I always thank watchers, and generally thank people who fav my work; especially if they fav a lot at once.
Then if their work catches my attention while I'm at their page, I'll look through it and fav/comment/watch depending on how much I like it^^ -
Yes I am going to have to agree with you on all counts!
I totally love the forums here, even if I don't post that often. The forums alone are almost worth paying the monthly fee for!
And, like you said, I don't have to live on CoH to feel like I'm accomplishing anything. I never feel like I'm falling behind etc..
It's just shear fun and the amount of possible character builds is simply staggering.. I think all that combined is what keeps bringing me back!
Not to mention the community is top notch, and our devs are awesome. -
This game has tainted me for life.. I just cannot keep myself from playing it!
No matter how many times I try to quit, I keep coming back. I'll play other games and just keep thinking "Man CoH was so much cooler than this.."
So then I kick around the idea of coming back for a few days, finally break down, and do it..
Darn this game for being too good and addictive!
Anyone else have similar issues? -
Hmm
A Forcefield/Kinetics Defender would be buffing heaven..
And the defender could spam that AoE thingy in Forcefields! -
Hmm looks pretty cool, not so fast that its negates the need for travel powers, but fast enough to be worth it.
Reminds me a lot of the "Acrobatics" travel power in Champions.. Which was pretty much like having medium-grade Superjump and Superspeed at the same time. It even came with that ninja-esque run style.
Thanks for sharing, I was curious as to how it looked/performed! -
Then theres the newly added Cold secondary, which offers a bit less defense than FF (in the lower 20s iirc), but comes with a plethora of debuffs, and a Tier9 that gives you and your team huge end recovery.

Quote:Ya this is true, most people would think of an alien as science, or tech, not natural..I know. Sadly, when others say they want a Natural Origin character, they never think of the aliens. They think purely humans. Then wonder why they can't use some of the other sets.
I honestly use natural for most of my 'magical' stuff too, like my demonesque toons. I just claim they 'are from a different planet inhabited by demon-like people". Which would easily put them into the "Natural" bracket, not "Magic", as long as they don't get their powers from artifacts or something. -
Quote:True, except Natural's description states that they don't have to be human, but have abilities natural to their race.).
Normally I avoid the Natural Origin because really, RP wise a regular human isn't going to kick as much *** as the game play allows
Batman kicking Superman isn't going to beat Superman. :P
So you could be from a race of fire breathing, electricity spouting wolf-men, and you could consider yourself natural lol..
Anyways, my most two used are Natural and Tech. -
I'm all for it, as long as we get to keep the old faces as well!

Hmm alright, thanks for clarifying the Rikti stuff, guess we'll just have to see!

Quote:The thing is, that gigantic Assassin's Strike critical is sort of the flower in the crown of a Stalker. More than that, though, that much damage outgoing from an AT with as much defence as Scrappers just sounds like too much. Stalkers already skirt the line. A Scrapper with this much damage is just TOO powerful.
That's actually a problem with all Tanker sets, and why we see so few of them on Scrappers. Tanker sets are built around the expectation that you'll have a low damage mod, so they do these incredibly high levels of damage and have these big AoEs. Given to a Scrapper, these sets would not only overshadow just about all classic Scrapper sets, but actually push the AT as a whole too far up the power curve. Stone Melee, Super Strength and Energy Melee have this problem, and while Battle Axe and War Mace can be kind of said to, as well, their balance is actually lot more common to what a Scrapper typically has.
Well put, (going from memory here), But back when we used the BI index weren't the heavy hitting Tanker powers (Like KO Blow) Almost 10? While the most massive scrapper attack at the time (Head splitter) was only 6 or 7. -
Quote:Not to mention the zone has(had) so many problems I would almost rather grind than quest there.. God I hated that place.I'm still not a fan of the idea. It just imposes far too many limitation and ignoring those limitations makes it just patently silly. Fire underwater, electricity underwater, freezing rain underwater, hurl boulder underwater... The list goes on. I don't want to get into it, but I just don't see it working.
And, yes, I've seen what Champions Online did with this. They landed right in the middle of the bullseye of "SILLY!!!"
Travel for 10 seconds, get rubber banded for 5.. Travel for 10 more, get rubber banded again! They also felt the need to include like two dozen escort missions, which were all very failable due to said rubber band issues.. arg!
"Arg I failed because of lags!!"
*Goes back to starting point, see 5 other people*
"Hey lets team for this"
*No reply*
*Races the 5 mutes to the quest NPC, loses, has to wait another 10 minutes while the other guy fails and comes back* -
I'm guessing he simply had 666 tickets, not sure how the other people picked out those temp powers though. I could make out temp powers (as grey circles) after I knew they were there..

Quote:LOL oh man that cracked me up.. Your Avatar combined with that statement was just too funny ;P.So what would be the thematic opposite of Poison... hmmmm. Candy! You heard it here first, Heroes are getting Candy Manipulation in I17
Cold would be pretty cool on a MM, like other's have said, they already have Thermal, Storm, and FF, Cold is like a mix of all those so I don't see why not. -
Quote:Hmm, kind of like the Tier9 in Elec Armor, but you could choose the aura style/color, ect..Hmm... You know, I think I have to retract my "full transparency" idea and instead replace it with this - aura costume pieces. Not auras ON TOP of costume pieces. Auras INSTEAD OF costume pieces. Like, you have no upper arms at all, just fire where they should have been. Or you have no head, just a glow. That opens up a lot of possibilities.
That would be awesome! -
Quote:Perhaps it would be better if we popped up messages at random in bold letters on their screen saying PLEASE EXPLODE FOR BONUS! If you nuke while the message is up, you get a million influence and a cash register sound plays.
That's how I feel when I nuke in the first place though. If only I could sublimate that joy to others!
Anyhow, I guess that's all there is to that.
Rofl great idea!
I too love nuking, even on my Defenders, especially my Kins and Coldies
FS + Nuke followed by Trans is very nice
A saturated Heat Loss + Sleet + Nuke also puts out respectable dmg, and helps negate the crash. (You still drop to 0 but don't stay there if you Heat Loss saps enough).
Now on my Fire/MM Blaster, oh lordie I nuke whenever its up! Drain Psyche gets rid of the -recovery debuff, most everything dies, and I have end to finish off the bosses. -
Quote:RoflNot to mention the strange implications of those messages appearing as thought bubbles over your character's head. Makes your character seem like a neurotic mess.
"Your mentor's getting too far away from you! What's wrong with you?" *character begins hitting himself in the head* "Stupid, stupid, STUPID!" -
Aye they make for long battles, if your team can even handle it..
Just the other night I was on a villain side against a +5 Luminary...
We had a little bit of -Regen, mainly just Poison Trap and whatever good Dart Burst spam does against a +5 AV at level 50.
Anyways, it was a long battle, probably 30 minutes, got her to 1/4 then we encountered some bad luck and half the team wiped.. She regened to full, and we gave up.. Not what I call fun ;P -
Hmm what if they buffed the team depending on how they debuff the enemy?
For example;
Radiations nuke (since Rad Blast is a -def set), supplies anyone within 25 Yards a decent Defense buff for 15ish seconds.
Dark' nuke could supply a +to hit buff
Energy could supply KB protection
Sonic could give +Res buffs out.
Elec could give +Recovery
Psychic could give +Recharge
and Ice could give +Recharge or +speed (or both),
Rain of Arrows and Full Auto would be unchanged.
Concept wise its "leaching" from the enemy and giving to the team.. Makes it Defenderishy sounding, and helps encourage nuke usage. -
Quote:Well, that's sort of what Vigilance is but you get that from doing poorly. Arguably, Vigilance simply needs to be tweaked so it is soley based off of the number of teammates and not how badly they are hurt.
Hmm that's a pretty decent idea, maybe 2% discount per person in the team (including yourself). Which would lead to a maximum of 16% discount at all times.. Doesn't sound horrifically overpowered, but still useful.
Although I like the crit buff idea as well,
*Drools at the thought of an getting a "Critical" Fortitude and a "Critical" AB from an Emp* -
Yes, I have had this happen to me several times. In each case the AV was at least +5 to the team leader, and the difficulty was only on +2...
It's very annoying, especially on timed missions... -
Oh my god that was annoying. Due to that alone I was very unwilling to Lackey on my MM. Odds are if I was invited to a team and had to Lackey up, I would politely let them know i hate LK'ing on my MM and leave the team.

You could call the set "Berserking" or something along those lines. Sounds like a barrel full of fun!
