Quote:Yup, yup my most two common mistakes are picking up the wrong Tier1/2 blast (or picking them in the wrong order), or picking Jump Kick instead of Combat Kicking (not sure why honestly, but it does happen to me frequently)Yeah, that's the thing - you go through and pick your powers. Easy to miss.
But with Mids, or checking out a previous build, etc - you've got a checklist. Even if you don't use those, you have - as you mentioned above - the slotting phase. "OK, I want 3 slots in Emu Chucking... wait, I didn't pick up Emu Chucking??" *back back back back back*
Fortunately I almost always realize this during the slotting phase when I'm allocating slots.
Nowadays though I do double check directly against my Mids build, on a power-per-power basis, usually once after the power picks, and twice after the slot allocation. -
Quote:None of which cover the human error of "Woops, I clicked this power, when I mean to click that power" or something similar.Options:
1. Use the test server. Do your respec there, make sure you have everything, copy the build and redo it on live.
2. Mids. Download, work out your respec, follow your "leveling plan" as you do it.
3. Second build. Consider it a "free respec" if you haven't used it (you get a second at ten, a third when you unlock your Alpha slot.) Use that, don't worry about slotting, make sure you have everything, give it a trial run, then copy it over and do it on your main build.
(TitanSentinel from cit.cohtitan.com, will let you export your build to Mids to look at/print out.)
I have did this a few times, picked Jump Kick instead of Combat Jumping, usually I realize it during the slotting phase though. -

Don't modern PC's reboot when one of the CPU chips are dangerously hot?
That may be a problem if the OP's cooling is insufficient and some chip is overheating. -
Hi folks, having a somewhat reoccurring problem here, which is quite annoying..
I have Clarion Partial Core Invocation (120s recharge, 120s duration, so its one of the perma ones)
Every once in awhile the power will fire off, but nothing will happen. No graphics or casting animations, the buff doesn't kick in, but the power was used and starts to recharge.. Leaving me with 2 minutes before I can fire it off again.. (which can leave me dead in the water in certain missions like Carnies, if I'm short on BFs)
This seems to happen most often when Clarion wears off while I'm under a previously casted mez, and it attempts to recast itself (I have it on auto)
Under normal circumstances I would be mezed for a second or two, until the recast is complete, then go on my merry way. But now it frequently bugs out and the buff is completely wasted.
It's happened to me in 3 consecutive missions (Freaks, Rikti, Carnies), so something seems to be out of order..
Anyone else having similar problems? -
I personally just carry a few extra purples in iTrials. If I find myself in a situation where I'm taking on a lot of enemies with little team help, I pop a purple, which closes the Incarnate Soft Cap pretty readily.
I seldom use em on BAF, use them frequently during the sabotage phase in Lambda, and Keyes is completely random lol. -
He means as long as someone touches the buff radius within the Buff's duration, they would get the buff, depending on how much longer the original buff would have lasted..
So let's say a Rad casts AM. (and lets just say it lasts for 2 minutes, don't have the numbers in front of me.)
Mister Brute might have missed the original cast, because he was off Bruting and missed the call. He then realizes it gets close to the Rad Player 30 seconds after the Rad initially casted the buff.
The brute now gets AM, but since the Rad casted it 30 seconds ago, his buff duration is 90 seconds.
I envision it kind of like the buff is constantly radiating from the caster, and other player's have to "Tap it" in order to get the buff. Interesting system, which I wouldn't mind seeing implemented.
He was not suggesting it worked like the Big Bubbles, more like if the Big Bubbles gave you a buff that also worked outside their radius, whos' duration was dependant on how long ago the buff was "emanated"
Or correct me if I'm mistaken xD -
Quote:I think your right,Looks to me like it may be a composite image and that Manticore was originally pictured with the big guy (Citadel?) but got cropped or overlaid.
Take a close look at Citadel's left-rear shoulder. It has a sharp section taken out of it that looks suspiciously like a spike from Manticore's "Mane" thingy he wears.
If we were to assume that *was* where Manti's headdress intersected over Citadel, then his quiver placement makes sense as well.
So Manti might of been in front of Citadel, and behind states. When they Shopped him out they left in the quiver, and forgot to patch up the little section in Citadel?
That all being said, I think its a fantastic piece of artwork, and we all just have nothing better to do than pick it apart ;P -
Custom mobs with Buffs/debuffs can turn whimpy NPCs into terrible behemoths. The key is in balancing it so that its fun n challenging, and not cheap.

Ive tried Sonic/Trap Corr, Traps/Dark Defender and Bots/Traps MM..
My favorite is by far Bots/Traps (But I won't go into that, as you mentioned you would prefer to not play a MM), though Traps/Dark is also quite good.
I had my Sonic/Traps around back when PGT was a proc-monster, and the nerf/fix forever soured me on the toon, so I can't say how well she plays now adays.
I find /Dark synergizes quite well with Traps for several reasons;
It's To-Hit debuffs compliment FFGen extremely well. All this protection lets you easily use Trip Mines in the midst of battle.
It's AoE immob is very good at keeping mobs from running, as well as on top of stuff like caltrops.
It has a self-heal, the one major thing that traps lacks. (Traps has a nice regen buff, but sometimes you just need a good ole fashioned heal)
That and both sets are excellent for procs, and combined you have proc-mania on your hands. -
Quote:Yes, you can, and they actually go quite well together. CJ allows you to move without the drift associated with Flight and Hover.
Holy cow really? I might pair them up more often then <.<
That along with a nice little defense bonus sounds very attractive for certain toons. -
Been watching the physical DVDs for DS9 pretty religiously for the last month or so. Watching about 2 episodes per day, and loving the series so far.
Good to know they will be streaming all the treks soon too.
Now watch out for the price hike! -
Though it is flagged strangely if I recall, making accuracy less of an issue.
And I think the initial part is auto-hit? I have never, ever, ever seen that portion miss, but the part that jumps around from mob to mob might. -
I'm rather fond of my Dark/Dark/Dark defender, one of the oldest toons that I still actually play.
Might also be worth your time to wait for Dark/Dark blasters just to see how they turn out, could be interesting. -
Here's a list of what Arcs give how many merits, might be of use to you;
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Hero_Merit_Rewards
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Villain_Merit_Rewards
Some give better Merits over time, but I'm not sure which ones.
However, on average they give less Merits over time than TF's, albeit they don't require an entire team to do either. -
Quote:I would love to option to call fourth 1 super pet, in lieu of all your other pets.. For two reasons; As a general point, unless the AT needs a new inherent power I would think that it would be possible to just do it as a MM powerset. Yes, the current MM powersets have a certain power convention but it's not completely impossible to make a new MM powerset that lacks that convention. The only issue I could see is someone who skips the pet summon power but then people already do that with MMs.
1) Broken Pet AI makes it less hassle to control 1 pet than 6.
2) I'd love the option to have my Robots all merge into one giant killing machine, Ala' Voltron or Malta style.
(Zombies would be cool too, I imagine them kind of merging together to form some lumbering abomination)
Now before you shout "But, Bodyguard mode!" The pet could come with some sort of Multiplier so its just as effective..
Not like it will ever happen, but a guy can dream, right? -
Quote:But what would poor Pyro get?Synapse's Goggles for the Scout
Statesman's Faceplate for Soldier
Scirocco's Dreadlocks for the Demoman
Back Alley Brawler's Gloves for Heavy (Fists of Steel reskin)
Positron's Helmet for Engineer?
Manticore's Cowl for Sniper
The Dark Watcher's Wide-Brimmed Hat for Spy
I would seriously love this as both a TF2 and CoH enthusiast. I do hope that they at least push CoH on Steam's F2P "channel". It would get the game a LOT of attention. -
Quote:Doesn't mean they cant fix it within the constraints of the "Cottage Rule".They can't replace it due to "cottage rule" persay. But it would be nice if they had another power you could pick instead of it. I hope when they go F2P they will have some sort of micro transaction that will allow this. Though it would be nice if they did it for free, but I would pay for the chance to have alternate powers for some sets.
For instance, giving us direct control of when it explodes would do wonders for it (as well as cutting down the cast time, or make it non-interruptable).
Maybe treat it like OSA, it explodes when we attack it with any damage power.
Or have it function similar to Omega Maneuver, that Crabs get. -
This is how that "other Superhero MMO" had their Forcefields setup.. And I didnt like it one bit..
Especially after they nerfed em into the ground (along with everything else, but the forcefields got hit extra hard) -

Quote:Couple of things on Stalker Invul....
1) Generally when a proliferation occurs for Stalkers from the other Melees the first thing to change is the taunt aura(for Invul it's Ivincibility) becomes hide, moved to tier 1 and everything else gets bumped up 1 tier.
So the Defense from Invincibility becomes a non issue since Stalkers wouldn't get Invincibility judging from other proliferations.
Not arguing with your logic.. But it seems to me that taking out Invincibility would butcher the set pretty badly. unless they baked the effects in elsewhere. -
Quote:You can see how greatly the Legacy Broadsword outsizes ALL other weapons women have access to, including Rularuu's Bane, the weapon which was supposed to be impractically huge. That's because women use the same Legacy Broadsword model (same size) as the Huge model, but all of their other weapons are dramatically scaled down. And we had to fight tooth and nail to retain even that. BABs scaled that down, too, when weapon customization was still in Beta. And now that I think ahead to Titanic Weapons, I am legitimately worried.
I have always wondered why the Legacy weapons were so much larger than the custom options.. That disparity is not there on male/Huge toons? -

I would use this myself on a constant basis.
