Dust off those forcefielders and farm some large inspirations..
Final Battle - Friday the 13th, 20:00 GMT - Recluse's Victory Union server
Holding a pvp night at friday in the form of a RV takeover. Spread the word as much as you can to your fellow heroes and villains, it's war.
We'll be gathering at the bases at 20:00 GMT then we'll reset the zone and scare off the farmers. When both sides look a little balanced and are ready, a signal will be given and it's time to charge. Things will be messy over broadcast, but I'm sure things will start off reasonably equal.
The winning side will be determined by who can take the zone over 5 times, anything goes. There are no rules, just a few points of interest for a fun event;
- hero vs villain trashtalking is encouraged, but no whining or singling out people over broadcast please.
- keep second account buffers at home please, they are not needed and might keep players from getting in when there is a good turnout
- if you like playing both sides and things seem onesided, please consider switching for a more challenging fight.
- please try to refrain yourself from messing up the zone, before everyone starts.
I'll be playing a villain and I'll try to get in touch with some of the bigger SG's I know off. You can contact me on one of the characters in my sig or @Power Doll if you have questions, suggestions or want to handle heroside things. I hope you and your friends will all join, tell as much people as you can. I'm looking forward to it. -
Just tested my stalker and I must say I'm very very very pleased. The fear effect is fun, the faster rehide makes it a lot more usefull in battle and the hp bump is very noticable.
But the thing that really stands out is the omg damage, I didn't think it would make such a difference. I too, like Maelwys have +damage set bonusses and tactics, which allready brought me up to 36,5 % extra damage. And this on top of it, makes even claws amazing. I kept one and two shotting minions with procs and crits flying off like crazy.
I never thought claws was underpowered, but certainly in teams it just didn't make much sense. Now I can't wait to team, and maybe even kill something else in pvp, then the same AT's over and over. Like it was some sort of unwritten rule. -
I don't know if you read this but the next patch will contain a huge stalker buff including a higher damage scaler, crits out of hide and other nifty stuff. I wish I could give the source, but my internet is acting funny. Check the american boards if you want detailed info on the new test patch notes about this.
This has made my day -
Meh now I feel bad I said DA could be more for pve. It can be good I think. If you play it smart, you can combine the stuns from EM with the stuns from DA and detoggle that granite friend of yours :P
-
I you want it, take it. You have a totally viable reason. My own experience on any AT is that when I take too many attacks, it just distracts me and it takes up valuable powerpicks and slots. I'll give you a little sample build. Not saying you should follow it, but just take what you like from it.

Note that while lvling up, I would take weaken and/or empower, because you need some mitigation with FA -
If skipping empower is what you wanna do, you could skip blinding feint too
-
Any stalker primary is good, don't get pushed into energy melee like so much people. Your original job is to kill squishies and lethal damage does that just fine, scrapper fights are doable if you are carefull. The thing that makes energy a bit too nice, is the mag 4 stun you can put on someone without getting noticed. But dark melee has an amazing fear, spines/claws both have a good ranged attack and katana/dual blades/martial arts have some hard hitting attacks that could do a good job if you approach them with some skill. If you are new to stalkers and want to pvp, the only thing I don't recommend is dark armor as a secondary. It has some nice tricks, but it seems more for pve. Choose something that suits the character you're thinking about, cause whatever you pick, you're the one who has to watch it for 50 levels.
It's possible to kill a granite though, it takes a long while and the only thing you should use is assassin strike, because of the unresisted damage. -
hehe nice, finally some damage on a damage AT
-
I have this char on the test, and it's a DB/elec, so I got a little extra recharge. But you could easily do that with combining some cheap, crappy sets.
-
1. yes
2. no you wont lose damage, lvl 41's are actually quite fine
3. procs work at any level
4. likewise but it needs to be 41 if you want the other bonusses of the set to work
be patient, veeery patient. IO's around 40 tend to be low in stock and expensive (villainside that is) -
In my opinion you don't need the empower and weaken combo. You have a perfectly flowing attack chain by just using attack vitals and sweep. Could be just taste ofcourse
-
Do stalkers have def in pvp? And nobody told me?
-
I think it would be nice if /whoall would show how many heroes/villains are in the zone even if they are hidden.
-
Put the other end of your blades into the enemy.
-
Learn to spot what you can't beat.
And then try it anyway :P -
yeah I'm using that too
This is the build I was working on before I got burned out on heroes. Just posting it because it's fun to compare a def tank vs a dmg tank, not to get my build flamed or anything.

Mmm seems I can't import the datachunk, but I get your reasoning. Slotting of health was just to free up a slot and not for the runspeed, it could be just normal health IO if you want. It seems like a good build, the only thing that I couldn't live with is just 2 slots on stamina. In my days as a tank I got drained till I cried and unstoppable was my only backup for that. But I'm glad I've been of some help.
Edit: Seeing as you are trying to crank up defenses, have you looked into the steadfast unique btw -
Heya Alvan, looks like a great defensive build. I saw a few things without altering it too much, maybe it's helpfull if you don't mind.

I've never really tried Arena, only against some friends. So I think I'll bite. Sounds like fun, but what will I use :P
-
ok fair enough, maybe I'm just too locked into a claws mindset, where I have to scrap it out for ages after my innitial spike
-
On the damage procs I dissagree, these fire 33% of the time and outdamage the wimpy stalker punches, which is better then scrapper crits
-
I've tried a recharge build before, but too bad it didn't make much difference, animation times were holding it back. But on the other hand I can go beyond 30% extra damage now ^^
-
Looks nice, I've been playing around with those sets in the builder. They do amazing things. But I have a minor nitpick, take one rare damage IO out and slot the rare proc, then make you last slot some mako that covers the space you need filled up. Those procs are too good to pass up.
-
Yes as SR I suppose you can use some mitigation. Personally I only have strike, slash and focus for maximum DPS. It's great to see how a set can be played so different
