Just a quick note to anyone interested in HAMI RAID. Blue Side Hami raids are now a regular event. Leandro leads on saturday, Tritonfree will do sunday, and they are both on ULTRA channel.
People on Freedom Elite / RF2009 channel have completed Non-Evac Raids back to back Hive 1 and Hive 2.
In event we coincide on the same day and time, Leandro have promised to lead Hive 2 where as others may lead in Hive 1.
We have found that the population is big enough and varied in time zones that everyone in separate channels can either come in cooperation or even lead separate raids without any difficulty dependent on the amount of people available.
We would like to invite you and the leaders who transferred to this server to join us to leading the RED HAMI RAID as well. We would love to hear from you.
thank you so much to bringing HAMI RAID GLORY back to Freedom
@coldfate, @coldfate2 -
RF2009 will remain open to the public and may join without any invitation. Since it had been established, RF2009 have become No 1 on Freedom Server Activities as an open channel. Though many of us may have had our differences, its what makes this channel unique and well established. Mods for this channel is Turgenev, Sneaky Prophet, Mad Hatter Man, Stasis, Stilit and Destiny_Morna. I'm sure they have a vision to making this channel thrive.
-
I've seen 20 people waiting out in eden trying to get back in so, why not, if population merits for Hive 2 to be able to raid as well. There is absolutely nothing wrong with cooperating as well as joining or lead separate Hami Raid. This is after all for everyone.
It's nice to see more Leaders leading often then what it was when few of us have just watched on the sidelines. I would like to Thank Leandro, Triton, Sneaky, and leaders who transferred from other servers who's willing to step up to lead or participate leading a cooperative team.
Thank you so much for bringing hopes to FREEDOM again and to bring Hami RAID GLORY back again and not just have us move around to other servers where we've been RAIDING.
I would hope that new players who enjoy this content to learn from everyone who leads it well and thus bring NON-EVAC HAMI down to 20 min like other servers do. Hope we can come together and unite on this common cause to RAID often.
thanks again -
That's awesome, great to see you guys.

Congratulation for the inception of rf2010, we hope best wishes and great success. -
Quote:Aww so yer the MOLE who decided to play the game. lol Well, hope you can be nice to me next time rather then play like that, meanie.'How is it all an Otter Plot' you ask?
Well, it goes like this; Prophet was leading a raid, and he leads a good raid. I was told that at Raid Leads request I was to give Green Team lead to another. This person joined the team, was given lead, and lead a good first spawn. There was a technical glitch though. Seeing a golden oppertunity I excecuted 'Otter Overthrow Of Oppressive Regime'. They returned and lead us back in ta the goo to hold greens. But I held back a little. Not much mind ya, just a smidgt. This wouldn't normally be noticable except I was once again Green Team Lead and as such spotter for 6 other peeps. There was some grumbling and some feelings started to prickle.
Then I went full tilt against the next spawn. I went in first. To a different Green than the one Green Leader was heading towards. Seeing that there were trollers ahead and already on a Green the Lead did the sensible thing and switched targets. And the die was cast, so to speak. Little did they know that I was positioned not a few feet from a Yellow Taunting Tank. The Green team was wiped out in moments.
And all the blame fell on Green Lead and, as I suspected, decided that with all the blame falling to just sit the next attempt at the bloom out. I lead my faithful team up to where they stood, and sat there. Sure, some asked what was going on. To which I responded, 'I'm just following Green Holding Team Lead.' At that point it was a true enough statement. More blame fell like snow on England.
Seeing the damage was done I did my duty and helped finish the raid. But things were only beginning.
See, I had already laid down little traps and half-truths about. A slight insinuation here, a little nudge there. But I have to give everyone in rf2009 there due props. I couldn't have killed rf2009 alone after all. I am just one Otter. A clever evil little otter, but still just one otter.
Oh, how I lawled and rolled around the floor holding my tail as things descended into otter chaos. People were kicked. New pretentiously named channels were formed. More people were kicked. More channels were formed. And then my ultimate goal was achieved.
rf2009 was declared dead.
So, it is now in it's final gasps. All because a little otter shifted the blame for bad Green Team holds onto another.
d=. .=b <--- double otter thumbs up of victory! -
Congratulation for starting rf2010, hope your channel much success. Even to have rf signifies the spirit of radio freedom and the person who helped make those channels great. I would like to thank you for the continuance whether the mod. Free Spirit would be happy to know someone kept RF in the name of any channel whether a yearly refreshed or otherwise. Congratulation.

I would like to know who would like to attend the next blue hami raid aside from Sneaky's DaG sg Hami. I will post schedule dependent on interest from this sign up list. Now this is some what of a variation and a wish list for a nice ran HAMI RAID. Each Team has a specific purpose and this is a COORDINATED TEAM effort. Please do not come to the RAID thinking this is like LGTF or like MOTHERSHIP Raid. Please be patient during team forming and giving direction to teams are not familiar.
Guidelines: we will form at the entrance inside the HIVE please be patient and do not start killing GM until called upon. We normally start doing the HAMI SPAWN / EoE harvesting phase when at least 36 people are there for random EoE drops. Hopefully enough EoEs will drop for the raid. For the ease of the raid, usual ratio is around 100 EoEs per raid for people who are not comfortable. Well OILED hami raid doesn't require as much EoEs.
Please buy Jet-Packs at the Jet-Pack Vendor in FBZ, and please have few people go to Warburg for BIO-NUKES to help buff teams when called for AOE BUFFS before entering Yellow MITO Killing phase.
Thank you ahead of times.

Winterfest Event Hami Raid:
I know this is last minute but would everyone want to Hami Raid tonight? Dec 19, Saturday @8pm EST? I'm sure either myself or Sneaky will lead.
With all the amount of candy canes we can get from Winter Lord Hunts in the Realms, we can purchase temp powers like Golden Ring, Holiday Jet Packs, and Renewal of Light. Everyone can become a holder using a Golden Ring and fly around and rez themselves after a wipe and tp. Lets have a Winterfest Event Hami Raid tonight.
So what ever toon you want to play remember with the RING you can also play as a holder for the Green team or help the Green Team if we are small on Trollers. Bring out your EMP defenders, more the Regen powers the less the EOE's we'll need. Defenders can snipe Blue mitos from outside the GOO, helps the scrapper teams alot for you to help distract the mitos.
Bring your kins, rads, therms, and emps out. Lets have our HAMI JELLO shot ready.

With a simple "EUREKA" moment with Ninja Run added to the HOP situation over Hills and Heights. I have switched from using Hurdle to Swift again. Now whenever I'm in SS it's not a problem Hopping over Heights, with a simple bind, I can click to Ninja Run when height becomes an issue and back to SS again for speed. I thought about slotting more on the vet runs+Ninja run but I still wanted to take advantage of the UNIVERSAL TRAVEL BoftZ IOs and stayed with the somewhat similar Mid Build config.
Clicking from SS to Ninja then back to SS didn't have lag animation problem. Tp'ng over the height while running, you end up at a tp distant and you had to wait till you hit the ground again to run and that was an annoying lag for me for travel.
Thus with that travel tactic I don't have to use a generic version of ss+cj style of play with ss+hurdle. I can finally put back swift to help me during root and/or granite and allow me to move a bit better. Plus having SS/Ninja + Swift is alot more attractive.
I really want to Thank you all for your critique and helping me revisit my Stone/SS to Mid Build before I respec'd. I ended up testing my toon even before slotting eradication and kinetic in damage for extra defense bonus. I was able to stay out of Granite while playing and people started asking about my build. To be able to have both non granite and granite play revitalized my tank. Thank you so much again. -
Quote:Thank you for noticing that, I'll look at it carefully.
You also are beyond your set bonus caps for +10% regen if you were not aware of it, you can remedy that by re-examining your slotting for footstomp and mudpots if you wish.
Quote:I'd also consider removing the +7.5% run speed enhancement from rock armor and freeing up that slot to use elsewhere since it really hasn't provided you much use since you haven't stacked a lot of +run speed bonuses. If you're still going 1.4 mph in granite it's not doing any good and you'll still run plenty quickly in rock armor/rooted mode.
I really appreciate everyone's input and I'm working around playing with mids for sure. I've noticed a false % spike when you add the 3rd IO Set in Granite armor on my mids. Whether you add kismet or ancient soon as you place it the def % spikes up. I've done it over and over to see why it does that but it just does. I donno if that's just the mids or it's actually reflecting a possible bonus spike that my AT might see once we build it. Does that happen on yours?
I definitely understand putting 3 slot swift but again, my playing style have changed by running soo many speed tfs. I used to run my stone with 3 slotted swift and yes I did enjoy that playing style of benefitting being in root all the time. But again, once rooted as your build suggest, you can't super jump. I'm using ss and when you travel with ss you need some compensation to travel with a little hop unless I add combat jump as most pvp player normally does, eg: ss+sj. But most of other builds are now using ss+cj. Not like I'm going to use my stone as pvp but more pve. I'd rather cut down my STF time to 40 min rather than running over an hour. That is just a small example of how I play now. I'll ss+hurdle then pop root as I get in the mob I need to kill. If damage is a concern then I pop granite for security reason. Otherwise, I normally run heavily on speed, then kill and move on to my next objective. If I'm pulling all 4 AV in STF for example, I taunt then tp right to the corner by the ledge and face the AVs away from my team. So I found 3 slotting swift only helps if I'm staying in root and/or with granite. Like you said, it's a choice where you add one part to benefit and decrease others. I may though try to play with mids to where I may be able to add hurdle and swift but less likely because it's already a tight choices. Thank you soo much for everyone's critique.
Isn't it true though, you can only slot 5 sets of LOTGs right? There's alot of areas Gospel's remodified one looks nice, I'll look into mine and see what I can do. Believe me, I've been itching to respec my stone for days on end.
I have enhancement table full of HOs/SHOs and other enhancement tables full of LOTGs, Zephs, etc. I really appreciate everyone's help. I feel such a noob when it comes to Mid Building but I don't want to waste any more respec and learning to IO set them right with Mid Builds and your critique definitely helps. Thank you all again. :P:P:P -
This is the 4th mid draft and I believe we are pretty close to fine tuning to how I play this tank. I could have put kismet +6 acc where ancient +7.5 is and I do like the idea of adding +5 rech using wounds on EE. Decided to use 3 Golgi on roots instead of any spec IO sets. I still like steadfast +3 in tough. Having 4 Lotg helps this toon with ACC Bonuses including the recharge. I know about the swift vs hurdle but I prefer taking advantage of having a bit of a hurdle height as I run with ss then once rooted and/or granite with root, I'll just tp.
I'll take advantage of Ho's benefit eg in other builds like dm/sd's Active Defense, placing membrane helps DDR.
Anyways thank you so much for all of your help thus far.

Quote:Yeah, i left the granite with 4 on purpose on the 3rd mid draft only because i had a question about 6slotting like i used to. I really appreciate you sharing with me and I will play with the mids and will post another draft and see where we can fine tune it even more. Thank you soo much.I've leveled a couple of Stone tankers to 50, one a Stone/EM and the other Stone/Fire so I've acquired some familiarity with the Stone Armor set.
I can see what you're going for here.
Quote:As a stone tank I find that Swift is MUCH more useful than Hurdle... 3 slotted Swift helps offset the -run in Rooted and Granite.
Whenever I play my stone/ss tank, it's to run MoSTF and Hami Raid. Again, this toon is fully HO'd with some Gen IOs and it saddens me that I don't want to respec only to save 10 Ho's and lose the rest. I appreciate what you shared. Thank you so much. -
Quote:I really appreciate both of your time looking things up for me and critiquing, I normally play my HO'd stone tank for MoSTF and Hami tanking. Aside from being outside of Granite, I normally run thru mishes really fast and turn to granite when necessary like you mentioned, for example pulling All 4 AVs to the corner of the ledge and such. I'm just trying to build my stone the way I like to play is all and also learning the mids. Example of mids I still yet to learn is other AT builds. I've gotten the positional builds down pat but certain AT's can take advantage of recharge more often then either positionals or single defs. I'm just learning and needed an expert opinion so I can better utilize mid builds before wasting countless respec to fine tune my toons. I really want to thank you both. The key idea that I have proposed with my stone tank is using rock armor, crystal armor, and minerals to cap defenses to every damage type except for fire and ice. For any fire and ice situations you can use granite to mitigate damage from those damage types.
The only other downside to operating outside of granite is that you have next to no resistances beyond smashing and lethal and even with just stone skin they are pretty low. However, when face with particularly large groups of enemies you can use granite again.
The idea is to avoid the heavily penalized granite form as much as possible to increase movement speed (If it is a issue for you) and to avoid the recharge reduction and damage penalties (Which makes any solo play a hell of a lot more fun).
I think one statement that you definitely should relay is what kind of goals are you attempting to accomplish with your build? With mine I was trying to reach all soft caps through means of stacking armor toggles and compensating with granite where that couldn't be done. My secondary and tertiary goals were to overcome the recharge and speed penalties of granite.
Of course for every goal you set with a build another suffers a bit. So, what exactly are your goals ProGamerUSA? -
Here is the 3rd Mid Draft of the Stone/SS Tank. Brought up the ACC bonus, worked on Dam/Acc on Kinetic Combat, and worked on the Endurance problem for Eradication. My question now is slotting in Granite Armor, though long ago I used to 6 slot 3def/3resist, is it necessary now with the set bonus?

Here is my 2nd mid draft, I'd like to thank you for helping me thus far. I would like to bring up the Fire/Cold Defenses if possible and maybe bring up the accuracy. Are there any way to modify this further and make this build even better?
Thank you soo very much for everyone's help.

Quote:Most of the sets you've chosen (ToD, Mako's, Obliteration) are primarily positional def bonus sets, so you're spending a lot of slots to get relatively small usable defense bonuses.
Look for sets like Reactive Armor, Kinetic Combat, Smashing Haymaker and Eradication instead and it will help your build much more with fewer slots.Quote:Originally Posted by Gospel_naAs Finduilas said all of the defense in Stone are typed rather than positional so you definitely do not need to focus on sets that provide positional defenses.
Thank you both for that insight, yea I was thinking about that when i played with the positional sets on my 1st mid draft. Thank you, I'll work with it and see what i can do. thank you soo much. -
I've been playing my pre crafted IO Stone tank fully frankenslotted with HOs and Gen IO for a long time. Since I can't keep more than 10 Enhancement when respec, I have opted out from even trying to respec. After all these years, I finally started to look at mid builds and wow, I feel such a newby again. I've gotten to understand shields well in mids and have a beast of a dm/sd scrapper with positionals capped well, but when it comes to this stone tank I'm a bit confused. I'd like to use my 2nd build to make it a fun and enjoyable stone tank. Would anyone who's familiar and have a wonderful Stone/SS tank want to share their Mids with me? I would like to compare what I have and make the build better.
I'm still learning and am confused, when is it better to choose between positional vs rech for example. And since there's not many crafted IOs that can help with resist bonus, I know it's better to take advantage of def bonuses. I understand BotZ, LotG, miracle recov, num recov, steadfast, etc etc. Frankenslotting IO sets also dependent on situationals. I'm still learning and would love to have your opinions shared. I'd really appreciate it and thank you so much ahead of time so that I can learn more.
Here is my 1st attempt on my drafted Mid Builds thus far.

As soon as I got hit by it it was lag central until the buff wore off.
I had to actually run as far away from those bio nukes as possible. I couldn't even look at them be dropped.

Quote:Joining Sg is one thing, but joining an active global channel is another. Just come visit us on RF2009 channel, type /chan_join rf2009, you'll find many of us who keep hundred other lvl 50s. Finding people you enjoy hanging out with who team together is sometimes better and they have separate Sg's of their own. I for one have my own sg kept with only few of my friends with ports and beacons from all zones and have the biggest secure map. I've had top 5 sg's few times already and outgrown the sg thing when I have too many top lvl toons of my own to keep. :P:PHey just returning to this game after about a year. Going to be needing a SG so figured this was the best place to ask.
Really the only preference I have is one thats active between 6am and 1pm. I'm unable to play between 1pm and 11pm but due to my inability to sleep I'll still be playing after that time. I don't expect there to be any really active ones at that time(Though if there is thats awesome) but as long as there are people on for me to build a foundation for a Team I don't mind.
If there is activity at that time I'm willing to make any Class the SG may need and I'm always willing to be in SG mode.
Preferably Heroes but I also have CoV.
Oh there's other channels if you'd like to join as well but some are capped at max and some are made by new coh players just getting to know the hang of it. Just click tab, then click channel search, then you can decide what channel you might like depending on your preference. Look at the members vs active ratio. And also while you are there just ask for sg you might like to join. Good luck. -

Guidelines: we will form at the entrance inside the Abyss, please be patient and do not start killing GM until called upon.
Thank you soo much
