I was impressed with the skull even before I looked at your write up on da. Then I was really amazed. That is an interesting technique for sure.

At first glance I didn't notice the things you pointed out but now that you have they stand out. Lol. But it is still a great piece of art!

I think the one thing that stands out to me on the most recent piece is that DD is so bright. With the flames behind her I picture more shadows on her front side and even color bleed from the orange/yellow flames. I don't feel so much that way about Fenris but probably because I see the original grey version and picture the flames affected his color to the more brownish look of the finished shot.

I really dig how well the fur looks on both images there though. I know I've seen some images with fur that don't look that good. Great brush stroke look to it, feels more like a painting.

As for order of events there, I see DD as having summoned the fire ring from afar and Fenris searching all around for the source. Then DD firing into him as she walks through the flames (what do you mean I'm not immune to my own fire? that would explain the blisters after too much salsa and refried beans) and Fenris has just turned to, more than likely, destroy DD but since she is so bad*$$ she "ain't skeered"!

Well I'm one of those that didn't vote for JK because he had immunity. I thought of it as a chance to technically get four votes this month. BUT now that I think about it then if no one voted for the immunity winner then he/she isn't eligible for immunity next month which isn't fair if he/she truly had a more popular piece. So my logic was flawed. Sorry JK, but grats on your win this month anyway!

Oh I have an old Athlon X64 3200 with a 7600GS. (I've been dream building for over a year now but things have changed so much in the last few months I'm behind again.) Trust me when I say it's on it's last leg. The plan is to get a decent dual core put into this, then upgrade to win 7 and a new hd and give it to Jr.

Then I can get a brand new shiney something. I know I won't run crossfire or sli, I just don't have the need for it. Honestly I use Macs at work for most of my photoshop needs. Just thought it'd be nice to have a comp that didn't take 5 minutes to paste in an image (slight hyperbole there).

Thanks I knew you guys would steer me to the right or relevant info as usual! Those articles really put things in perspective for me. I know I'm not a computer geek so the numbers tend to go over my head, so usually I look at the basic conclusions of the articles. And almost all of them say the same thing - that for gaming this CPU doesn't really perform better than the current AMD 4 cores and less so than most of the Intels.

So here's a question - If my basic uses of my computer are in this order:
1)Play COH/V
2) Internet browsing (my son does on-line home-schooling which is web based but pretty much anything works for this)
2)Weekly sessions of multiple spreadsheet and document manipulation. (for work which I have laptop for but I don't always feel like lugging it home)
3)Occassional PhotoShop CS4 work (soon to be CS5). Mostly my son learning to do digital art and my manipulating photos and such.

What CPU-wise should I be hunting down? I have no preference Intel or AMD but I know Intel is currently (and for a while now) leading the price to performance ratio, at least in the mid-range.

I of course want the biggest and best but at some point I realize I probably won't need or use it. I have no plans to play any other games at this point. This is the only game I've ever played on PC (well WoW for like 2 days before I regurgitated it out of my comp) everything else I use the PS3...

Anyone used one yet? I know this game doesn't make use of two cores much less 6. But as a compromise to buying an I7 I was thinking this. It's $300 less than a fairly comparable I7. But I did some Googling and did not come across any direct comparisons.

So what does everyone think? FatherXmas I know you're just waiting to pounce on this! Is there a comparison that I totally missed?
