  2. I adblock images all the time. Usually when a forum member, not here, has a tasteless or just something I don't like [Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter comes to mind].

I don't know IE, but if there is something where you could block it. Not the prettiest, but it would remove it.

I have never thought about it. And now that I do, I have no strong feeling for or against it.

Is there something in User CP?
  3. Thanks.

I'll have to check PI again. Last time, even at 47, I wasn't finding anything real. RWZ...death is not xp. But really, to just get the block, the big spawns there might be fine.

I was only in Cimerora for the first time last night and there was no free time. But you're right, I did see a green on my way out. I had to kill him because he chased an abandoned giant fly trap and killed it. Basterd.

I'm not sure on that sewer thing. When my scrap, at 41, joined a lowbe sewer mish, no one got xp until I quit.

Currently, when I get in the thick of things, usually when my back is on a wall and there are 10+ melee droogs in front of me, I feel like my framerate drops to 2. Not really though. And the Malta bastards and their missiles and darkness. Sometimes I just have to watch the bar and hit the key, ignoring the crazy, choppy mess.
  5. I've got ONE BLOCK until I hit fifty with my MA/Inv scrapper. My first 50.

I'd really like to knock this block out in solo, where would be a good place to do this?
  6. If you just came back, as I did, you've got the i16 change. Then there was a redownload the next day for something. Then they needed to put power visuals back in PvP. Then there was 2x weekend.

They'll have to fix the AE door bug. Lots of other stuff will get upgraded and installed prior to the Halloween stuff.

I'm cool with it. I give them props for always having the green dot on my servers. Only on 2x weekend did I see Freedom get to 2 yellow dots. Liberty is always green.

As an aside, if you've ever clicked on a glowy in an AE mish, you will have a badge called "Poor Impulse Control." That's what I have displayed under Ink Girl's name.

It is a totally viable strategy to kick a gunslinger into a wall, run up and kick him, and if he tried to get up use Air Sup and flip him, kick him while he's down, rinse, repeat. Though I've only slotted knockback in Dragon, which is a damn hoot to watch.
  8. I like Fly becasue:
    1. I'm in the red, hit fly and space straight up to safety.
    2. When commuting, put it on auto and chat.
    3. I suck at stairs and fall off walkways.

That said, my 48 has SS and Fly and my fly is 50 mph with SS at 100. I specced out of SJ on the only toon that had it. Jumping's not bad, and CJ is good regardless of travel.

And, of note with travel, the non-pool teleports are good. Oro is available after 25, just go through someone else's portal and get to the top of the steeple. Log out in Wentworth's to get the temp power of tping to a Went in any city. And if you buy...I think it's Good v Evil pack, which has crap costumes, you get a Mission Teleport, which will take you to door mishs regardless of where you are.

Early in the game, when nearly to Kings Row in the sewer, when everyone suicides, just tp back to Went's or keep a door mish handy.

What I take it to mean, "attackign the back," is what I often do. I jump over everything and crane kick someone 30 feet away, then beat the living sheep dip out of them. Target nearest, F, kill another. Past the "front line."
  10. Insane scrapper jumps the crowd for a sap smack. The damage keeps sap aggro off you and sap is dead in two hits.

Had to do that repeatedly yesterday.
  11. I maltaed all over the place yesterday, purple minion style. Invincibility from Inv secondary. Three defbuf, 2 endred. Never turn it off.

If you get killed or your end bottoms, the first toggle to hit is that. I bang on it as I stagger backward, away from the chaos, waiting to get control back.

    INV FTW

Edited to add: Holy crap, just looked it up. I dont' think I have any end protection. I'm insane.
  12. I have that problem too, but my most irritating problem is that the blue hand is 3/4 inch to the upper left of the normal cursor.

In other words, when I'm managing enhancements, I have to put the blue hand above and to the left of the enh to be able to grab it. I have only once made a mistake, throwing an acc where I wanted a dam. No big deal, but I'm not capping the damage until I remove it.

I'd like to keep them out of melee, but if Fire should be played more blapperly, I might need to pick it up. But...there are only so many things I can get. My only trivial power is Recall Friend at 30.

Your primary and secondary are all attacks do you really need another one? You'll probably have attacks sitting in your power tray that you never use especially if you have a decent amount of recharge.
A bigger toolbox. But, yes, there can be overkill. All the talk of CJ makes me want to ditch flight and go the leaping route. CJ will be picked up regardless. But for melee, Air Sup is inline to the travel power, and it's the best travel power since it's lazy.

    Quote:
Blazing Bolt is a highly situational power and even more so if you are going to be in melee alot. There are better powers though this makes a good set mule.
Snipe is probably 1/30th of the fight, but it's still a part of it. I have a hard time giving this up, but am not sure how much I'll use it. When solo with an AR, I always lead with Snipe.

    Quote:
Burn is another one of those situational powers...If you are looking for Immob protection Combat jumping is superior for the blaster...and accepts some very useful set IOs.
I think I'm going with the Leaping and I've only read two responses so far.

[I've got to quit with the forum...it's double XP weekend!]

I hadn't thought of that but the first two come in really handy when rooted with my AR/E. And I'm also a big believer in having at least some attack to pass the time while waiting for my serious ones, and that would be flares in this case.

    Quote:
Fire Sword is optional, but my blaster has it for when a single mob gets into melee range. FSC just isn't practical in that case.
Hmm. I'll have to think about this. But for what Fire Sword does, I could use Air Sup to buy time and burn him up. And, depending on FSC's damage, throwing a Fireball point blank would have a similar effect.

    Quote:
I would agree with Fireball and Build-Up being ASAP powers, but I would get Blaze before Build Up. Blaze is worth more to you at that level than the brief few seconds of +Damage Build Up gives.
I'm not sure exactly what blaze is. I've really never noticed anything that I would consider a close, one target attack from a fire blaster near me in combat. I know what build up is.

    Quote:
...Combat Jumping, and Acrobatics, simply because my blaster is built with almost soft-capped Ranged Defense (which CJ helps with), and I hate using Knockback...
That's true...my other, non-blaster tunes are almost exclusively Willpower for secondary [or first for tank], IW in that keeps me from all that. I'm a big believer in combat jumping, but there isn't much room in the F/F build if you take all the core powers.

  16. Here's my 1-38 plan. I'll comment between them to justify my taking certain things. I know some of my personal tastes will flag as errors unless I explain.

    1 Fire Blast
    1 Ring of Fire
No choice, like Fblast better than flares.

    2 Fire Ball
    ASAP IMO

    4 Flares
Crap, I had to choose between Fire Sword, Combustion and Flares. Sine I'm picking up FSC at 10, why bother with FS.

    6 Air Sup
I fly. I don't hover. And Fire shouldn't have redraw.

    8 Fire Breath
    10 Fire Sword Circle
    12 Aim
    Obvious choices.

    14 Fly
    It's Fly.

    16 Build Up
    18 Swift
    20 Health
    22 Stamina
ASAP Buildup pushes the Stamina set back one.

    24 Blaze
    26 Blazing Bolt
    28 Consume
There was a note saying Consume was great with Inferno. No one challenged the person's statement. However, only one out of five of the guides had a person taking it.

    30 Recall Friend
I'm polite to people who slack on the travel powers. But not until 30.

    32 Inferno
    35 Burn
    38 Hot Feet

OK, and then I need to pick up something at 41. As much as it is a theme buster, Ice looks good. But having a nine foot huge with as many spikes and horns as you can get on them [imp ears look like horns if with underlord horns and a monocolor jester hat] made of red and black, and then spittin' out ice. Hmm.

Other thoughts are...could I live with just tp as my travel? I've never had tp. I get recall pal since they appreciate it and the rest of us hate waiting.

Again, wonderful forum. Thanks for answering my noob questions w/o cruelty [unless you're having a bad day, and then, sure, kick the dog (me)]

Sorry [I'm saying that alot] I'm thinking of another toon which has Inv and I use Unyielding that way. And if unyielding can't, then it has a really good placebo effect on my game.

And it's her that has the toggle issues. I don't think any of my [numerous low-level] WP toon have any end problems.

Why would you do that? With the extra +end in SoW, you could easily run IW as well as everything else.
I've been having end trouble so I keep IW off but use it as a break-free. I was thinking I'd just do the same with SoW...but since reading I've come across a guide that says SoW isn't worth taking. Your response seems to echo that.

And thanks everyone for making this a really informative thread for me. I don't care if it says I joined in 2006, I've only been playing about a month.

  20. I'm glad you mentioned this. One of my toons was going to mess with the SG colors on her outfit and found she was the head of the SG.

I've never been in the base. She uses Pocket-D and Oroborous, trains, etc, to get around and the only use I have normally for a SG is for alternate colors on my clothes and the tp.

I think I'll guy it and make it nothing but tp.

I guess that's why I get messages about how much the SG owes. Hmm.
  21. Now that I've done some research, I wish I could have deleted this thread out of embarrassment at considering the kicks. They're sad.

On my way to 49 I only have three powers that I don't know what to pick. Laser eyes don't fit the MO of my gladiator. But there's time to worry about that later.

Sorry if I wasted your time.

[I was hoping I could run most of the toggles at the same time. That would really kick ***.]
  22. I have a dual blade/wp scrap and so far I'm liking him. And now I have a few questions as he's leveling fast.

    1. Kick from Fighting or Jump Kick from Leaping, will they cause redraw on my swords?

    2. If I go with Fighting, I'll get two more toggles, Tough and Weave. With WP I already have 4 toggles with MoB, IW, RttC, and HS [though I'm not sure how much I'll use that, and I'll stop with IW once I get SoW]. All total that's 6 toggles. Granted I'm getting QR and Stamina ASAP and slotting them with the three IOs [another question is whether I need to supplement those with SOs too]. If I turned them all on, would my end drop just standing there?

Thanks in advance for any help.

If you don't like to have people ask where something is, you should stick to the lower population servers.
"Is that near Atlas Park?" is a reference to a skit where two level 40s are talking. One is an AE baby.

Maybe I'm too harsh on Virtue. There are good days and bad days. And after all, I'm pretty liberal with the ignore on Freedom. Having one person shouting on broadcast without the other side of the conversation is surreal enough it's not too annoying. Funny how ignoring around 15 people can make the broadcast spam nearly quiet.

But, everyone has their favorite. I've heard Freedom called Freedumb here recently. Eh.
  24. I find Virtue to be a hellhole of teenagers, though some may like that. Lots of people using trial version. "Is that near Atlas Park?"

Freedom, which I'm starting to switch to, is usually 2nd most populated and has a mix of serious and broadcast spammers. 3/4 of the time I get a good pick up team.

Liberty is my old server. Usually second to last in the listings, sometimes halfway up. Liberty is nearly exclusively older players and they know how to play. It's not hard to get on a team, but if you want to drop the boombox under Atlas and argue about Twilight, this aint your server. Liberty has few AE babies.
