This took me a couple views to get. BUT i finally did. The train station for me worked best because there were things in the foreground that helped. Once I got that one the others just popped out naturally. Cool stuff!

I took your original image and overlayed it onto the untouched screen capture then played with the opacity and came up with some cool effects. It reminded me a lot of the current X-Force comics. They have a realistic yet comic look. I'm at work but I'll try to post it up just for fun when I get home.
I agree with the poster who said he loved the Rikti image. I too would not know it wasn't drawn by hand if I hadn't seen this thread. Cool stuff indeed! -
Okay I really like where you are going with this. I've seen some of the web comics based on screen shots and they didn't have that comic feel to me like these do.

I have a spines/dark toon that I love playing and I love the name. The only problem is I just can not for the love of me come up with a decent costume or concept for him. I know sometimes just playing the toon for the sake of playing them is fine but I really become more connected to toons that have a bit of story and style (or in Bully the Clown's case lack of style).
So here's my challenge/plea for help:
I need a decent story and costume for a magic spines/dark toon named Nathanial Raven. In my versions I've adjusted the head to have a very pointy chin and nose. I keep going towards the darker colors ala Dark Watcher in RWZ which is probably where I'm limiting myself. Also I have a hard time using loose clothing on a spines toon because of clipping etc but not opposed to it. Also please feel free to use the new I16 spines as I hate the Banana Man look.
Here's what I've done and don't like. Sorry for the bad color and darkness. I'm at work and only had a sec to grab the image.
Oh and for now I cure this by always running Murky Cloud lol. (I think that's the stealth power right? Sorry I have a horrible memory for names of things) -
Those are some great pieces CR. You should not be hiding a talent like that! Although I now have one more person to be jealous of as I have no artistic talent.
I haven't drawn since I was 11 or 12, which ironically my son is that age and is drawing up a storm. He's getting good too. I hope he keeps it up and he could be half as good as you some day! -

Bully the Clown is a fire/ss tank. He was picked on as a kid. Ran off to clown college. Given a magical cow doll and poof was turned into what you see here. Ignore the halos please they were a mistake. And if you need better ref's I can difinitely get one. Feel free to pick you favorite costume and I'll get you refs of that. -
Here is Crescent Blade for your perusal.
Quick bio: Crescent is a young teenager that watched way too many kung-fu movies (Black Belt Jones and the Last Dragon, I'm looking at you!). His interest started when his grandfather passed away and left him two golden crescent shaped swords. He pretended to be every hero in the old kung-fu movies he and his grandfather watched. When he turned 16 he decided he was going to help take back the streets of his home in memory of his grandfather. All he has at his heroic disposal are his blades and the willpower to take down evil.
I think he'd be great in a pic with Jackalynn since he is such a young hero, I could see her easily manipulating him....

Seriously whoever made a negative comment is purely trying to aggravate you. IGNORE THEM! Constructive criticism is one thing but just being mean is uncalled for. I have lurked in various areas of these forums since 2005 and it wasn't until I started looking around here did I find the community I knew COH to have - a nice caring community.

I was reading Maximum PC and they had a great article on cleaning up your PC. So I was trying some things out and one of the things they mentioned was DriverAgent.com. I went there and did the free WebScan and was given a list of items that they felt needed a new driver.
One of the items listed was my processor. Since I'm too cheap/broke to pay a fee for them to update it for me I went on the hunt for the drivers. Needless to say I couldn't find any. I also realized that if I found them, I'm not sure I know how to update the processor drivers without screwing something up. So my question is: I have an old Althlon 64 3200+ processor, how do I safely update the drivers? The list on AMD for that processor is not immediately clear as to what I need to download.
The other items were ATA and SATA drivers. Well I don't have any SATA items in my comp so not sure why I'd need to update that but whatever. Anyway Is there something on the motherboard itself I need to look at? I have a Gigabyte K8NSC-939 board.
As usual thank to everyone ahead of time for your time and help!
p.s. I know I need to just toss this paperweight and get a new one, but it's just not an option right now. I have been dream building comps on Newegg and everywhere else for a year now. FatherXmas' guides are absolutely amazing and I'm hoping to build a new comp soon, BUT I'll be passing this one down to my son so he can play COH with me. Right now I have to "borrow" my work laptop so we can play together. -
I was on an all scrapper KHTF on Friday just for the heck of it. We actually did amazingly well with no major team wipeage until the 10th Mary. Then it was cake from there. Probably took 30 minutes once we got going. Was insanely fun.

Thanks Alt for noticing I changed the font! I'm still playing with it. I pulled a few fonts and want to change some of the effects and probably change to a snipe shot instead of the double handed blast.
What size is everyone shooting for? I was aiming to keep the height around 150 but it seems small compared to most. BUT I don't want to get too large either.(edit - nvm I guess if I had gotten more than 3 hours sleep last night I'd have enough common sense to just right click on a few sigs - DOH!) -

Power, I like it but what's taking from is the font...it doesn't suit the blasting image. I like how you put it in the blast though.
I plan on playing with it more and getting a better font with some streaks running through it as if it's getting blasted by the toon. I'm just not that good yet. I did try darkening the blast and going with a lighter colored type but it didn't make sense with the main blast being an energy blast which is white and blues....
I really only do basic color corrections and very basic retouching at work and only when the main imaging guy isn't here. It's just something I've learned to do on my own when I was bored here at work. I work in a commercial photo studio and usually just get to retouch bad set building or match colors to merchandise.
