Man, I made a thread just like this a few months ago, and it received no replies and few views.

Maybe people think I'm just the crazy stalker type.

Which I don't get.

I mean, the lawsuits were cleared up a YEAR ago.

Seriously though...more girls. So far every male has looked precisely like you'd expect (i.e. a gamer, heh), and though War Witch is cute, she lacks the black-and-green hair I was hoping for.

Statesman has said, although the post is long since vaporware and therefore cannot be proven, that he would like to do a City of Pulp type of thing. So yes, I believe this is a possibility.

Not the NEXT thing, probably, but a definite maybe for the future.

Seriously though, whatever gives us the option of more-or-less Pistols Scrappers is whatever I'm all the way behind. Come on, I got my ragdoll physics, which is what I've been hankering for since the first time I knocked a Hellion into a mailbox in Atlas; therefore it is NOW my fondest wish for dual pistols. The expanshalone they're included in is a detail.

A "techno defense set"? Now that sounds rather intriguing. I'm making a Dominator AND a Stalker in CoV first thing, and for the Stalker, I had just about resigned to going with Ninjitsu, the closest to the concept...but techno defense? Assuming they don't mean the Prodigy/Alec Empire/Shamen meaning of techno (although THAT would be cool as hell, lol), I wonder what that could entail?

Oh man, some sort of tech defense and a Ninja Sword for my Stalker? S W E E T! I put this little smiley in most of my posts, but I mean it this time:

We talking character-wise or in general? Eh, let's do both.

In general, whatever I come up with just gets dumped on me. Ever heard Stephen King talk about his Muse [rhymes with "fitting"] on his head? That's pretty much my experience with it too. It just hits me, no regard to time or place.

CoH wise, every CoH/CoV character I have is based on some girl I either knew or know (except for two, but we'll get to them in a minute). This isn't exactly new...whenever I had to come up with a character for whatever reason, I always made them female, and made them the polar opposites of all the "dainty" girls I knew (and that was all of them). I made them fighters, rogues, assassins, killers, warriors.

In my mind, my main character is modeled after a girl I was friends with for years (we've kinda grown apart), who's also named Alicia. They have different hairstyles and colors, and RL Alicia doesn't know Tae Kwon Do (as far as I know, heh), but in my mind she kicks a whole lotta rump. I won't bore you with the inspirations for my other characters, but take my word, I have an RL female in mind who fits each.

Perhaps most telling of all? My future CoV character is based on the girl I was almost married to, and had the longest relationship (5 years) with. She was also Hispanic, also a former juvenile delinquent, and I suspect also had an evil demonic spirit inside her telling her to do evil things. Buddy, if that's not Psychiatric Amateur-Hour Theatre waiting to happen, I don't know what is.

Oh, btw, the exceptions? I have two male characters, one who looks as much like me as I could get (though I'm not nearly as good-looking)...and the other one is a re-imagining of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (google is your friend) as a brilliant physicist. It's amazing what connections your mind makes when you stay up for two straight days.

Hmm, the new comic...I wonder what it's like to read that. I have yet to get it...hell I only got four issues of the Blue King comics.

It's my own fault, I guess...I've deactivated my account several times for varying reasons, which is most likely what screwed things up.

Anyway, is it as violent and dark as I heard they were going to make it? That's my kind of comic.

It most definitely looks like Crippling Axe Kick to me. Watch very closely at 00:58, and you see the characteristic up-down strike. Heh, I saw enough of CAK before I got smart and respeced it out (for Cobra Strike, far more useful) to recognize it.

Actually, it's funny that CAK is such a terrible attack (and a level 18 one at that), because I'm told actual MA axe kicks are EXTREMELY effective at hurting your opponent...your collarbone is not after all that strong a bone.

Hmm, after watching it a few times, I'm not even sure that's the CAK we're familiar with. It's more of a downward roundhouse, but it's not Storm Kick. There's a kick before it, but it's not Thunder Kick, because it hits the Arachnos(?) guy in the stomach, not the face. Eh, maybe a little artistic license with the attacks?

EDIT: Btw, you can have teleport...after watching Ghost Widow work her voodoo (that she do), I believe Phase Shift is in my villainess's future.

Hmm, go back and watch the old CoV trailer from last year, and you'll note that Statesman taking the punch by Recluse, er excuse me LORD Recluse...reacts pretty much the same as Scirocco does via Statesman's punch. Could mean something.

Hmm, I note also in that screenshot, that they finally have included what I've been asking for for months now: blinders. Chains, bandages, something to cover the eyes, in other words. Helmets and dark glasses just aren't the same thing. It looks like they'll be for villains only, but that's cool...thanks to this trailer, it looks like I'm going to be playing CoV anyway.

Btw, Ghost Widow, it hardly needs saying, owned. Yeah yeah, you can say that the Hero team needed a Tank all you want, but everyone knows that Controllers are the important ones. They just can't do a lot by themselves.

I'm definitely looking forward to the Energy Snakes/* powersets.

You know, when it's put like this, I begin to think that Brawl deserves some credit. That's pretty much exactly the way Puffyshirt sounded, as I recall. Btw, yes, Arucard, he did stay around longer than release, because he was still posting when I started posting here. I never saw him say anything truly off-the-wall or obviously trollish, but I wasn't a board addict then.

Of course, I remember quite a few people complaining about SpaceKitten as too, and she (?) has never said anything I myself have had a problem with. Shrugs.

On-topic, I sit squarely on the fence (metaphorically speaking, heh) when it comes to anime and manga. I like/dislike some of it a whole lot, but then again, I like it or not because of the story/action/characters/dialogue/whatever, not because it's anime. It's the same thing as my opinion about the movies The Incredibles (awesome) and Shall We Dance (never in a million years would I even think of seeing it, much less like it). You see what I'm trying to say here, right? I just can't find it in me to hate any media universally.

Btw, you'll notice my avatar is nothing anime-related, though I admit a certain curiosity of how she'd look in a schoolgirl outfit. Hmm...anyone know how to get drool out of a keyboard?

It's a great idea, but don't let it go THAT much to your head, as it'd be pretty much a requirement they do SOMETHING like that. Otherwise HvV fights could be decided ahead of time, without any fighting.

Heh, it reminds me of when Quake 2 came out, and my roommate at the time was absolutely convinced that since he had emailed ID suggesting falling damage, and it was in Q2, that it was due exclusively to him. I never could convince him that they had probably already thought of that.

Good avatar, Statesman, even if I liked the "head-on" flying one better. Myself, I would've tried to capture an image or short clip from the CoV trailer, specifically that bizarre side-kick thing (which, honestly, I hope is an Incarnate power, along with that cool ability to twist in midair), but eh. It's all good.

Clobbertime, that's a great idea. What they really need right now is some good publicity, and showing up in-game would be awesome. The only problem would be that oft-discussed distinctly Statesman helmet, because it's not in the character creator (yet?). Not that that'd stop him, of course, but it'd be fairly obvious.

Yeah, that'd be cool being on a team with a dev. It'd be hard not to give themselves away though, when people are telling lies and gossiping and spreading vicious and silly rumors. And that's just teaming with me!
