Anything on paper tends to be outdated as soon as it hits the print...

Nicely written... and I can spot Asperger's Syndrome a mile away. XP
Good to learn what the name comes from (and your character seems fitting given the introduction of Inventions), and I'm wondering how this leads up to a new hero... or villain? -
Many people actually.
Sweeeeeet. And we have a new redname! Awesome!
Uh, I'm just wondering, being in an active Supergroup won't be necessary for Inventions, will it? -

Oh - and I'd love to do a giant mech game. Love it.

Well since Microsoft Media has the rights to Battletech for the electronic gaming angle (Xbox, PC, etc), see if you can bring back a great series..
[/ QUOTE ]
Like what was said above me, I would prefer an origonal setting to an old one.

True.
When MUO comes out, another annoying thing may be the Marvel purists constantly complaining about inaccuracies. -
Besides, it probably ain't quite as fun playing a game you spend all day working on. XP

I wonder how long CoX will last after MUO starts. Only time will tell...
[/ QUOTE ]
Depends.
Apparently it is only for Windows Vista. Not only is the operating system itself going to limit access, the hardware requirements will probably be much higher than CoH/V.
That is only what is obvious. There are various unknowns.. that will remain so till we can actually play the game. Is the game still casual? That is one of the big things about CoH. It is a CASUAL MMORPG. That is a big strength. Those that normally would never lay down money for a MMO will do so for CoH. Then... well.. will we really enjoy being trapped in a marvel story? It isn't like CoH. It is unique.. anything can happen here. The devs can do what they want with the story because it is THEIR story.
CoH isn't dead yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey, Marvel's taken PLENTY of liberties with their storylines...
I doubt the game will or can be a direct adaptation of Marvel at all. They're re-created the characters of it so many times now, it doesn't matter. -
Wow, this is the redname rampage I heard about.
City of Heroes is actually Cryptic Studio's first game, ever, MMO or otherwise. But these guys came right back from role-playing roots, which can't be a bad thing. Go retro!
[ QUOTE ]
No, hours upon hours of playing EverQuest and PlanetSide did that (not to mention all those other games that I shouldn't mention, cause well these are the CoH forums). But then, I don't design the game, so you are safe!

I'm kind of surprised there isn't an MMO based on 'mechs yet. An entire genre of anime is based on giant mechs - I'd think there'd be a huge market for a Battletech, Robotech, or other 'mech-based MMO...

Exteel
[/ QUOTE ]
Except Exteel isn't really an MMO... more of an FPS with MMO flavoring.
And Jack, if you do a Mech/Mecha MMO, I promise that I will take back every nasty thing I've ever said about you and the rest of the Devs. EVER!
[/ QUOTE ]
...and have plenty more to whine about with the new one.
Hopefully, Marvel will realise that one of the biggest strengths of CoX is the sheer variety of costumes and powers available, and limiting those= BAD idea.
I had my doubts already, but if they did make that mistake, I probably wouldn't play it.
Otherwise, I probably would. I'd try it out at least. I wouldn't mind fighting against or alongside some famous heroes/villains, if it was in a decent game.
And I think that City of Heroes signature characters should at least make a cameo. Portal Corp is the ultimate plot device. -
This is a very interesting read, especially to read about the history of Cryptic. And once again they mention playing Warhammer 40,000, woot!
And I seem to be the only one in the belief that a more direct sequel to City of Heroes will follow MUO. -
CHAINBLADES ON THE MAYHEM!
I want those wingies. WINGIES! -
And he wasn't bragging about soloing it at ALL. He was pointing out the huge amount of experience he gained. There's a difference.
-
Actually, we should just strap down all children, deafened and blindfolded, until they're 18.
-
I've been thinking on something like this too!
I think the animation should be based on your powersets if so desired. Like, a Broadsword Scrapper like Sabre Justice gets a flashy signature sword move.
This obviously has a basis in slightly cheesy superhero and anime cartoons, like a lot of cool things. Your signature move, in most cases, wouldn't be a regular attack but a trump card saved up for mission Bosses and the like (something that would be very appreciated).
This needs to be moved to Suggestions. -

Now that you bring up your whole story, Robo Knight, it makes me wonder...
jack thompson is probably some rich kid, who went to a really nice school, was/is spoiled by rich parents, got sent to a fancy law school blah blah blah...
In other words: He's never seen the outside world, except from the behind the slimy metallic wings of his parents.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those kind of people make up most of America's problems.
I went through hell at high school perhaps not as bad as some, but having essentially no help from my mother (parents divorced when I was 3, dad couldn't really help) and the public school seemed completely helpless.
The sad thing is, it's been like this for years. High school isn't like Saved By the Bell. It's a living hell that everyone turns a blind eye to.
You can't really blame parents for sending their kids to a private school- they'll get better teachers, resources and actually learn things, and the quality of students, at least in my case, is higher. -

Server02a 1up pph: "Moral Kombat" edbc: "There is no IMBD entry for the movie, and the official website is no longer active. The only other information is an Apple.com article on the project from 2005, which mainly focuses on the production, and not the content of the documentary. The article also states that the documentary was supposed to be released in the Summer/Fall of 2005. The movie is not available for purchase on Amazon.com, nor is it listed for sale on other online movie retailers."
Conclusion? A failed-production that fell on deaf-ears while trapped in eternal search of a Distributor. Haha!
[/ QUOTE ] The quoted entry and having Statesman post in my thread has made my day!

Word.
The thing is, we have nothing to fear from anti-game people in the end. They are generally not rational enough to actually make any difference. Anything they do attempt (like this) gets put down by people with clearer heads.
Believe me people, there is no need to worry. If this is the best they can do, I almost feel sorry for them. -

Nah, doesn't sound menacing enough.
