Well, I did a quick Google search of Golden Age Comics, and unfortunately, everything and it's third cousin came up, including some modern interpretations of Golden Age, such as Air Boy and Masquerade. So when you're asking such a broad question, you're going to get a lot of broad answers.
I will add my voices to people clamoring for more mask options that look like masks rather than paint.
But in my search, I did notice a couple of themes that kept recurring - high collar capes (like the original Green Lantern), puffy, pirate-like sleeves and shirts (again, Golden Age Green Lantern, FireBrand, Red Bee, etc.), true, tied shut trench coats, including a longer, almost dress-like ones for females, and one or two jungle themed characters, like Sheena and also a male, "circus strongman" type version. I also saw a couple of turbans (notably Sargon the Sorceror).
I'd also like to make a pitch for "scale armor," like that on Aquaman's shirt and Deathstroke's costume. There's a pattern called scales already, but it's just not the same. If scaled shirts would head toward copyright infringement area, at least consider scale pants.
Things like safari jackets and pith helmets (and perhaps even the jungle garb I mentioned above) would be fun too, but maybe they would be considered more "pulp" than Golden Age. Even so, we want 'em and would love to have 'em. -
" I couldn't get anybody on the team to believe Shaneferno was being run by a four year old. Sure, he sometimes hits rain of fire when the spawn is almost all arrested. Sure, he doesn't always clear out his inspiration tray to make room. Sure, he pops off fire sword circle when he's not in the middle of the bad guys sometimes."
Heh, I'm a few months from 40 and *I* sometimes do all of that still. LOL -
I have thought of suggesting this very same idea, and I'd like to see it developed. I think even just a pool of five weapons to choose from to supplement your character would be cool. I'd be a good place to reuse the whip animations, for instance, by giving your toon a chance to carry a whip. Or a shield, sword, war mace, etc. It opens up possibilities for builds and costume and concept designs, never a bad thing.
(Please) Make it so, Devs! -
I cannot believe that after many, many pages of player complaints regarding this costume set, including the pre-tinting, for sure, the lack of belt with holsters, too, but especially the questionable nature of the female costume pieces, that literally none of players' concerns were addressed. The Devs like to say they are listening to us, but it is becoming more and more apparent that they are not.
Those female costume pieces do not embody gunslinger. They suggest saloon girl, at best, old west prostitute at worst. It's shameful.
For a set that had so much potential ... well, I find it sad.
IMHO, of course. -
Quote:Great, so the very thing that makes Dark Astoria so intriguing and sinister and has made many, many of us WANT to see its story addressed is going away?!? That's just plain wrong.I love that effect, and it's going away. They're removing the fog effect and just going for night. After doing that, the citizen ghost effect looked rather ugly, so they canned that effect.
Adamastor, the demon brought forth by the Banished Pantheon to destroy the world, gets no Makeover and will basically the equivalent of a lieutenant in this zone revamp. One if the Devs said with some of the zone restructuring, he looked a bit like a pet scratching at the door (this was during dinner). On the plus side, everything else in zone should be pretty awesome.
Can't they use the phasing tech to, I don't know, keep it for a little while and then make it clear up after we've dealt with the crisis?
Seems REALLY counterproductive to me to get rid of such a distinct characteristic as the fog and disappearing ghost citizens.. -
"It was great to finally achieve the goal of a Rocket Board travel power and deliver it to the players in a fun and functional manner, we hope you love it! We hope to provide the same kind of "magic" that we did with Rocket Boards in the future."
I'm guessing broomsticks or mystical-looking hover discs are on the horizon with that "magic"-al hint. -
Two Words: LOVE. IT.
Great work on the magazine - keep them coming! -

NA player here -
Seriously, the only fair way to do this is to ensure that people who have had their global name longer gets to keep it. Hands down.
Personally, I couldn't care less if I lost my global handle because it was created when I played the game for the very first time and my very first character, whose name I wasn't happy with, became my global. I don't even play that character anymore much.
But obviously some people have give much thought, and invested much time and identity to their names. And if they have been using that handle for the last five or six or seven years, then they should be allowed to keep it over someone in North America who created an account five months ago. That's just common sense.
All I can see happening here is resentment and frustration and ill-feeling in what should be an exciting and promising announcement, especially when you couple it with the "suck it up, Euros" attitude by some of my fellow North Americaners.
I don't want to lose out on the opportunity to make potential new friends from overseas because they think all NA-ers are a bunch of self-interested, unsympathetic jackwagons.
Whether an individual thinks it's a big deal or not, it's obviously a big deal to some players who could be affected, and from a customer service standpoint, NC Soft would be very wise to put the needs of the current, paying player before the needs of a nebulous, once-and-possibly-future trial player.
And by the way, my global handle is @Jack of Rooks - feel free to steal it! -
Quote:Well, you know what they say - "pics or it didn't happen."Thank you all for the kind words.
Little Adrian is finally home and is doing well. Mommy and Rad are both good, but a little tired. Adrian does like his sleep so we will hopefully get some sleep when he does.
Pics are coming.. but sleep first...
Congratulations on your new arrival! -
Laugh all you want, I'd buy that - my character Bad Tripster has been wanting a medallion for a long time now. Add a Village People biker-style mustache and it'd be golden ...

Quote:While you're telling him that, remind him that there's a huge costume request thread with his name on it that he might want to consider paying some attention to ... I'd like to see a great deal of those suggestions come to fruition before more oversized shoulder globes and pads.Hear that, Jay? Make more like this!
I'll let him know how much you dig it.
Thanks! -
Quote:Nah, a Laura Branigan joke ... What can I say, I'm a child of the 80s ...^This.
Was wondering why people were walking around with "He popped the question!" and "She said yes!" gold titles last night.
Eh, I'll insert a Frankie goes to Hollywood joke instead.
Or a Jennifer Rush one maybe.
And many, many congratulations to the couple! Woo hoo! -
Autumn in Kings Row
Circle of Thorns crave victims
Damn, cave map -
For what it's worth, Vote 2 for the Roman sandals and strappy gloves and chest option.
I also vote for sashes, the Freakshow Mohawk - LOVE that hair - and the sybil robes as separates one can mix and match.
But I would definitely like to see new stuff - I have recently come to appreciate Steampunk and we need some good steampunk-inspired outfits. I also would like to suggest that the art team consider new pieces, like open emperor's robes, loinclothes, fur trimmed "barbarian" boots and capes, things we don't have already in one variation or another. The last really new, unique piece we got, in my opinion only, was the witch bolero from the magic pack. Stuff like that that we haven't seen before is the direction I'd like to see the devs take.
Also we need more mask options, especially masks like the Jester Masks that are placed on the face like glasses rather than painted on. Full masks similar to the Carnival of Shadows Masks or the Tsoo's Oni masks would be great. -
I think that the Developers probably saw how much money they were making from people buying new character slots to transfer their toons over to other servers and said, "Hell, yeah, another month of this would be great!"
I know I personally forked over $40 already to move most of my Protector toons over to Virtue and Freedom so I could play with my friends who frequent those servers, and will probably fork another $20 to complete the exodus now that they are extending the free transfers.
Whatever the reason, I say "thanks" to the developers for enabling me to play with my new friends with some of old favorite toons. -
In the case of more maps, and "logical" ones, to boot, I agree that some work is needed. The point was driven home recently when I played the guest author arc by Bill Willingham, I think it was, the quest for magic one. One of the missions had you going to one of the villain's mansions to recover an item, and the map turned out to be a standard office map. It struck me as very odd, and didn't ring true at all, that the game wanted me to believe that this was someone's house. It just didn't work for me.
So I thought, why couldn't there be a mansion map? Maybe with secret subbasements for mad scientist labs or dungeons or magic ritual spaces? How useful would that be for architect stories, or new content?
Someone on the forum a long time ago suggested a school map, like an elementary or high school. (Yes, I know there are virtually no children in Paragon City, but ...). Classrooms, a gymnasium, a lunchroom, etc., that your heroes would have to navigate to save hostages and such. That opens new ideas for story arcs and contents.
I would like to see the game also move beyond the City a little bit, to different locales around the world. Send our heroes to a supervillain's tropical island lair, or arctic hideout where a naturally occuring blizzard or environment could add extra challenge. Send them to Europe, or Egypt, or some South American ruins. Or to the moon or some other outerspace destination. Or even an underwater lab (you wouldn't have to swim to the mission door - use the COV subs to "transport" our heroes there.)
These are just a few ideas. I'm sure far more creative chaps can come up with even more. -
I don't know if anyone knows the answer to this, but I was wondering: Any new costume pieces to go with the Santa hat, boots and gloves? I'm crossing my fingers for a fur-trimmed cape and/or hood ...
-
Quote:Yes, hysterical. See how so many of us are laughing our butts off at his dismissal of one of our favorite characters.[disclaimer- I'm on BaB's side in this issue]
Was he flippant? Yeah, that's because he's a funny guy. Does that mean you need to take it personally? No.
But I suppose that's just more emo-theatrics, too.
Whatever. Onward. -

My question is, if we're getting alternate Martial Arts animations that use fists instead of kicks, can we get the costume department to stop using Martial Arts as an excuse and FINALLY give us long skirts/robes?
But really, Power Costumization is so very much appreciated. Thank you Paragon Studios team for a tremendous feature. -
My hope for Going Rogue is that we're getting more new powers than just Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning.
When COV was added, the content included new archetypes and a good amount of new powers. I would hope for nothing less from a new expansion. Powerset Proliferation is always nice (hoping for a Dark Blaster someday) but new powers - water powers, quarterstaffs, whips, throwing daggers for blasters, some kind of "magic" power, light/laser/photon blasts - would be most welcome and a new expansion would certainly be the time to unveil a lot of new goodies. -
Water powers. I could see both water blasts (geysers, water streams, water bursts, etc.) and Water Control (hold your enemies in water bubbles, etc.).
Magnetism - blasts or control, again.
Shape-shifting - probably a scrapper set. Turn into a bear, or an ape, or a tiger or lion and attack your foe.
Animal Control - summon a python to hold your foe, or a rhino to charge at a group for knockback and smashing damage. Spirit animals as was suggested before would be fine, too.
Magic - I had started work on a Control set that used magician's props to hold, stun, disorient, etc. Flurry of cards would send a storm of playing cards to disorient. The magician could hurl steel rings to hold foes. Or scraves could bind them. For a pet, could summon a Playing Card King, Queen and/or Jack to go out and fight for you. Or a giant rabbit. -
Beeee-YOOOOOOO-Tiful!!!!
Thanks, Jay, can't wait to own.
