Okay question and I feel dumb asking as a long time vet but it's just not sinking in for some reason. How many Reward Tokens should I have?
My start date on NCSoft.com is July 31, 2005. So In my calculations that's 73 months (74 on the 31 of this month) of vet rewards. As of September first I was able to unlock all but 1 of the tier 8 rewards, 32 tokens (waiting for servers to come back up to verify that - it's been a week since I played). The only reason I'm asking this is it seems a couple people have mentioned having tier 9 unlocked but seem to have less time in than me. Either they bought points and didn't mention that or my tokens are wrong, or their tokens are wrong.
So how many tokens should a 73 month vet who has never unsubscribed and has bought all the boxes except the very first collector's edition have? -
I'm going to bet TopDoc isn't going to post that seeing as you've pointed out the "CEBR arc's are dropping like flies." Therefore it's be a safe assumption the devs don't want them and would probably frown upon posting how to make them.
Just sayin'... -
The password change thing took me resetting it three times before it finally took. My thought is that it had a timer between the reset and the time it updated the Forum's database.

One of the cool things is that when you make adjustments to your graphics settings you don't have to restart the client. At least this is the case with Windowed/Non-Windowed mode.

I think you will be surprised at the higher levels what corruptors, controllers and dominators can handle. My first foray into non melee was a fire/rad controller and was one of the fastest solo leveling toons I ever made. /rad was great for pulling large mobs into a tight group then burning them down with fire/ YUM! Target a mob at the back of the group drop a debuff and find a corner to hide behind so they all find you but are debuffed.
Now my current plant/fire (which I swore I'd NEVER make a plant toon - look at me now!) is by far the most fun toon I have played. Plant gives you the ability to make some pretty dumb mistakes and come out alive. -
I didn't notice the new ICON in Atlas to be honest and I always forget about RWZ access. BUT I usually am always visiting the trainer in short order so why not put it with them? Also now that we have the costume parts available via gleemail (i.e. incarnate unlocked chest emblems) it's nice to be able to throw a random chest emblem on then be able to fix it as soon as I log the character into the game instead or running to Steel or remembering the above places that I always forget. :-)

Never a good thing to see someone you "knew" pass on. Thought and condolences to his family and friends.

Quote:Well ironically I was going to post something to the effect of "you've pointed out a problem(in your opinion), now make a useful and thought out suggestion on a possible solution". But luckily for you Lost Ninja did it for you. I think that system would be interesting, but because of the ease of leveling and support of alt creating, I don't know if it would work as well in this game. The biggest issue is it is honestly SO much easier to create a new toon. If you want to have a high toon in short order look to the many many ways of getting one there. They are all over the forums.I could provide reasoning, quantify my statements perhaps, but methinks I might need to have that conversation with someone that actually can and will rent space in my head. Very few have done more than post diatribe, attempted to insult, forum PVP or deride my opinion in order to debunk it.
It's all good and fun. Certainly entertaining. But I'm not silly enough to actually believe that some of you actually wish to DISCUSS the matter. I'd say that some of you have clearly demonstrated where you stand and what you desire.
Iceskating uphill and all that.
So, I'll continue to serve the ball to an empty court until someone actually wishes to talk about my post.
Until then Ill wait. -
Quote:Maybe we grew up with a different Hawkeye, but I think Jeremy Renner fits perfectly. Heck even the Ultimates version has a bit of a gritty past.Yeah, seems I remember him using a superdope/hi-tech bow sometimes in the comics...what can ya do? And for some reason, this is not the dude Id imagine playing Hawk since he doesn't have superhuman powers other than:
1) peak physical conditioning
2) being an exceptional fencer, acrobat and a grandmaster marksman, having been trained from childhood
3) been thoroughly trained in tactics, martial arts, and hand-to-hand combat
Im not hating, but the actor playing him doesn't fit that look in my minds eye. I like his acting in other pictures, but he has that very salt of the earth look about him...kind of like the guy that picks up my garbage twice a week.

You know, when the use of screenshots from the game were mentioned I wasn't so sure. But now that I see them with your flats I am really digging them. Great job so far Twizded!

Quote:If you have messed a character up OR found you flat out don't like a character by level 10, how much time do you save respeccing that toon versus re-rolling the exact same toon? You can save the costume and best of all the name is 99% guaranteed to be available unless someone just happens to pick the same name as you are loading your saved costume and picking new powers....Ok, so how about you set the secondary rechoice to before level 30? Or even better...
Given one total rebuild at level 10 (primary and secondary choices) and one secondary rechoice at level 20.
It's still early...by this time most folks will realize that they don't like the build they have and can change it without need for the dreaded "delete, reroll" that this game's reputation is plagued with at the moment.
Were not really talking about a change of archetype here...that would require a reroll and that is understandable. We are talking about a powerset choice mistake rectified fairly early in the game.
At 30 I've just begun to slot standard IOs and possibly some sets. If I've spent this much time with this Primary and Secondary combo why would I want to switch?
So my question to you is, is this something you feel that strongly about that you need the devs to devote time to COMPLETELY re-coding the respec system to versus creating new content, new powers, new costumes? If you do that's great but for me it's not. I have about 100 toons all told. Many I don't play because I don't like the power combos, many because I didn't like concept but if they need to be deleted to play a combo or concept I DO like, then so be it. It's one of the BEST features of this game. IMHO... I play this game for fun in my leisure time, which has gotten less and less. If I don't like something then I do something else or play something else, it's that simple.
Also why is changing archtype understandable but not primary and secondary? I have played many blasters. Blasters are super squishy. BUT their most damaging powers are in the melee range and are aggro magnets. Well I rolled a blaster and wanted to be strongest from range but I like the power I have in melee. I should be able to respec into a scrapper so I can survive melee, right? What do you mean no? I mean that's understandable right?
Also, just because at level 30 you can now become fire/kin controller versus the fire/cold controller doesn't guarantee you will like the combo any better. You've yet to address this situation from other posters(unless I missed it which is possible). How many total power respecs should be allowed? For over 7 years zero has worked for majority of the paying player base. Has NOT having this ability caused some to move on? Possibly. Enough to shut the game down? Nope. Is it going to be the feature, or lack of feature in your opinion, that will shut it down? I doubt it. But good luck with the request. -
Funny it always seemed that when I needed one of those IOs they were priced high. Also I just realized that TD even said it was the reactives that were worth more. See what happens when I try to read and work and play games during work hours! All that alt-tabbing when the boss walks in makes comprehension hard! :-P

So either people are reading this or I just picked an odd time to check the market.... I decided to take my new (never done before) AE farmer and roll some tickets in the 15-19 Bronze range. Two of the first 6 were KB protection. JACKPOT!!! Of course being a higher level toon I knew it wouldn't be as much as say a lvl 15 but still good, right?!?! WRONG. Both recipes had almost 200 for sale and were selling for 1-2 million. So I check the crafted items because that's usually where the money is... Wrong again. They were going for 5-8 million. Not a bad profit after purchasing the salvage(yeah I could have just used tickets but I didn't think about that at work).
So I'm going to hold off on that bronze 15-19 for a little bit until this post finds it's way to page 2 or 3. (Of course I'm posting and moving it to the top) But great work as usual TopDoc and while trying to wrap my head around the numbers hurt a little it was informative.
Oh I also learned I don't have the patience to be a marketer... -
I'm not seeing the "alien soldiers" thing you're referring to Deacon_NA.
I think Hawkeye looks great. Jeremy Renner is spot on for this role in my opinion.
I also thought Cap's costume seems bright compared to the others but I'm sure lighting and sfx will help that a lot. -
So one of my favorite toons is a fire/sd scrapper. I love the ability to wade into mobs and decimate them quickly. So I thought I'd build an electric melee/fire armor brute. I used some AE farms to level him up and am at lvl 33. So I have Lightning Rod and Burn and the damage he does in AE is great!
Now the million dollar question. Is there a budget minded build that could take this toon into PVE and run at +2/x8 solo? Or am I totally dreaming? Budget minded is say 500 million or so. I know this kills purples for the most part, but they could be added later (which is what I did with my scrapper).
I'm a total newb to the AE farming and don't mind having that as an option but I prefer to team. So I'm really looking for more PvE oriented with the possibility to tank in a pinch. -
Quote:Having experienced a very close and very real out of the blue tornado I think you and Durakken are extremely off here. Maybe you didn't notice the odd tornadoes that touched down in New York, Oregon and Florida last year. Not places in the so called "Tornado Alley".It's called Tornado Alley for a reason. If they want to play Polish Mine Detector and live on a bullseye I'm not going to feel sorry for them.
Last year in October (NOT Torando season) we had a tornado literally chase our car. It dropped down next to us and we exited the highway and turned under the bridge and headed the opposite direction only to have it on our rear bumper. Luckily it turned away from us but then we had to worry about it hitting our house just a block away. It was extremely terrifying and there was NOTHING we could have done to prepare for or avoid it.
So I'd have to go with the most terrifying things being the sudden ones. I usually have warning for things like hurricanes to get my stuff and my family out of harms way. -

Okay I'd LOVE to see a tutorial on how you did this! This is something I've tried very unsuccessfully to do myself. I am totally self taught on Photoshop so I know I'm only using about 5% of what it CAN do...
-
Looks a million times better than the first one. Are those the directors from Gamer? If so I like them a lot. That movie was meh but the things they do to MAKE a movie are beyond impressive, like the camera man on rollerblades during chase scenes... Awesome!

Ironik - I hate you for your great punny names!!!
Okay not hat ebut am very jealous.
Henri - I've been around just haven't posted much. Went back to lurking. Did you ever see Junior's inked version of British Hero and Junior's toon 2.0??
Okay here is my newest Robot toon Tesla Spike. He's a Claws/Electric Brute (aka CEBr-wanna-be). I need to change the boots once Freedom comes out to the IDF ones but I like how he came out.
-
I have some roboty toons but alas I'm stuck at work on a comp with a horrible gpu. I'll try to remember to post up some images tonight when I get home.
These are all great toons btw. -
-
Now THOSE are some AWESOME NPC costumes! And I LOVE that you guys changed them based on player feedback!
Standing ovation from me! -
Yes making things more complicated is going to drive people away. Period.
I have to be honest, between the annoying bickering and the (in my opinion) ever changing judging/rules I haven't even looked at the FArt competition in months. I appreciate you taking the mantle up this year but it was just too much for me to deal with.
Best of luck to you for the remaining part of the year and to whoever takes up the task as FArt master/mistress net year. -
Quote:Okay David this is just silly thinking. Old stuff doesn't automatically equal non reflective and new stuff doesn't automatically mean shiny. You are right of course. I guess what I meant is that we'd want to draw a contrast between the modern stuff (more shiny and reflective) and the "older"/ historical stuff. Would still have some shine, but I'd downplay it just a bit.
What we the players are asking for is OPTIONS. I'd like to have the OPTION of new tech armor in both a matte or shiny finish. I don't want EITHER/OR. Think about War Hammer armor - as described in the books, it's not reflective most of the time. Who says the current metallic skin has to be shiny? I could come up with a million reasons to have it non-reflective - need for stealth being the first on the list. Just because something is matte or flat finish doesn't make it old - look at current trends in automotive finishes. Flat paint is very cool right now.
So the big question becomes, can BOTH options be done?
