  1. What does QR stand for? I noticed people use it on these forums a lot.

Sorry to interupt the debate. I am stuck at work and wondering if anyone actually has the 48 month yet?(Today)

    I don't think so. The game's 4th anniversary isn't until April.

One question I got asked today (and didn't have a concise answer for) was along the lines of "What good are badges and why should I bother getting the Isolator/Jail Bird badge during the Tutorial?"

    [/ QUOTE ]

They're mainly just for fun. However some of the Acolade badges come with extra powers and some of the Veteran badges come with things like powers, respecs, unique costume parts, free costume changes, and non-combat pets.
  4. I enjoyed the previous issues but I'm looking forward to this one the most!

    Thanks guys!
  5. The problem is that the floating portion prevents you from using breakfrees similar to the way a knockback does. It's only supposed to be a hold + DoT, not a 10 second long knockback.

Your screenshots should be in the screenshot folder under CohTest. It's a separate program file from your regular CoH game.
  7. I never got past the first mission in Ghost Widow's PPP story arc. I had several problems with the mission.

    1. The elevator on the far side of the enormous room didn't function.

    2. The longbow agents I was fighting in the enormous room would jump off of the ledge into the depths. The mu and widow allies with me would jump over the ledge after them. They didn't return to me and it took me a long time to find them again.

    3. The mu and widow allies follow about as well as a hostage. They wouldn't follow me if I used shadow fall. They sometimes wouldn't follow when used the elevator in the the enormous room. They would occasionally get stuck and stop following. I eventually gave up on them.

    4. It's a defeat all mission and I never could find them all.

I thought the enormous room was cool though. I find deep, dark abysses and oversized machinery to be creepy.
  8. You don't hear much about griefing nowadays because most recent games have built in features that prevent griefing. There are many little features built into CoH that we take for granted that older games didn't have and were exploited by griefers.

    Some examples:

When two players attack the same mob, the xp is shared. This prevents kill-stealing.

When doing a trade, there is an accept button. This prevents scamming. You can also turn trades off to prevent window-spamming.

There's an ignore command. This prevents harassment.

When mobs return to their spawn location, they don't attack everyone on the way. This prevents train-killing.

When mobs drop enhancement and inspirations, it's assigned randomly rather than you having to loot the corpse. This prevents ninja-looting.

You click on doorways, rather than move through them. This prevents players from blocking the doorway.

PvP is restricted to specific zones. This prevents non-consentual PvP or player-killing.

Zoning into a PvP zone gives you a timed immunity. This prevents zone-killing.

The options to toggle whether you wish to consent to be teleported or rezzed prevents players from porting you into a bad spot.

In short, it's actually rather hard to grief people in CoH.
