Can I pay you 5 million just to delete the power and use it on no one?
-
Quote:A question, as a counter point (Not picking on you or anything. It's not like it can't be done, there are plenty of international sweepstakes and competitions out there in the world, and I suspect it comes down to a matter of cost rather than effort.
.
Would you like them to get all the legal things fixed for international contest entry if it delayed GR by 4 months? Or prevented $FEATURE_YOU_REALLY_WANT_IN_GR from launching with the rest of GR?
Money to pay a dev to work on these things, or pay a lawyer to iron all these legal wrinkles? -
Quote:Would Paragon have to deal with one legal entity (EU), or deal with the rules of every EU member nation?I see I'm not the only person to notice;
"Open to legal residents of the United States and Canada"
Come on, guys, does the EU REALLY count for so little? I'm quite a creative person, I would have quite liked to have put one of my arcs up for contest.
Just...bah. Its so irritating.
If they got the rights for a contest with US citizens (not RI), Swedish, and Czech citizens, would that make matters better (At least they're trying) or worse (Hey, my EU nation isn't mentioned, no fair)
Maybe contacting corporate will provide answers? They're most likely the ones putting that language in there, not anyone who reads these boards ... http://www.ncsoft.net/global/support/contact.aspx -
Quote:This was one of the first results when I googled Contest Rules Law:Was just about to post this myself. Apparently our money is good enough for them, but not our entries. I know there are some legal reasons for this, but surely something could be done?? There's gotta be some way around this? Honestly, what is it that actually makes it impossible for people outside the USA and Canada to enter??
Finally, something that might have made me want to go in game a bit more and I there's no point

I think the fear is that each country would have a different specific requirement, like the Canadian one mentioned. Paragon is an American company, so path of least resistance would be that they target Americans. -
Quote:Nope, don't care. Then again, I solo an emp, so I'd never use these options anyways.None of you are mad that they decided to take away the ability to fight +2/+3s in SFs and in Ouro?
Plus the nerf is causing you to nerdrage, and I so do love to watch people get angry over nothing on the boards.
Please, continue to type words for my amusement. -
I totally forgot about this game. But yeah, it was a crazy fun game on the NES.
-
Buy her an Atari and get the certain game involving General Custard and a Native American woman. There's your dark gameplay...

Quote:Wait wait wait, Conkers is childish?**sulks away putting his box of great titles like Mario64, Goldeneye and Conkers back in the box because they look too childish**
The game that had a giant mountain of poo as a boss, that sang an opera as you throw toilet paper at him to defeat him?
That Conkers? -
Also, and I am not making this up.
I beat E.T. on the 2600. Took me two years or so to figure it out, and on easy, but I did it. -
I just bought an XBox a month or so ago. Today's mega blockbuster games are mind-numbingly easy. I could've beaten Mass Effect with my eyes closed. Now granted, I'm playing my 3rd playthrough just to get all the achievements, and it's more grinding than challenging, but still.
Gears of War - mostly easy.
Mass Effect - mostly easy.
Left 4 Dead - mostly easy. -
When I beat the land speeder stage of battletoads (Solo, dear god never in two player) my friends watching and I cheered like we had just won the Super Bowl or something.
Then I died in Stage 4.
I've watched speed runs of Battletoads and seeing how little of the game I actually got through frightened me.
Castlevania 2 was the second NES game I ever owned, and I eventually figured everything out.
I can only speak from experience, but getting all 120 coins in Super Mario Galaxy is Nintendo Hard. I'm at 100 or so, but some of those purple coin challenges are crazy...
Edit: Just got Bionic Commando: Rearmed, and on the higher difficulties it's Nintendo Hard.
Mega Man 9, the Dr. Wily stages are Nintendo Hard. (The corridor with all the spikes, right after the zero-g sections with all the spikes, before the split-bubble boss, routinely cause me to curse and scream) -

Alright, logging in on my empath earned me the Empath badge, and I never had to do any afk healing farm of any type! WOOOOOOO!
Anyone else there like this, or am I the only person who played an emp long enough to get this without any farms?
edit: not posting this to say blah blah blah I'm a better person for not farming, far from that. Rather, just curious who else benefited from the badge requirement adjustment without having to use healing farms, is all. -
Quote:So, when our group ran over to the CoH booth later in the evening, we had a chance to say hi (and in my case thank) Posi, who was looking very tired but still very personable. You people in attendance must tell us all the ROGUE news! Must!
Then Hero-1 Joe Morrissey chatted with us. Future reference for everyone, if you ever get a chance to talk with Joe at future cons, do so. Joe was wired, asked us about our characters and sg, then nearly burst telling us some of the background of Praetoria that's coming out in i16.
I don't want to steal too much of their thunder, so I'll just say this. Joe said they started writing the history of Praetoria from 1896, which is when Marcus Cole was born. And then from there, decided, "If Tyrant existed, would A have happened in history? Yes, or no? Okay, so that changes this, now what would have happened.
All the way up to modern day. And a lot of that is where some of the new factions (he wouldn't say, and only gave hints) arose, as well as how some of the redeeming/corrupting missions will play out. Some things will be vary, "Do you want me to kill this despot running this area? Because he's a total jerk, but he's also the only thing keeping the civilians alive. Do you want freedom, or do you want to live?" type of decisions.
I'll have my laptop with me today, and I'll try to get as much info as I can from the panel, though I think it's gonna be more about what their experiences with AE has been, rather than i16 tidbits. -

I'll be there, but I won't be able to make the meet and greet.

They said as of Monday morning they're sold out on all days. I quote the PAX main page,
"For those of you that managed to register, excellent! For those that missed it, Im sorry! We have no more badges to sell to you! Yes, this includes day-of sales, so please please please do not come to the Convention Center if you do not have a badge! Either wait for PAX East or PAX 2010! Thanks!"
Also, Paragon Studios, notice that? PAX East? I'm flying cross country for PAX Prime. Maybe you could think about flying cross country for PAX East? Please?
Would you kindly fly out for PAX East? -
I'll be the guy there walking around with a Terrible Towel tied to his backpack.
-
-
I'll see what I can do...
-
PAX East Coast is 2010. Start pushing for that. As it is I'll be at PAX '09, so I can act as a DumpleBerry proxy for info, questions, etc...

Quote:Only if you agree to let me hump your leg.Well, I just crunched the numbers to get there from Chicago. Outside of selling one of my 3 remaining kidneys (and I'm pretty sure that's the bare minimum I need to operate my 2 spleens), there's no way I can get there.
Any chance you guys might start doing GenCon Indy again? Or, alternatively, host a "Let's Fly Ascendant to the West Coast"-type fundraiser?
Again. -

And some of us have never built a character with stamina. Easy on Emp/Rad, Mercs/Traps, MA/Regen scrapper, and Inv/Axe tank. Bit harder on a Night Widow and DB/DA scrapper.
