graphics' costume if they have one. This includes costumes where their powers are not as bright, costumes without auras/wings/capes, etc.
This does not make a huge difference on an 8-man (except in the case of 'pure white' power choices for powers such as empathy's heals or electric control's... everything) but can make a world of difference for larger leagues.
