    Oh, hell, I'd laugh my *** off. I only hope they'd be the biggest Huge body types possible. Better if they did the bare chest thing. A real It's Raining Men moment.

    I do not assume anyone is bad at what they do until they show that they are. I laugh because I remember the morons of the past. I prepare for the worst because I do not feel that the team should suffer if one person happens to do something I have observed in the past. That's just how I am.
    I think that's what's bothering me. It's called prejudice. Every sentence there is negative against a tank that can fly. And, even if someone is a newb, I don't think they're a moron. That said...oh, hell...I am really prejudiced with the Trial people. I was on a mish with three out of six. The tank that retreated to behind us was almost as bad as the AR/Dev who wanted to be a scrapper...not a blapper, just a scrapper. Death rained on us.

    So why PUG?
    Nothing wrong with pugs, don't feel the need to defend yourself. How else are you going to meet new people? Friend 'em, rate em [good or bad]. Build your network.

    As long as you don't take Handclap and some of the other turds*, you have leeway with slots, but until the late 38s there's no room for goofing about if you want your core powers. And there's around 15 core powers.

    *and though the consensus is that Punch is a turd, I took it because I didn't want to stand around waiting for Jab to come up. Though I see you took it too.
  3. Good, then I"m not crazy. Or we both are.

    I haven't planned out the rest of the slotting fully. Really depends on what sets I'm going to do and I plan a respec around 30, rearranging for whichever set is best.

    Though I don't think that Sprint could benefit with any set, unless someone wanted to speed their flight too, and I'm not sure there's a set like that.
  4. SZ,

    I'm taking flight as my travel and I sincerely hope no one on my team begrudges how I get to the mish. I'm not going to hover around during combat though. That seems really odd and, frankly, goofy.

    Loved the "I don't mean to X, but X" statement. Those are always so funny when they pop up.

    So, is tp or ss better? Jumping has CJ which keep the kb down, but that should be handled by a toggle [which CJ is actually.]

    How is the way a Tank commutes making it inferior? I'm really curious how not having the other pools are better.
  5. There are too many powers that need to be taken with the wp/ss. I'm going to fly but would like my running to be a little faster...

    Should I slot sprint?

    I actually already put one, for a total of two. I tried to find some data on how fast I could get with three and some SO or IOs.

    Thoughts?
  6. Here's my plan currently, and I'm at 40.

    Name: Ink Girl
    Level: 50
    Archetype: Scrapper
    Primary: Martial Arts
    Secondary: Invulnerability
    +---------------------------------------------
    01 => Resist Physical Damage
    01 => Thunder Kick
    02 => Storm Kick
    04 => Temp Invulnerability
    06 => Dull Pain
    08 => Crane Kick
    10 => Stealth
    12 => Air Superiority
    14 => Fly
    16 => Unyielding
    18 => Hasten
    20 => Swift
    22 => Health
    24 => Stamina
    26 => Dragons Tail
    28 => Invincibility
    30 => Super Speed
    32 => Eagles Claw
    35 => Tough Hide
    38 => Focus Chi
    [You are here]
    41 => Focused Accuracy
    44 => Resist Elements
    47 => Resist Energies
    49 => Crippling Axe Kick

    Now, if I'm respeccing. The things I could lose w/o bothering me would be:

    01 => Thunder Kick
    10 => Stealth
    18 => Hasten
    30 => Super Speed

    I can't comment on the ones past 40.

    Removing those, I think I'd add fighting [Boxing, Tough, Weave] and Rec Friend. Wouldn't mind the tp team option, but I can't justify the powers.
  7. If you want to look speedy, MA is not what you should pick. It's a good primary, and fun, and while it may fit your concept of fighting with no weapons, you're not going to be the Flash. The animations aren't slow, except for Eagle's, but not fast.

    That's not a bad idea.
  9. If I decide on the challenge of a 100% solo toon, I'll do it on Guardian then.

    Or do you think I'd get more blind invites? All the natives would be going "OMG! A Person!"

    Gio

    Yesterday we had to download the system again because of the PvP "minimal FX" issues. Very quick fix by the devs, btw.

    I've had CoH be one of the most lag free games I've played. When I hear others complain of logging in, losing connection to map server, lag, I think it must be their ISP. [mostly]
  11. There's a slot machine in CoH?

    Fee = realism. I have no probs that my lev 1 can't sell his insp from Outbreak until he gets 350 for the fee at Went.

    No lottery! [And I'm not even baptist.]
  12. I'm not understanding what we'd do with a "bank." I'm a walking bank as it is. If you want to transfer [money launder] from one character to another, use Went's. I gave 3m from my 43 on Liberty to my 10 on Freedom last night by selling the 43 a rare but worthless lev 50 enh for that amount.

    I've got a tank and a blaster on Freedom and a scrapper and blaster on Liberty. The differences between the two are night and day. Freedom is full of kids and you can get on a team while walking across the street sans LFT shouting. Liberty, everyone is nice, no one broadcast spams, teams last longer than 40 minutes.

    I don't want them to get rid of any servers unless they are taking the two lowest and merging them, as long as Liberty isn't one of those [and I think it's about median].
  14. I've done a few Blasters but never for the long haul. My old AR is stalled at level 31. Her secondary is Energy which some people love.

    Recently I made my AR/Dev and am really pleased. The only problem is trying to get all the stuff I want. No real mistakes to be made, IMO.

    Here's the URL of a thread here that I recently asked advice for what goes on over lev 20.

    Good luck with it and if you're ever on Freedom, give Betty Forever a shout.

    No, I'm not even sure what the Going Rogue page is.

    And true, the flamethrower and buckshot are great aggro magnets.

    The obvious (but what some people will automatically give me flack about) is level 6.

    I have slotted level 10 IO's on characters at level 7. Not fully, but some IO's here and there.

    Is it worth it?
    Yes, if you want them, if you have the influence for them, and/or if you don't want enhances that will expire. - or if you have them sitting around the base because you made some for a crafting badge.

    I have tended to try to slot out my characters completely with level 20 IO's (so starting at level 17).

    However, now that the leveling speed increase effects characters past level 20, I may be rethinking when I slot IO's.
    It is very likely that some players will level up 5 or more levels on a good team before they have a chance to take a break and get more enhances. So having IO's means that you will at least get some benefit from enhances.
    At the same time, is it worth waiting until you are a higher level instead of running around with IO enhances that are 5+ levels old?

    I have a feeling that I will still be trying to slot with level 20 IO's and throw some in there at random at lower levels.

    If I don't have the time, inf, salvage, etc to build IO, then I may or may not run to a store to buy some to slot until I get around to making or getting IO's from my base to slot them.
    This is exactly what I was thinking, and it's good to hear it from someone else for reassurance.

    My low IOs have kept my blaster from running out with nothing slotted when time didn't allow for changing. But I've sent my scrapper out with all slots empty before.

    My default bind file has nearest set to the `~ key, next to 1.

    Rats, I was hoping there was some secret easy way.

    To kind of threadjack, as a blaster, I would like to change to a specific baddie, but short of trying to click him with the mouse, I don't see any easy way to do it. And sometimes it is too frantic for that.

    How do defenders/controllers do it?
  19. I'm both on Liberty and Freedom.

    Liberty is very laid back and sparsely populated. Very few teens spamming idiotically on the broadcast channel. Serious toon is serious.

    Freedom is more populated, but not thick with people. I've been in groups who, when on a longish mission, when we saw we were getting crap for XP, still finished the mish. On Liberty the mish would be abandoned. Also, the idiot spamming in Atlas is present. But there are enough people that, even if you are hunting in the isles of Talos, as long as you have your "looking for any" flag set you'll get a message for invite.

    If you want bad craziness, I think Virtue is your ticket.

    When you get to the server selection screen, the busiest server is at the bottom.

    ETA: Had no idea this was 10 pages. I was responding only to stuff on the first page. This is a troll thread.
  20. I have IOs in a blaster of mine that are level 15. They are pretty good for that range with a 19% in one area. They cost me around 30k each maybe.

    But does that make any sense? I already feel they're stale compared to the SOs that I could pick up [If I knew which tech store had that lev]. And the sets, some of them start at 16.

    I think I might be before the point of non-diminishing returns here.

    I have three core toons. A 43 scrapper, a 23 blaster, and a 18 scrapper. My 43 is almost exclusively DO and SO. My 23 is totally IOs though I'm having a hard time finding EndMod. My 18 is just random crap, he's claws and has been levelling so fast I've taken him on mishs with absolutely nothing slotted [and he did fine.]

    Thoughts?

    I hear they are going to have Willpower for blasters now. And Tanks will get AR.

    This is why I should write more of this stuff down.

    Thanks for the Karamba, etc, info. I need to get with the whole series IO stuff. I've made too many of the same kind only to find I can't slot them together. I do, however, usually make around 700,000 when I sell them. Why would anyone pay for a made one? You can buy the parts for a fraction of that.

    They have no FX for Inv for scrappers. I find mine looks much more badass without sparklies all over her.

    I don't like how hasten ruins my toon's look, but I like being able to look at others and see at what intensity they are fighting. Some don't have hasten recharging often, or at least don't use it much. I know I will lay off on a mob that's light, especially if I expect bad craziness soon.

    I wish the colors hadn't happened. Pink fire protection makes it impossible to see. And if running with the irritatingly bright SS glow and that, I couldn't see anything. Plus, it would be nice if I could tell the difference between darkness and fire sometimes.
