For this shall be thy most collossal and stupendous guide to ye proper methods of roleplaying.. for ye...

    1) thou shalt talk in a old-timey way. (thou, thy, shall, dost, stupendous... all acceptable). To find out how to do that, read alot of william shakespeare and Mark Twain and stuff. (No relation to SHania Twain but I wish he was *drool!!!!*)

    3) Thou shouldst make lots of references to feasts like "where's the feast?!!!"
    4) practice roleplaying (or "RP") language even when you aren't in the game such as: " Where is my report? Yargh!"

LOL. That's priceless. Makes me think of an old B&W hygiene film they would have spoofed on MST3K or something.

Before getting to archetypes a few words on travel powers. Actually a few words on the only lazy travel power: flight. Set your destination, hit R, and relax for 5 minutes while flying halfway across Atlas Park. Really, there is no other choice for the lazy player.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You missed the ultimate in lazy travel. Whatever power you pick has no bearing. Just find a team with someone that has recall friend, and constantly ask for a tp. Doesn't matter if you're level 14 or level 50. Don't move from the tram to that mission door maybe 200 yards away. Ask for a tp. Never move your own lazy butt across a zone. Expect the poor sod who picked 'recall friend' to do it for you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Make sure to have your TP request set as a bind so you don't have to re-type it each time.

I played with a lvl 24 energy blaster who said almost nothing besides "tp me" "heal me" "tp me" "heal me"...
There was never a please or thank you involved.

Talos is the best place to find masks. The office buildings near the DA gate have spawn points all around them (and some further west along the bridge as well) that frequently spawn masks - but only at night.

So basically you can hunt there at night, and move to DA during the day.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agreed!
Or if you want to work on several badges at the same time...
Get a team of 6 to 8 folks that need spirit masks and warrior leaders or tsoo sorcerers.
hunt the many masks near DA entrance (in Talos) when it is nighttime. Then run West along the highway to the warrior/tsoo spawn points while it is daytime.

Is it the NPCs whose names begin with "E" that give you official Paragon city time? click them from time to time to help you get back to the DA gate by nightfall.

In any case, a team will help you get the badge much faster although your XP mileage may vary.
  13. I've probably done it about 8 times across 10 characters...
Once you have the basics down, it can be a 2.5 hour gig but I've had it run over 8 hours also...

if you want it to go well (easier/faster)
    1) save it for a weekend when more people are online
    2) only invite lvl 14-16 characters with travel powers
    3) Have a healer and/or buffer to keep your team alive
    4) read any FAQs you can find some of the TFs have stealth-related shortcuts
    5) have everyone fight the same bad guy (as mentioned in previous posts)... Highest lvl first.

The XP can be pretty good if you have the time to spend.

  14. Well, if you are an ice controller, he may have just been saying you could get Jack Frost...
But I bet it will be snow or holiday villains including snowmen...

-Stone armor painted white would make a pretty good snow monster.
-snowballs would be a good temp power
-freeze all the lakes for skating!
    -Giant Jack frosts running amok!
-Devouring earth drop christmas trees and channuka bushes instead of fungi

    -PsiBug(activating my garland AoE)
  15. It really is a great looking trial! The caverns are GI-normous.

Ran it very smoothly with a pickup group last weekend (had failed it twice before at the fungus wall)

Our winning group was 2 controllers, 2 defenders 2 scrappers and 2 blasters. 3 members were Exemplared and only 1 was lvl 39. we did it in about 3 hours.

What didn't work for me in previous missions:
    1) not enough damage dealers (or too low level)=more time for stuff to spawn at door... death
    2) opening our attack with decoys.., decoys fade=aggro on controllers.. dead controllers... dead team.
    3) mapserver disconnect=lost exemplar... group disbanded

My tips for successful Eden trial:
    1) It can be hard to get a team together. It might be a good idea to post "Eden team forming" on the message board in advance. broadcast or request in PI,TI,FF and Eden while forming.
    2) If you can mooch some ambrosia from other players in the zone before you start it won't hurt!
    3) have at least four tough damagers and plenty of healers/buffers. We only had 2 deaths but it's a good idea to have a couple of people who can Rez. The hospital is far away. bring an emergency awaken.
    4) healers and buffers should probably avoid aggro and concentrate on healing buffing and holding mobs (and maybe help defeat doors if possible. With a tanker around, this might not be so important.

    5) stay together as you drop through holes to 1st wall room (invis helps to avoid aggro)
    6) Take out the big Quarry mob or he'll come attack you while you work on the wall.
    7) If everyone can't fly it's good to have TP to bypass large spread-out hordes of mobs on the way through the caverns (several times). you can kill them but it's a big time drain
    8) After 1st wall is down. finish any aggroed mobs then fly/TP to bridges room. Don't fall in the acid lake. Also, some stinging mobs will disable flying powers but fly powers will come back with time.

    9) Clear alot of inspiration slots. Defeat all mobs on bridges until everyone has at least 3 ambrosia (maybe 4-6 for anyone who will be hitting the titan hard) then fly/TP to next big room with the boardwalk and lichens.
    10) Clear all lichens. Otherwise they multiply fast and bug you later.
    11) More mobs spawn as you hit the 2nd wall. Bring disciplines to resist the mushroom holds at the 2nd wall. When wall is down , finish off any aggroed mobs.

    12) Drop down to titan area, clear out all mobs except titan, free the heroes, (the water in this room is not acid)
    13) Pop your first ambrosia and take out the titan. watch your mission timer and take your next ambrosia before 1 minute has expired... I ended up using only 2 because our damage dealers were beasts. Be sure to have a couple of clear slots for the special ENHancement.
    14) Thank your teammates, trade ENHancements then exit the mission and talk to the woodsman.

The trick is to do alot of damage, stay healed and buffed, avois unnecessary aggro and pause between groups to gather your wits.

The 2-power ENHancement looks great but you may get one that isn't appropriate for your power sets. The badge however is all about you.

/cuffme (holds out wrists as if awaiting handcuffs)

/laser (appearing above the villain's head: a laser, the world, the world blowing up)

-PsiBug(yeah, the booger thing might not fly...)
  19. Not sure this is a "SERIOUS" problem. maybe just a minor inconvenience.

Bust Gang Leaders, thier Crews Contact: Andrew Fiore
Ive done the first building for this little Arc, he's telling me to goto the 2nd Building yet he has not given me a location....This mission has been bugged for prolly 2months now and no contact from ingame GM's, I've been sending countless bugg reports about this mission.. First time posting here about it since I am sick of wasting my time waiting on help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Be sure to read the original post in this thread. I don't think you get a reply when you use /bug. For a problem like the one you were having. you should use /petition. That will alert a GM to come and assist you.

Someone may have said this before...

I'm an Empathy defender with Recovery Aura.
If I am too low on endurance to actually use Recovery Aura and try to activate the power, it triggers the animation as if I had used Recovery Aura (spread of the arms, blue circles of light, y'know...) but doesn't buff me or my teammates.
    <snip>

    [/ QUOTE ]

Group invisibility does the same thing. It can cause problems.

    [ QUOTE ]
See what you can do, please?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Be sure to read the original post. Devs are pretty good about reading alot of posts here, but doing /bug in the game is a better way to report a bug.
  23. Maybe there is going to be an agency of superhuman studies which would enlist your help to:
    a) tutor real or NPC supernoobs.
    b) engage in "danger room" style testing of prototype weapons
    c) perform skill tests and puzzle solving as part of a scientific study of superhumans.
    d) accept community service type assignments like some of the numbered list below:

1- Save someone in a burning building (break down doors/find safe path)
2- Get shrunken and save the shrunken scientist.
3- Get inside the doomsday machine and deactivate it
    4- There's been a cave-in. free the miners
5- Retrieve all the radiactive meteor fragments

You could be required to gather knowledge or tools, or problem-solve to complete these missions.

Whatever the system is. I think it will offer locations and or abilities that aren't otherwise available in the game.
  24. I've seen some good looking hero art in this forum. I bet there are alot more artists out there with sketches, drawings, paintings of superheroes/villains. Show me more!

I'll be submitting a couple of things by email, but in the meantime, here are some things for this thread:

    1) partners...
    2) Withered Husk
    3) Cover of a comic book I'm working on
    (and my avatar)

Hello, I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I got fortitude the other day and can't put toHit enhancements into the slots, yet it says it will accept that type of enhancement.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This may not be your problem, but ToHit Buffs and ToHit DeBuffs look almost exactly alike. I've occasionally bought "lookalike" enhancements that wouldn't slot up... Doh!
