They tend to prefer them on sets that don't have an established look. fire is fire Lightning is lightning, rocks is rocks, and ice is ice. Bio armor BETTER have some good effects. Moreover it should probably come in "Squishy" "metal" "liquid" and "Exoskelton" versions

In the same way that Invulnerability with a second costume slot made of Stone and/or Omega costume pieces is a thematic match for Stone Melee.

not to be a derp, but which teleport bind?
-
Imma make a grasshopper!

Now that I thin about it, MA being sort of the opposite of Devices makes sense
I still want caltrops though.
Quote:This is such a great idea. That is in fact exactly the thought process I initially had for the power, and I think that thought process still holds up today. I put -range in there because I think that KB + -range is the better analog to ranged immobilize than just KB + let them shoot you. -
I'd be down for this! Sounds very cool.

It only shows when they are hit. Which is ALSO a thing I'd like to have.

I'm actually not opposed to the "Half a Dominator" idea, I've been wanting a good "mixed bag" AT and Blasters often enough fill that role,(Dominators could, but their power selection is too limited for my tastes) Having some light control, melee, and ranged damage in them. I like them that way. Over-loading a potential MA set with nothing but melee powers and a few self-buffs would make them LESS useful to me than a straight-up MA stalker. In fact, It'd would be just plain odd to be worse at MA than an MA Scrapper/Stalker./Brute/Tanker if I got almost all the same powers. I love the versions presented that included Caltrops and Shurikens and whatnot.

What Strato is saying is that a Blaster is basically half a Dominator. I want an MA secondary as much as anyone. But I REALLY don't want another Energy.

So I'm trying to get a bind to work properly and I was hoping for some help
I need the bind to say a short phrase in Local (or in an emote bubble) perform an emote, and activate hasten.
I plan to use the bind semi-often, often enough that it will see use even when hasten isn't fully recharged. When Hasten hasn't recharged, I want it to perform the emote instead.
Currently, when I try it when hasten isn't up, it still performs the hasten activation, and doesn't perform the emote. -
on my Melee "AoE ALL THE THINGS" Sonic/Elec Blaster I use it in combination with an AoE Immob to due stun. Occasionally I'll use it for the knockback.
-
I know that it can be used mid-jump, if that helps.

That's the idea, yes. Originally, the idea was that the modes would be swapped so a to-hit Penalized, targeted location version would be the default, and you'd switch on the toggle to use "Traps Classic" but I guess some people might be a bit put off by that. Switch the name to "Emergency Tactics" and you have the same effect without the change to normal traps.
Sometimes it's hard to get any use out of my traps in fast-paced teams and missions(barring stealth and "Toe-bombing" since I shouldn't need a pool power to make a powerset effective, it should stand on it's own, Devices excluded from this, obviously). This idea allows me the option of taking a more active role in combat without fundamentally altering the set. I really love applying Seeker drones and caltrops into the middle of a mob and thought it'd be nice to be able to do that with all my traps.
I assume their needs to be a trade-off for the greater mobility and application of the traps in this mode. The To-hit penalty makes sense to me, conceptually, You just fling your trap willy nilly and hope something gets hit, versus normal Traps being deliberately placed with the forethought of where enemies will go in mind. -
It's not a buff to Traps/Devices so much as an optional strategy shift. When picking Devices/Traps you'd get the toggle as a "Free" power that functioned similarly to Swap ammo. When toggled the Traps would work as they currently do. When untoggled they would allow you to throw them at a targeted location at the cost of some to-hit(or maybe debuff effectiveness))
Potentially, It could be the inverse, a Power called "emergency tactics" or "Urgency" that gave you the targeted traps, but I just like the idea of "preparation" better
The idea is a Traps(and devices as well) player could switch from the pre-setting and planning to a more active style on the fly. -

So, A thought occurs.
An improvement for the "Summon at own location, interruptible" Trap powers in both the Support set Traps and the Blaster Secondary Devices.
Preparation:
Toggle Power
Endurance Cost: None
Recharge time: Fast.
An Ounce of preparation is worth a pound of cure.
While Preparation is active, your trap powers work as normal, summoning at your own location and taking a moment to set, leaving you open to attack, but all traps set with Preparation receive a To-Hit buff from taking the time to plan their location. While Unprepared(Preparation is not toggled on) Your trap powers give you a targeting reticule and fire without interruption, but have less of a chance to hit when triggered. -
I second this. I want pretty much every texture as a "Tanker" option

There's a lot of stuff in this thread but I want to add one thing
If they DO make other "origin themed" power pools. For the love of all that is holy DON'T
1: make them origin locked
2: Make them mutually exclusive.
