I saw this mentioned in the panel.....and they said it was active right now on the convention floor.....
So what are the new powers in those Ancilary pools?
Does anyone know? -
Quote:I hate to say this...i have played almost all stalker types and almost all brute types....there where only a few combos i didnt use becasue i had played them either on scrapper or tank or both.Screencaps of the new playstyle tab in the I21 character creator floating around at Massively describe the melee damage role like this:
"Your playstyle focuses on devastating attacks made from melee range, with Archetypes like the Scrapper, Stalker, and, to a lesser extent, Brute."
I've always wanted to level a stalker to 50 - traditionally I like stealth classes in MMOs - but have always found their damage a little anemic compared to their other melee brethren. To be fair I've only tried Spines, Ninja Blade, Dark Melee, Energy Melee, and Electric Melee to post SO levels (and deleted them around level 33-34). Which combos blow Brute damage out of the water, assuming both are using SOs of course?
So i have to say...so far i cant think of any stalker combos that actualy out damage a brute...or scrapper....or even a tank.....
Some stalker attacks do alot of damage...but if you actualy compare the top assassin strike to say any of the other melee classes top attack...the other archtypes usualy do about the same if not more.
With Your selections i can undertsand why you might not have played them beyond level 30....this is not to be mean to those sets...as they work very well and as expected....but that was exactly my personal issue i suppose with them....they work exactly as expected......there was no suprises to them....i kind of got board playing those same attack types on stalkers....
And for defense wise....the ninja one and superior reflexes....just seam hum dum...maybe becasue they are similar and just seams like i did that already....too many times....
I would suggest playing kinetic melee for a stalker...and take a differing secondary like energy aura or willpower....i wont suggest regeneration becasue that would make you probably get frustrated on your stalker.....
I also might suggest if you want more difficulty but still have fun...to use claws....becasue they only do lethal and dont do as much damage as you might expect...but they do have a faster recharge....and consume less energy...thus you can claw attack alot more things.... -
I found energy aura a good secondary for Kinetic Melee...it provides a good combination of protection and some good defenses....plus you can say you are a Kinetic/Energy Stalker. I wil be honest i dont know how the changes planned for Energy Aura will work out....but they may be very good.
I also have a willpower stalker but i use claws....and so....i guess i am really making it difficult for myself. But then again i am abusing Willpower...and deliberatly trying to make sure i am increasing my health and giving my self increased recovery and increased health regeneration....and when I get to the right levels i will start working on my recharge so i can make sure i can use my self heal alot....and hit even faster. With the claws i am delibertaly putting special IOs that do differing things on them...like knock down and differing damage types that can go off every so often...I am hoping with a fast attack speed i will actualy get those enhancements to work alot more often and thus not be penalyzed for the low damage and lethal only damage i do with claws.(yep trying to work around the issues) -
Quote:Hmm well i dont know...i seam to just run out of energy alot....hasten consumes 25 energy when it goes down.....the attacks i use take 10 to 30 energy depending on what i am using.....the recovery of 200% of normal just isnt keeping up.....uhhh what? Energy Drain and Power Sink have the same recharge and both return 25 end to you unslotted, ED even has a bigger radius. (I never saw anyone saying the recharge on ED or PS isn't good, that's a first - I complain about Dark Consumption and Consume but they have triple the recharge time)
My Brute never stops attacking (well she's a Brute), and if you'd ever played Stone Melee you'd never say I'm miscomparing because SM is MURDER on your blue bar, the animations are fast on the ST attacks, faster than KM, just check mids - the big hitter, Seismic Smash, has a 1.5 animation time, and the mallets are fast too. As I said she was the only toon on SOs that ran out of end with speed boost. And she was only slotted with acc and endreducers.
Here you can compare KM and SM end costs: http://tomax.cohtitan.com/data/power...at=Brute_Melee
Also, you're wrong on the toggle things. /ELA Brutes have a damage aura which costs double of one of your def toggles, plus the s/l shield, the e/n shield and the mez protection, so even without Tough (which I have too) it's like 5 defensive toggles. 6 if you count Tough. I'm still with one rechred slot in Power Sink and no end problems anymore. I also have an Ice/Fire Tanker (damage aura, taunt aura, s/l shield, e/n shield, tough, weave) with a power similar to ED and PS that returns less end than both and he has no end problems soloing, and fire melee is faster than KM too.
If you're having problems with a toon that has a Power sink-like power, you just have to slot it better. with 4 pieces mixing performance shifters and efficacy adaptors I can max out rech and endmod, I didn't do it on my Brute just because I didn't need it since she's no AV soloer, but I can solo and kill EBs just fine after Power Sink (again, try to play stone melee and tell me later if it's a end light set, my KM/EA stalker is much lighter on end and she hasn't reached ED, no end problems here - my DM/EA had a bit till 28 and after that she was fine - and I say 28 because it was before inherent fitness and she had a staminaless build because of Energy Drain).
I dont seam to have much issues with health loss though...becasue if i get hit....it usualy does sooo much damage...i end up dead anywise....kind of rare...i dont usualy get hit.
Keys trial is a differing story though.....as i cant seam to dodge that.
For what its worth though i dont think has a bearing on energy...i due seam to have very poor accuracy...even though i am using tons of things to increase my accuracy....so i do tend to miss alot....well not as much since i got the incarnate power that increases accuracy....but still enough that it drive me nuts when my assassin strike misses. -
Quote:I think you are not understanding....my stalker is level 50....and on many Trials and Task Forces....i end up attacking big enemies that dont go down in a few hits.....takes alot of people and constant attacks in fact.....thus after about 20 hits i start seeing my energy go down more and more......and the recharge on the energy drain isnt the greatest....i start losing energy rapidly after a while...recovery just doesnt keep up forever. Not really since you get energy drain at 28. My Stone/Elec Brute ran out of end even speed boosted (no Energize back then), after Power Sink with 1 rech SO (which we only get at 35) no end problems ever anymore.
I realize that you think a brute with stone armor and using electricty melee is a good comparison.....but that is in no way shape or form close to a Kinetic Melee/Energy Aura stalker.
You are comparing a character which uses maybe 2 toggles for defense to a character that uses 3 or 4 depending.....you are also comparing an attack type that actualy drains energy has a slow recharge and doesnt use as much energy because of the archtype you are playing....to an attack type that hits faster....uses alot more energy becasue of what it does and the archtype.
I actualy tend to use both energy reducers becasue of the energy loss i get.....so like i said....i may end up not being able to stay using my chains as much as before.....but then again i dont really know....the changes have not happened...so its kind of just suposition right now.
The really weird thing....is that i do actualy use the knock back aura during trials...as it pulls aggro from night star and siege for example and marauder(yep i try to take aggro in the trials) and it actualy does knock around escaping minions in the bahavior adjustment facility...so it being changed to a stun.....if it does get its energy it uses reduced...like to a normal aura effect instead of per target attempted thing......that might be the biggest help of all for me. -
I kind of aggree with the OP in that they need some attention....though i think Stalkers need to do a tad more damage(like alot more as in at least more then a controller or someone not specialized to assassinate targets) and have some better defenses and resistances......also need to get their accuracy raised.
Just how many times does someone have to miss with a supposed assassin anywise?
I think all my Stalkers suffer from that same low accuracy too.....weird how that works out.
I suppose it doesnt help that there are things that actualy deflect your hidden attacks now too....
Right now i dont know which i find more irritating.....trying to do a big hit on something out of hide and missing or trying to do a big hit out of hide and it gets deflected and you get attacked by everything.....>_>
Does make me laugh though.....there you are literaly point blank right next to the enemy and you need to roll to hit...the enemy isnt actively defending or anything....yet you still have to roll to hit.
LMAO...that always makes me laugh when i think about it......i thought it would be funny if they for some special occassion put that in for doors you open and other things......there you are clicking on the door....oh and you miss...that would be real funny.....irritating after a while but funny....imagine at the auction house.....you try to make a bid...but miss....maybe miss like 3 times in a row like stalkers do...or how about with the team invite button....they invite you....you click...but miss.........ok sory i got on a tangent -
I think i kind of agree with some people that Defenders are not that great and almost useless in many circumstances...they where not always this way...they actaully had some fairly good range and damage....their snipers shots could actualy kill even level minions in one shot most of the time.
but due to...i dont know...anger(i really annoyed them during that Arena Test I think)....or something else....the powers got as they like to say..."re-balanced".
The effect was they lowered the blasts damage and range and increased the amount of energy it took to use them and the animation times.
They also went through many secondaries and increased the energy costs again and reduced ranges...enough so that you notice as a controller you can cast the freezing rain for example at a farther distance then a defender.
And by the way for a good laugh....read through the forums.....if they have not erased it.....there should be a topic...telling the developers to play a Psionic blast/storm defender........and the developers proceed to play storm/illusion controllers instead.....and posting how they dont see any issues. -
I have one Ninjitsu Armor Stalker...that i just dont play much...like level 30 something....kind of just puts me to sleep.
I am currently playing with Willpower/claws...and its interesting...with having a self heal and a power that increases your health points....I admit her attacks are not that great...but go figure...she is clockwork catgirl....so she looks cute.
I too have a Kinetic melee/Energy Aura Stalker.....though i dont know how the changes will effect game play with her....she plays just fine right now...and i find she sometimes uses alot of energy.....and with the changes....she might start having energy issues depending on what she is doing....which means i possibly wont be able to to keep up some of her attack chains int he future....but go figure. -
So the OP couldnt use Triage?...thats not in Traps?
i am thinking he never actualy did this trial.....
As he would have been whining more about the pulses destroying his stuff he summoned more then about some leader.
Though i could understand a leader getting mad if he just saw someone not doing anything or continualy pulling out acid mortars....right near Anti-Matter.
For those that dont know.....its not about damage or pulses doing more damage...its called any form of attack whether it be a debuff or even zero damage on antimatter....makes the pulses happen more often in that first portion.....
Its very annoying....there is no defense or resistance to pulses....only healing....no place to go to to escape them they always hit....and they do alot of damage.
Luckily they stop happening in the last portion of the trial...but up until you get those reactors knocked out....its a huge pain.
By the way......the Spawns and such in other places...not where antimatter is.......should have been the Ops priority location.......
SOoooooo if he was hanging out by anti-matter...well....there you go....that can easiy get people getting mad at you and thinking you are causing pulses.
Anywise that Trial is the most annoying thing....
*By the way...looks like people on this thread trigger off the dark/dark part.......Op said he played a traps/pistols.... -
Quote:Actualy you should modify that to say...The difference is survivability between a Blaster and a Stalker is significantly larger than the difference in survivability between a Stalker and a Scrapper. However, folks are arguing (with reason) that Stalkers should do more damage than Scrappers.
Blasters pay dearly for being able to do high damage, and thus should be easily the strongest damage dealers.
Blasters Out-damage stalkers normaly and do even more damage with their build ups.
They also can outdamage and attack faster..due to faster recharges and do so with range...while a stalker ends up chasing the targets or having to get in close.
So I am just not seeing the paying dearly part for blasters.
Exactly how are they paying dearly?....lower health?...looks only 100 points different to me.....no defenses?..they get those in their epics and from ancilary pools....so again not seeing the paying dearly part.
I do see that Blasters have their extra damage bonus inhearent power and and their ability to stilll use attacks while stun held or slept or even while knocked down....
Which reminds me...what exactly do stalkers get as their inhearent power?...the hide power lets them do criticals.....but thats from the power itself(just like blasters get usualy an immobolize power).....I mean from the actual archtype -
i think you will find less stalkers because they as an archtype begin losing their primary ability at higher levels and also other archtypes else can achieve the same results if not better....i.e. the entire they hide and then assasin strike a target.
I mean seriously...which is the better scout...a stalker or an Illusion controller?
which does better damage from from being invisible...a stalker or a blaster?
The higher the level you go the farther behind the stalker falls
*by the way...i am not saying i dont play stalkers...i like playing i guess them becasue i guess i like the challenge of trying to oout do the other archtypes.....i will say though the most annoyign thing for me so far has been being on a team....and the defender healer out does me in kill counts...thats really annoying....stalker damage on too many things is really bad. -
Quote:I play them over a scrapper...because a scrapper is exactly what they look like....there are no surprise when you play one.....you know you do damage and can hit....and take damage and the usual....scrapper = hum dum typicalThanks for the responses. After reading them, I'm thinking maybe I should instead ask "Why would someone choose to play a Stalker over a Scrapper?" Other than character concept, role-playing, or a burning desire to play the first 20 levels of the villain content, of course.
But with a stalker....you can go invisible and you can strike things with an assassin strike and sometimes kill them....you also get to sneak around and have a differing sort of power collection...you can also play like me and try to do the absolute mission minimum(For me thats getting a mission to kill a target and then killing the target but with out being noticed)ok so thats not that big of deal...and you dont get a bonus for that...probably lose exp for doing it that way too...but it does make me feel more like some ninja or super assassin.
I admit.....on the trials they do get hammered....especialy in the keys trial...the pulses make your hide go away...and low health means you get sometimes one shotted by the enemies...also the hide sometimes doesnt work on some things.....so your first and primary defense/offense is taken away which does make them seam to be bad choices...also due to their poor burst damage and slow burst damage they wont get many kill shots.
But go figure....you dont have to do the trials.....you can do them until you get whatever you are trying to get and then do other stuff.
*You know you dont have to be a villain in Preatoria...and i found being a stalker there is alot more fun..HERO STALKERS FTW!! -
Quote:That is a good question....the only thing actualy mentioned specificaly was defender and corruptor power sets....and not all of them either....and not all the powers. This is kind of a thread jack but I figured it was close enough to avoid starting a new one... Does anybody know if Stimulant from the medicine pool is getting made into an aoe with the issue 20.5 updates to currently single ally buffs?
but the beta server might shed more light on that -
Quote:Now you're making stuff up blatantly. Recharge cap in this game is +400%, a.k.a. 1/5 the normal recharge time.
By frankenslotting for health/end mod/recharge, AB, by itself, is already down to 150 seconds. By adding in AB on yourself, you get to ~200% recharge, dropping it to 1/3 the time, or 100 seconds. Hasten provides 70%, getting you to 270% recharge, and putting hasten (assuming 3-slotted with recharge enhancements) to 121 and change seconds. From there, you can either add a fourth, or a couple small bonuses from sets (for example, Sting of the Manticore in a snipe, 5 slots, 7.5% recharge bonus, though more for a better buffer isn't a horrible idea) to get over +275% global recharge.
Now, unless City of Data has some slightly off info, RAs are 500 seconds recharge, 90 second duration, making them non-permable solo, however those are gravy on top of the already high powered boost from perma-AB/Hasten, perma-Fort, and the ability to heal for half your HP with Heal Other, whose downtime is negligible at this point.
Throw in Power Build Up for Fort, Maneuvers, and even weave (since you won't need AP or Ressurect, or possibly even Healing Aura), then some set bonuses to taste, and you're walking around with more defense than you need to softcap in incarnate content, mez protection, massive amounts of regen, endurance that doesn't run out even when you nuke (AB's +recov is far greater than a nuke's -recov), and being to-hit capped against everything in the game (except the occasional DE emanator drop or venged Nemmies).
This is all from real numbers and having played half an empath duo built around that concept, so don't try to say "you don't play empaths".
You do realize that not every superpower can stand on its own, right? Just to take an example from Heroes, Ando ended up getting the power to boost the powers of others. It doesn't give him anything he can do better to fight others, but in a large fight, he can act as a force multiplier for the others. Hey! That sounds familiar!.
And who's to say there's anything wrong with wanting to play a support role, anyway? Some heroes don't like the limelight. Heck, Stargirl (from DC comics) is the stepdaughter of Stripesy, the adult side-kick to child hero Star-Spangled Kid. And when she took up the mask, he built a robo-suit named S.T.R.I.P.E. to be his own stepdaughter's sidekick.
And thats the definate making up data proof for all....picking specific sentences or lines and responding to them.
Like pointing out other web sites...do you even use hero stats for eaxmple for real data no...do you you use ingame information...no...its called you are spouting about using a program and not even playing and talking about numbers you got from a web site...thank you for proving my point about what you play or dont play.
And for your second point...there is nothing ever wrong with choosing to play as a support character but that should be a players personal choice and in comic books its a character choice...but as the examples you show....those specific support characters dont have issues with for example not being able to put a their force field powers on themselves. And they can use the cosmic converter to heal themselves(which is what is was designed for) and to help others as well.
And thats thing...they dont just stay as support characters....when the time comes they can and do step up and do something...and thats what players need to be able to do.
They need to be able to use their powers on themselves when they need to....
Since you brought up All Star Squadron....remember what happened to Sandman when he got hurt very bad...he was so badly damaged that he used his device to see his own father who was in that temporal room...and what happened.....his father...the ultimate support character realized he need to take his place...so he did...his father stopped being just a support character for his son and did what needed to be done.
Oh and by the way....Excellent choiced of Series to Read...All Star Squadron.....and another one that really will remind of you this game.....with its alignment system now.....Thunderbolts from Marvel Comics. -
Quote:Oh that would explain the turret thing. The stealth cap is lower than 150' for the first levels, and you can be seen by turrets (100' perception) even running Hide (150' stealth). On my sneaky characters I monitor PvE stealth radius, and I don't remember offhand when the cap is over 150' and Hide works how it's supposed to but I think it's around level 15 or 16, and somewhere around level 9 or 10 that it's over 100'. That can explain some of the issues people may have reported about being spotted by turrets.
Once the stealth cap is over 150', nothing in PvE will see a Stalker with Hide active (ie, not suppressed) that doesn't ignore any amount of stealth. As mentioned before, those are any character-targeted ambush (since you're already on their aggro list, perception is never checked), Rikti drones, Knives of Artemis (unless you have to escort them out to the door... stupid/horrible tip mission design), and Rularuu eyes.
Also got some other interesting missions that have encounters that see through the hide of a stalker....they are mostly council misisons...that feature wandering patrols....the patrols are 3 council members all minions....they also will talk as you approach them saying things like "we have to make sure no one gets by"....so anywise they dont put many fo them in but they are annoying if they are behind a door you open and they suddenly attack.....
or maybe go into a room to kill some enemies and the wandering patrol shows up.
The last few missions i had these in...i had one whcih had 4 of these patrols and another with had only 2. ...cant recall if it was laura brunnetti that gives these missions or not...anywise the conatct is in independence port that seams to give them....they are also the same contact that gives the story arc for the nazi that puts himself in a cryo-chamber to start up the reich inthe future.(eventualy he runs off to another world) -
Quote:first off....you dont play an empath much at all...how do i know you ask...well....your statements...little things...like not knowing maximum recharge for adrenalin boost was 150 seconds no matter what you do or the 25% damage and thinking thats boosting your damage alot(yah small numbers still get rounded down 25 becomes a whopping 30 damage with fortitude)....thats called a looks good on paper error....you read statistics but never actualy tried to do it in game.healz0r detected
Absorb Pain - I agree that would be generally dumb to use. Enjoy, that's about the only thing I'm going to agree with you on.
Heal Other - twice the healing at half the recharge is a "little more"? That's four times as much, on top of being able to stack on healing aura. Tell you that, if this is an irrelevant difference, I propose we lower your character's abilities by four times and increase mine by four times. You wouldn't see the difference, and I certainly would like to hit for 2000 damage with Foot Stomp.
Adrenalin Boost - duration 90s, base recharge 300s, this power needs 300/90 = 333% recharge to be perma. 100% base, 100% from AB casted on yourself, 70% from Hasten... All it takes is 63% from set bonuses, which any high level emp build should have (if not much more). Yes, you won't be able to cast it on someone else if you use it on yourself, which is pretty much irrelevant to the context we're talking about here (self buffing).
Clear Mind - 1.12s cast, 90s duration, that's exactly in line with click mez protection that SR and Shield get (1.716s cast, 120s duration) ; but I guess those scrappers just run without mez protection because it doesn't last long enough.
Fortitude - +5% acc and +10% dam? Sounds like someone has never played an emp and is just assuming the buff is the same as what his seer lore pet gives. Try +24% tohit, +25% damage and +17.5% defense, or if you PB it, ~+40% tohit and ~+30% defense, or basically the ability to softcap with fort + power pools ; but hey, that's probably worthless too, nobody ever cares about defense right? It's not like tons of builds are designed with that in mind or that people are willing to spend billions for an IO that adds 1/10 of the defense PBed fort gives.
So let's recap what an emp would get from buffing himself - softcapped, limitless endurance, IH levels of regen at all times, the ability to heal yourself at an extremely fast rate if damage manages to get through all that def+regen, stackable mez protection, enough tohit to punch through AV Elude, and none of this requiring specific conditions like enemies in range, crashes or whatever.
Yeah, all those emp buffs sound really useless. Where can I sign to be able to buff myself?
Also your statements make it seam like you didnt know the auras already get cast onthe empath when they get used....you needed to add them in as some reasons....but failed becasue you didnt realize that the empath already has endless energy and they also dont get alot of damage....so in essense the only thing a heal other on themselves gets is a little bit more damage protection becasue they dont have a resistance or defense.
And the clearmind comment...yah spoken like someone who is affraid their tank or scrapper or brute or whatever is not going to be able to monopolyze the resistance to holds thing
So lets as you say recap....
You are someone who doesnt play an empath much at all...and if you do you do not know how your own powers work....and is trying to say certain features are going to happen that are already there....hmm interesting.....i would say....perhaps you should play this game sometime as an empath and then actualy post on the forums once you have a clear understanding of what that means.
There are more pro reasons to being able to cast on your self too.
One is for choices......players would have choices......as a defender empath you could choose to heal a teammate or heal yourself...you could choose to put adrenalin boost on someone else or yourself...the question becomes who needs it more...as a master of healing in the empath debate why are they so stupid that they cant even heal themselves right now? If you are a Defender shouldnt you be able to defend yourself? Is your character too stupid to know how to help themselves so they can help others? Again its choices...should you help your self over someone else....adding a choice is always good.
2nd is for the solo player who could add some defenses to themselves to maybe survive better or be able to actualy dish out damage to things instead of having to always rely on some tank or someone else to do the things for them. Isnt it tiring to run into the clockwork paladin construction and being unable to stop it? Isnt it about time to stop always needing help when fighting the Elite Bosses? Isnt it annoying that everytime you get knocked over or whatever you have to turn on your whirlwind or hot feet or blazing aura again or end up waiting to land that killing blow becasue you are stunned or held or are sleeping.
And the last thing...is to actualy make a difference.....when you run with a full team...and they start acting super arrogant and they suddenly die to the crystal titan or suddenly eat dirt becasue they ran in to fight rularuu with out getting ready...or maybe you had some bad pulls or someone went off and died while scouting..then thats where your own defense comes in.....its not about tanking or being a tank mage or whatever idiocy people are coming up with.....its the same thing for jade dynasty or playing AION or playing final fantasy XI......at that moment in those games....you survive and you change the battle...you rez everyone else in mid stream...you continue the fight...there is no stopping...you actualy do make a difference at that point....in this game thats where it needs to come in...a point where you can put that shield up on your self and actualy take that beating for just a little longer while your friend gets back up....the point where you relize you need to heal yourself and retreat so you can pull the rest of the team out of there....that single point where you stand up and be the hero/villain/vigilante/rogue/resistance/loyalist that the npcs talk about.
And thats the reason people need to be able to use their powers on themselves.....they need to be heroes...not always sidekicks...the game is about becoming more.....not becoming less.
(by the way look up the definition of sidekick...its interesting...its amazing people on this topic dont realize a support role technicaly means sidekick or lacky) -
Quote:lolI just realized how hideously powerful my Plant/Empath would be if I could buff myself. Why am I arguing against this?
/signed
you cast empathic heal on your self....ooops no more healing on you for a while.
You cast heal other on your self...wow now you actualy healed your self a little more then the empathy aura....wow so much over balance.
You decide to cast adrenalin boost on yourself....the power it self if you actualy have empathy you would notice doesnt get to a certain point on recharge...it has a minimum time of recharge so you wont ever get it permanent no matter how hard you try or how many buffs you try. So now you have used it on yourself you cant put it on another person for a while.
hmm....oh thats right clear mind....well if you get stunned or slept you still wont be casting it.....oh boy you gave yourself a 15 second resistance to things....
So anywise exactly what was imbalancing again on your plant/empath?
Oh wait i know it was the +5% accruacy and +10% damage bonus power.....gee thats going to break you something fierce....its almsot 1/5th as effective as using inspirations that last the same amount of time.
And since you cannot stack your own effects on the same target i highly doubt you will ever be more then what you are now...might be able to actualy take some punishment for a bit by actively healing your self....but aside from that....you would be like the clerics in many other online games....able to survive fairly well....if you can make sure you heal yourself...oh wait clearmind can get stacked....well...now you mean you might be able to resist some stuyn and sleep for a bit on some things....goodness....that really makes the game super unbalanced...
So if you had the ability to use empathic powers on your self....how would that make you unbalanced?
You run into a villain and what then.....kill it by casting clearmind on yourself?
Does anyone actualy look at their own ingame statistics anymore...this thread is making me wonder. -
As others have said its simply the way the game is being run.
They dont want corruptors or defenders being actualy competent like comic book super heroes and villains.
I think they want them to remain side kicks that force everyone else to protect them.
Dont worry think of your self like Orko fromthe HeMan Cartoon...or maybe Snarf from the Thundercats...Twiki from Buck Rogers...or how about one of Dr. Who's Companions.(Not Ace though, and not Captain jack either) -
Personaly i think that they should just be allowed to use their shields and buffs and heals on themselves....that would pretty much balance them out real fast.
-
Quote:Actualy it depends on what level of the bane spider scouts you run into....like if you run into Boss verison they have atactics effect that they use...thus they will sometimes notice you. Turrets will notice you as well if they are specifc types of turrets like the ones that shoot the machine gun, missiles and have the flame thrower on them(for when you get too close)Have had them spot my few invis'd toons all the time, but honestly have never gotten a Stalker high enough to test Hide this way.
A really weird thing that sees through hide is the skorpion arachnos...those are able to see through hide quite well.
The encounters on that mission in Preatoria that have a about 30 of the syndicate spawn as an ambush also see you no matter what now...that is a new change...as in you can die...go back into the room with them and they will attack you when you get too close to them.
Oh and another thing that sees you out of hide....the turrets inthe trials...along with the security guard captian inthe lambda trial..they are also not fooled by a stalker with hide.
And if you think any of those are not seeing you....you obviously have not encountered them...or if you have you had someone else attack them first or take the aggro first. -
Actualy i figured out what was making the mages notice me.
Seams in some missions they have these special things added in that make it so the perception on the higher mages is enough to notice a stalker. They call the items alters, ruin stones, and ancient texts.
Some of the missions require you to destroy them while others dont but thay are there and can be destroyed. Missions with these items have the enemies find you.
Also i found ones with ambushes...seams to tip off the other enemies now...thats for circle of thorns so far only....i have not had any other missions featureing other enemy types with ambushes tip off the enemies around me.
How did i figure this stuff out you might wonder.....i did alot of circle of thorns missions.
Also the stat onthe power i was refering to was to lower threat rating....so it seams the willpower hide has an issue....probably will get fixed about the same time poison trap fromthe master mind poison set gets fixed(thats the one with a PBAO radius of 0) -
What are they like...
Well for me....I felt the swords all felt about equal....they where ok...they did what i expected...and that was about it....actualy they kind of made me get board a bit.
Martial arts was also ok....it was a little more lively but just doesnt do the damage on a stalker that it does for a scrapper...
Kinetic Melee was alot of fun for me....it does smash and some energy...though i am not sure if it was fun due to its knock down effects...or the fact i slotted it for more knock down via kinetic combat enhancements.
Claws...are fun for me right now...i am currently leveling up a claws stalker....its mostly single target damage though and all lethal mostly...which is not that great...but its fast rate of attack and combined with kinetic combat's chance for knock down...makes me knock things down alot.....my next goal is to get some stuff that causes differing damage types.
I did have one weird thing though with claws....after i do a placate and if i get hit afterwards...i find i dont do the extra damage i am supposed to..yes placate does list this information....i dont have this problem with kinetic melee or ninja sword...so i assume its a claws thing only.
Electric...well i played this set for a while....and found some of its attacks just plain miss or dont go off much...like the jacobs ladder for example....i seamed to only hit one target namely my primary one only alot....
The interesting thing is that the sounds its makes...makes it perfect for the concept i was trying...which was to make a snake/reptile character...the sound effects are very much like that of a rattle from a rattle snake in my opinion. -
You can call them on the phone...to do what you need them to do.
But then they will require the original authentication codes you used for the game...and unfortunately....they will also ask for other codes if you even for example tried playing AION for example and hated it and canceled it.
Yep they pestered me for my registration code for AION a game i wont play anymore..took me a bit to find the box for it. -
Just noticed this with a stalker i am playing....wasnt like this before at least i dont think so.
On the hide power the bottom attribute change says it adds +100.00% to attribute(null)
Threat rating was also at 2..thought it went to 1 while hidden....go figure...
This is by the way on willpower for stalkers.
Also I am using claws....and strangely the good old hit you out of placate seams to have come back....as in you placate something....they hit you....you are not only visible but they can wail on you some more......
So this just might be a claws thing.
Soooo...anyone else notice any of this stuff.....i am wondering if something got accidently altered
I did think it was weird that the ingame statistics tell me i get more stealth radius with stealth or super speed then with hide......and also thought it was weird that ruin mages and things started noticing me and attacking...but go figure.....everything has perception in this game and eventualy everything sees a stalker....so go figure. -
Quote:I also agree that there should be some more coat options for the females.I did buy the pack:/ yes I like it but total agree with the jackets need to be for females too. Also I can not access all the costume parts they say we have from the pack for the female.
I also am having trouble accessing every thing for females and for males.
Like for example Victorian Steam Punk 01 is what females get also some Classic Steam Punk......but why even bother witht the 01 for females costume pieces because they dont get the other pieces at all.
Worse when doing the victorian set..you can only access some of the piees via specifc selections....like trying to get them in normal tight is not possible....doesnt seam to be a chest or torso option for females of victorian 01 style also no gloves.....i have yet to see a victorian sleeve option that people talk about....since i cant access the upper vcitorian 01 unless i only sleect jackets....select victorian 01...and then choose the chest symbol and belt as victorian 01.....i also noticed the collar was in details 2.
Classic Steam punk i am not delved in all the way...but i dont see any pant options at all for either of these for female.....you can choose the skirt for victorian steampunk 01 for femeales but thats about it.
Oh yes and speaking of clipping issues....shoulder pieces clip witht he jacket for females....alot.
On the male side....i found choosing a bow tie to cause clipping as well as use a monstrous head....of course i cant use goggles or a hat with the monstrouse heads....oh well....guess my saurian Mr. Brim will remain hatless and goggleless for longer...not a big issue.
Anywise on the males side i did notice the victorian steam punk 01 02 and 03....but didnt see all of these for each part....sometimes i would depending on the costume type...but normaly didnt see them listed.
By the way...the classic steam punk....on males looks more like some darkages villager outfit....dont know if that is really steam punk to me or not....guess its my opinion.
And i am curious about the wings....are they supposed to have a special sound effect for them....right now they dont even make the entire sound normal wings make....so i was just curious...
And the emote for the inspiration....is this supposed to have a sound effect with it? cause it doesnt.....its like the open gift emote.....whihc is also soundless from one of your previous packs.....I assume its supposed to make the same sound as the opening of a present from the holidays...ok sorry getting on a tangent whining about stuff that have been that way for over a year.
And lastly the steam jump power...and now it seams also the rocket jump power....since this newest inclusion inthe game...these two powers no longer enhance the speed for the fly power.....the description says they are supposed to...but they dont.
