The starting capital would be the two lev 1 damage enh from Outbreak and the large Damage and large Heal insp. You're starting from ground zero.

As a matter of practicality, though, you're probably better off running a[ lowbie AE arc, collecting 500 tickets and buying 1 rare salvage that goes for 2m on the market to sell. You'll get some experience, too. (edit: note: this is dependent on you being able to buy salvage from a level range above your current level. I've not tried it personally yet.)
500 tickets in AE for a level 2? I gotta know more about this. And I don't think they do rolls for that lev.

Selling crap to the NPCs is actually what I'll try to do it with. I'll do the math before. And crafting in SC will be fast, but with small gains if I'm going to get things sold asap.

Everything I know to make money starts at over 2m generally. Below that it's very slow common IO crafting. But that's not fast.
  2. Fifteen was harder, but AR and Energy made it about the easiest to get a good build due to the AR attacks being early.

But there are no IOs to speak of. I tried to get range on those w/o range and rech on those w/o rech. Accuracy all around.

Though, due to the lack of [quality] powers under 15, I also picked up invisibility and recall friend to be a ghoster. Probably could swap stealth for grand invis...hmm. Never been very selfless like that though. [edited to add: No, I'd lose my -kb. So stealth becomes a mule...I hate that.]

Not sure if there is much to suggest, but I know I'm no expert.

  3. It's been my alpha, but I'm usually underwhelmed by the orange number it makes.

I can't take CAK. I can't force my toon to look that dorky.
  4. Some of the marketers are trying something and besides getting rare drops, mainly because people lev so fast, it's pretty fun to turn xp off at a certain level.

So here's the best I think I could do for my fire/ice. The odd levels for IOs are due to me having them at that level. I know some are too low, but I felt like finishing the set and going back for the higher level.

    All suggestions welcome.

    Thanks again for any suggestions.
  5. I'm in Talos WW and a mooch asks for 2 million. I give it to them since I'm feeling generous and also tell them to come to the forum. I also say that I could make 2 million in 30 minutes with a brand new toon.

I wonder if I could. I'd have nearly no money and no slots.

I'm going to try it tonight and hopefully none of you will and mess with my lil low lev niche.

I think I'll time not only how much I can make in 30, but how long it takes to make 2 mil. I think I'll take a PB so I can move between WW and NPCs. I'm not sure if I'll get a SG as I'll probably hop to SC since the library loads faster than a SG generally.

Any thoughts? Any threads already like this?
  6. Walk is only a quick toggle dropper and new way to gawk at your hot female toon.
  7. Thanks, Fury. I'll have to load this up later as I'm not getting a good feel for what's going on w/o Mids.

Already without many of her sets complete she's behaving much much better.

One thing, just a silly thing, I'd like to do is put a proc in brawl, but the one I like comes too fast. I don't recall which one it is but the set starts at 25 and it's a neg damage proc.

Didn't see any other melee procs for the teens where brawl might still be used.

I'm paying 15m for Posi's I'm having to wait days for. The market is freaked out.

    So...

Make a hero and check out Virtue which is crawling with people. I call Freedom home.

Even on the big two, red side is pretty sparse, which is lame because I'd love to really get a stalker going, but I need a larger population to keep from feeling isolated.

OH, I understand. If you DON'T USE THEM, then the only ones you can carry are in your tray. Totally different than what I had thought.

    Meanwhile...

Well, if Fury Flechette didn't say my build sucked. I guess it's OK. Though I need to get those extra Impervium Armor 2x out and figure what else to put in. In this build, AR/DEV, there really seem to be too many slots. But I'm about to make another alt, a wp/elec tank, and that is the opposite problem. [though khelds forever win in slot starvation]
  10. At level 33, I realized I had made mistakes on Betty Forever [Freedom] and it was time to make the second build rather than use one of her freespecs, which if I understand right takes my IOs and throws them in the toilet.

There are errors in this build. I know I have mag 12 knockback resistance. I did it for the 1.5% recovery once I was swimming in slots.

The only power choice error I think I've made is bean bag. Betty's at 36 and bean bag is just not doing it for me.\

Edited to add: Crap,I'm over the 5 rule on 2.5% recovery and 9% acc. Hmm.

This does look good, now that I've taken some time. And it does something I prefer, to avoid responsibility to the team by being a tank.
  12. You may say there is no dumb question, but this one is.

So, Winter's Gift only modifies the power it's slotted in? It's not Global?

Why would anyone want to go for it if it's not global?
  13. my vote, totally subjective and not based on numbers:

    WP/Axe Tank and Fire/Kin Controller.

Lower levels, Fire blaster and an Ice blaster.
  14. That said, if you are new, there are certain ATs which have real or perceived responsibilities to the team. Tanks better tank. Most Defenders are expected to heal, regardless of the fact they may be trick arrow/archry.

If you don't feel like the responsibility at first, pick a "dummy" AT [like I do] a blaster or scrapper. Especially scrappers, who no one blames for dying. It just means they were trying hard or got into a scrapper-lock rage.

If you can stand the gloomy environment of red side, Stalkers rock. Masterminds are god-like, and you can go get a soda while in combat, since you don't do anything. [I kid, I kid.]

    My two cents.
  15. I let them mooch xp all mish, then kick them because I can't start the next until they exit.

I'll send them a /t and also let the team know, usually by asking if they feel like trying to get the exact AT or just whatever. It's a bit of a rhetorical tactic, I tell them I will kick them, and what of these two choices would you like. Use it with kids all the time.

Mooching off the puny Radio missions, etc, that I tend to do isn't going to net them a huge amount of xp anyway. It's more fun to get xp by playing anyway. If they want to mooch they'll pay inf in PI or actual cash to a Chinese farm service.
  16. Thanks guys, great advice.

Fury Fletch, I'll definitely do a second build on either my fire/fire [14] or fire/ice [23]. Though, while bringing the pain in buckets, the Fireball brings the aggro in shipping containers. But, these are easy to try, especially fire/ice, as she's already at that level.

4, yeah, man, I know the frankenslotting. Entropics are my big pal, though I've never gotten a good idea about how much 10% regen is helping me since I always do it. I'd like to be able to get some 5 slotted posi's or entropics for the 6.25% rech, but I think I'm dreaming with this.

Whoever mentioned upping to 25 for Oro. Aaah, I'm tempted, but this 22 is a compromise in itself. I'd really prefer to stop around 15 on one, as level 15 recipes are insanely expensive. Most in the SG are stopping around level 34, to get their 32 and then some slots, but the recipes aren't that sparce at that level and are rather reasonable, rarely going over 2m each once crafted.

Oh, and 4 again, as for the 10-20m instead of 100m. Have you seen prices lately? Low lev is through the roof or totally absent or both. That's mosty why we're doing this, get 'em circulating or keep 'em for ourselves.

    Thanks again guys.

edited to add: Sailboat, not really farming exactly. Probably mostly running Radio since I don't get a lot of time at once. Unless that's not bringing the drops. I'll be on teams, but more than likely they won't know I'm running sans XP.

Edited again to add: OK, this build is probably impossible to make and also skips key power slotting, but sacrifices needed to be made.

  17. Tai, I'll have to look into that. I know nothing about Dark.

Claw, the Rad is definately something to think about. I've played with Mids for a while trying to get Rad/AR to work. AR is nice since the four core powers until 32 are the first four presented.

My big problem, which I hadn't anticipated, is slots. There aren't enough of them. There's no way to slot three rech in a long recharging power when I need to put them into 3x five Positrons and a five of Entropic. Each granting a rech +6.5%.

    I don't think I can afford Hasten...

It's interesting how many of my favorite power sets are terrible before the 20s. Kinetics is nearly worthless.
  18. If you follow the Market forum you know that several people are turning off XP to gain midlevel recipes, etc.

I'm not finding any toons which are powerful enough in the teens, where the real money is for rare IOs, but by 22 many have blossomed somewhat.

Bear in mind I'll spend around 100m IOing them, and I wonder if I need Stamina.

What do you think is the most powerful team player, configured correctly, at 22?

Edited to add: WP on a Tank has QR which looks good...too late on Scraps. Hmm.
  19. As for helping your team with stealth, it's not going to happen unless you pick up a Celerity or Unbounded Leap +Stealth and slot it in sprint. Though, if you tp, it's a lot cheaper to get...I don't recall the IO, it's got a picture of a clock...well, that +stealth. But you'd have to tp every 2 minutes to stay invisible.

Edited to add: Or super speed.
  20. Good, man.

But I'm not doing a buy low sell high again. My 50 is drowning in helmets, gloves, and hami costumes from Halloween. They'll make me money, but they bug me just sitting there.
