  1. Well I can understand the Dexter addiction. I'm on Disc 2 of Season 3. I hear Season 4 is amazing....

Anyway can't wait to see and hear more about your new machine!
  2. <------ SO JEALOUS RIGHT NOW!

Grats Pyro! So tell us about the awesome!!!!
  3. Tell me that took you the whole 42 minutes to do!?!?! LOL

Thanks LJ that gives me something to work on for sure! Have I mentioned how much he loved your colors? He wants us to print them and frame them.

Rocky Horror Picture Show? Or am I showing too much geek?
  6. Okay so I was going through his sketch book and decided to scan some things now that we have an "OK" scanner. Also it was cool to see the progression from then til now.

Some costume designs from about 1-2 months ago:

These are not the greatest scans so bare with me. Also i resurrected the original "Talents of PowerStream Jr" thread and added his revised image there.

Feel free to comment just remember a 12 year old (yep he turned 12 on November 3rd! - Geez I'm getting old.) is reading them.
  7. Okay I have finally gotten around to getting his revised image scanned.
    This is the Scanned Image:

This is my attempt at lines:

What else can I do to clear these lines up? As of right now I'm still using a mouse and just using the magic wand. I know I should be doing something different but this is easy and fast so far.... But I have a ton to learn.
  8. Sounds like you got a nice snag Scoots! Grats!

Yeah just playing with it for five minutes made me realize how much of a learning curve there is. But I think his Jr's young mind can handle it!
  9. That's awesome JohnnyKat! Glad I could help you spend your hard earned cash.

Christmas Day can't get here soon enough. I think Jr. is going to love this!
  10. 13. For no particular reason than no one else has picked it.
  11. When I run around say Talos or PI I get around 40fps on a good day set to performance on the slider. If I manually adjust things and run no shadows or dof I can get 50. Throw a team at me and if anyone is a controller or fire anything then forget it. I have to move the slider to minimum and still get a slide show sometimes.

All in all I'm super jealous!! Pyro if times get hard and ya need to sell this thing to make ends meet then PM me! :-p (Okay that sounds meaner than I wanted but you get the picture!)

I'm a married 34yo male. My wife is 31 and also plays CoH when not at school. We would love to find a girlfriend for the both of us that plays CoH, too. Although, playing CoH isn't a must, just something to have in common to start. PM if interested and we can cover basics from there. East Coast is a must.
    I can't stop laughing.

I don't think throwing an ad up on the forums is really allowed but heck good luck I guess.

As far as you significant other needing to play COH ummmm NO!!! My wife and I have been married for 13 years and I can count the number of times she has played a game on one finger!Yeah and it's usually THAT finger!

Trust me. You DO have to walk away from the keyboard sometimes. Also though if she loves you then she should understand you need a little gamer time. My wife despises my games especially now that my son has an account too, but as long as we keep it in check and get other duties done we avoid fights. Besides she gets to Farkle her life away on Facebook while I play.
  13. WOW!

I really don't know what else to say!

That's called MOIRE. Sometimes it's the sexay but try to convince your photo client of that.

That is a totally awesome case. So I know you've alluded to much of the items but do you plan on giving a final list once Pyro has the comp? I too am curious as to price range. I know you don't want to list prices on the forums as it's against the rules and puts you in a possible pickle with future clients but if I had a list of the dream machine's innards I could price it roughly and add in your build time and voila I have a ball park idea to go along with this run on sentence!

No I don't and don't tell me. I gave all of mine (which I bought at a thrift store when I was 12) to my brother-in-law as a sentimental Christmas gift two years ago. He was the one who got me started on D&D.
  16. Okay the subject is lame but I've been thinking of making a toon based on an electric eel but I didn't want to go full elec/elec. I was thinking more like BS/Elec but I could not find any comments on this combination using my weak search-fu.

Any ideas, thoughts, powers to avoid etc? It's mostly concept but I do still want to be able to play effectively.
  17. Okay I guess that makes sense. I just haven't seen and external cooling systems.

Okay so techy question time. The two things that I really just don't get when I dream build on newegg are motherboards and power supplies. There are so many variables it boggles my mind. So CR what are some of the things that you look at for each that you deem mandatory vs "Oooh shiney!"?
  18. Ah so you DID go with the cooler master case! Cool!

Ok dumb question time. What kind of things use those hole/grommets on the back panel of the case. I see cases with it all the time but it just seems odd to me. Why would I want random wires/cables coming out the back of my comp? Curious minds want to k ow!
  19. Okay I'll take a shot but I honestly have no clue nor time to search fu this....

Black Checkerboard is some kind of filter and or sound proofing. I only say sound proofing because it slightly resembles Dynamat (which is usually silver) used in car audio sound proofing/deading.

The other guys are some kind of supports because they appear to be rubbery. But I don't know where'd they go or what to.
  20. Doh double post! It's 6:30am and I'm on my iPhone.
  21. Well I broke down and tested it at work. It's pretty freaking awesome. It takes some getting used to for sure. I guess I didn't realize that it's nothing like a mouse. Then entire pad is equal to my screen. So I'm glad that I did not get a bigger pad. This one is 5.8x3.6 if I remember correctly. I think jr will take some time to get used to it though. I plan on playing with it and trying to do some coloring.

One thing is it takes some getting used to the pressure portion. You have to push relatively hard to get it to make a big difference in line thickness. I'm one of those people that barely touch the paper when I write so I had to push just a little harder than I'm used to. Jr is more heavy handed so that may not be a problem.

Other than that i drew some lines in PS CS3 and not sure if it was just my image size or how much it was magnified but the lines seemed a bit pixalated. I didn't have a ton of time to test this so I'm hoping it was user error.

All in all I'm happy with it and I think it will be a great starter tool for Jr.

LJ- I packed it all up, taped the box, put it in the original shipping box and an hour later looked down at my desk and had left the pen out!!! Doh!!
  22. Well that at least makes sense! Silly question but if NCNC called you up would you take a job?
  23. How did Naz not get an on time birthday post? Geez!

    Happy Belated Berfday!

Okay I know I've seen this link before and looked it over but MY GOD MAN! Why does Z not have a job at Paragon Studios RIGHT NOW?!?!?! Seriously with the coming advances in GR there are a lot of these costumes that could be possible.

Since we're on the subject, Z what do you do for a living? You have a great eye and obviously major talent. I'm always amazed when/if someone that can do things like the art done here and they work as an accountant or something completely unrelated. But I guess that could go to this type of thing being a hobby or a passion etc.
  25. Well I just got the Bamboo Pen Tablet in today. I may open it up and try it out here at work.

My final deciding factor was that at $50 on sale (no tax no shipping for me) I could not pass it up. If it works out well then great! If it doesn't at least I didn't lose a ton of money on it. Also, if he likes it that much and gets advanced I will feel confident moving up to the more expensive variants.

Unfortunately it's a Christmas present so I won't be able to offer much in the way of review. Unless I do break down and test it here at work.
